Zamalek give up on Kalaba

Zamalek have asked for a refund from Sporting Braga after Rainford Kalaba refused to join the Cairo giants.

Zamalek Sabri Serag to Filgoal.com that the club had requested Braga refund them on the US25,000 they paid to the Portuguese club for a six-month loan deal for Kalaba.

“We don’t know whether the player intends to change his mind and complete the move,” Zamalek spokesman Sabri Serag told Filgoal.com.

“But we don’t care anymore, we’ve asked Braga to send back the money they received from us. A player who does not want to play for Zamalek is unwelcomed here.”

Meanwhile, Kalaba is believed to be still on the Copperbelt.

  1. Is it poverty, is it pipo managing the players, is it the education & social background? Is it excitment? If not what is it mwebantu Zed players? I think Zed players can make a good thesis-case study for any body to aquire a masters or Doctorate degree on human bad judgement and behaviour

  2. Kaili bakamba teti nje ku Zamalek kwati nalipwa. Nomba elyo ndeteya na bola iyikali, nfwulefye ukuya ku Man U.

  3. I do not expect Kalaba to leave playing in Europe to come to Egypt. Just hold on Kalaba, you will get much better deals and soon. The Deal from Zamalek was not worth it. What is $25k

  4. Some of you are ignorant on the way the BUSINESS of football works.

The deal was a six month loan deal between Braga and Zamalek. In instances like this the player gets very little say in the matter. It is like someone from Zanaco head office being sent to Zanaco Ndola Branch for a six month period. The employee simply has to say, ‘okay’. If the player has a problem it is for him to take it up with Braga and discuss things with them. In ‘going on strike’ the player is effectively putting two fingers up to the management at Braga. Instead of sitting on the CB Rainford and his agent should be in Portugal discussing the long term.

  5. zamalek are on record for destroying promising footballers…mido , junior agogo of ghana and kalaba just missed out on that long list of footballers ending up in the wilderness .he should consider getting a new agent who can understand his long term ambitions rather than these quick fix cash dealing agents .sporting braga don’t have kalaba in their plans something he needs to realise b4 the situation gets out of hand and he ends up back to square one – the zambian league . i hope u finds an agent who can help him move on within europe . his a good player , am sure he can find better clubs who need players of his quality but he needs to start sorting issues with real time agents . :-?:-?:)>-:-c:)]:)]:)]:)]
