City Investigate Un-Happy Incident

City of Lusaka and Happy Sichikolo continue to hog the headlines and this time the coach could find himself in more hot water.

This is after Sichikolo was photographed on the back page of Thursdays edition of the Zambia Daily Mail squaring-up with a supporter at Sunset Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

Sichikolo was allegedly accosted by a small band of spectators following his sent-off by referee Boyd Singanda in the 21st minute for dissent in 10-man City’s way to a 1-0 away win over hosts Zanaco.

City PRO Matimba Nkonje the incident was regrettable but that investigations into the matter were on going.

“We are investing the truth behind the picture,”Nkonje said. “We are sorry for the  bad impression it has created and if Happy is found to be wrong, then appropriate action will be taken.

“He may have been provoked but City does not entertain violence.”

City’s bench is no stranger to player-coach bust-ups and mid this year, assistant coach Hector Chilombo was involved in another bust-up with a fan at Woodlands Stadium.
Chilombo was suspended on August 22 following a flare-up with a fan in a 2-1 home loss at the hands of Power Dynamos during a Week 20 game.

  1. That City Ya Moto mentality. Sometimes one cannot avoid over reacting. The fans are sometimes very funny and provocative. I for would defend Happy, he has a cool head, he must have ben pushed very hard against the wall. We will wait for executive response.
