Mangani must resign – Kelly Walubita Jr

Share

The National Revolution Party has called for the resignation of Home Affairs Minister Lameck Mangani for what they termed as hypocrisy.

Speaking in an interview with QFM in Lusaka, National Revolution Party Secretary General Kelly Walubita Junior said it is hypocrisy for Mr. Mangani to call for the arrest of UPND Copperbelt Chairman and Solwezi Member of parliament WATSON LUMPA when the MMD cadres who stabbed Hon. Charles Kakoma were left scot free.

He said it is not right for the Minister to be selective in enforcing the law to the non MMD members in the country.

He challenged Mr. Mangani to tell the nation why the suspected MMD cadres who masqueraded as police officers did not identify themselves to the UPND cadres who beat them up in Mufumbwe.

He said if they were genuine police officers, they would have identified themselves before the cadres could pounce on them.

Meanwhile, Mr. Walubita has given Inspector General of Police Francis Kabonde 48 hours to tell the nation what the police have done to the MMD cadres who have been harassing people in Mufumbwe and Lusaka.

  1. Yeah kelly is quiet right on this one. There is a lot of hypocrisy, why should mangani call for the arrest of the UPND official when it is clear that it was the MMD that started the whole thing when they brought in some thugs from lusaka to beat up and intimidate pipo in mufumbwe. One mans cup of tea maybe ?:-?

  2. These MMD minions are just funny and jokers. They have nothing in their brains. They are now feeling the fire of change. Kuya bebele bane.

  3. MMM get your bags and start packing. change has come and those in authority should no be biased against anyone everyone is equal before the law. So mmd be honest and smell the coffee. this remind me of kaunda days when the time was up all sorts of things happened. It is a deep learning curve. RB leave young ones to rule the country.

  4. Magani’s behave is unacceptable in Zambia;s democratics set up. Magani and chikamba Kabonde must be pushed out of the office they are the ones painting imagen of Zambia Police Service black. The wind for real change is bowling wide and Zambians we should be ready to defend ourselves and the lives of our future. The Police are no longer there to protect us. hence i will buy a gun to protect the wind of change Zambian wants

  5. Personally I mis E. Mateyo. Kabonde only seems to be Assistant Commission of Police. Not quite sure who is IG between RB and Magani. I strongly feel the whole MMD needs to be put aside come 2011. I will not be surprised if they petition the 2011 presidential elections justKaunda said 1991 was somehow tempered with. Zambians, rise and exercise your right as a citizen, consider the future of your offsprings.

  6. Every body who participated in violence must be charged. Lumba cannot hide behind fact that the MMD cadres who beat Kakoma have not been prosecuted. Once we condone violence under any circumstances we are travelling down the road of war lords and militias.

  7. Well said my name sake. Too much hypocrisy when it is them they keep quiet, when it is opposition Ba yemisa mazebe. Zwa MMD we are fade up!

  8. :d Kelly you have a point there!!! MMD must wake up and smell the coffee. Time is running out for them.

  9. is goes to show how evil and dangerous RB is. RB and his minions knew one thing: that they could not win the by-election in Mufumbwe under whatever circumstances. So, to avenge the impeding loss they decided to go to Mufumbwe and beat the sh**t out of those sleepy people in the bush; Just to teach them a lesson for voting for the opposition. RB could not have done this had this by-election been in Southern province; Tongas cannot take this kind of crap; remember how they responded to MMD thugs in Mapatizya! Not even in Northern province, MMD thugs were whacked in Kasama. Next time I hope our brothers in North-Western won’t be so sleepy and well-coming to RB and his thugs. Wake-up and don’t be like the Easterners; embrace change when it’s time and don’t take such crap lying down.

  10. :d/:d/:d/ Mangani is a very useless minister just like his boss Rupiah. After assulting and killing people in Mufumbwe, they are now hipping all the blame on the opposition as if Zambians cannot see. They are even intending to petition the elections, shame on these guys. mulifipuba abena Mangani, Rupiah, Katele na ci Kabonde.

  11. Mean while Dora Siliya says the killing of 2 persons by a car driven by Mulondwe Muzungu was just an ordinary accident Radio Phoenix 06:45hrs.

  12. WHOEVER COMMITED A CRIME SHOULD BE SUBJECTED TO THE JUDICIAL PROCESS. LUMBA OR OTHER UNKNOWN CADRES SHOULD BE PROSECUTED IF IT IS VERIFIED THAT THEY TOOK PART IN VIOLENCE. I HOPE KAKOMA REPORTED THE MATTER TO THE POLICE AND IS ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PERPETRATORS OF VIOLENCE HE SUFFERED. SIMILARLY IF LUMBA PARTICIPATED IN ASSAULTING THE POLICE OFFICER ON DUTY HE HAS TO BE DEALT WITH BY THE LAW PERIOD. SO AUTHORITIES SHOULD DO THEIR JOB IN THIS MATTER AND ENSURE THAT THE LAW TAKES ITS COURSE REGARDLESS OF WHO IS INVOLVED. THEREFORE IF IT IS TRUE THEY COMMITED A CRIME, LUMBA AND CADRES ALIKE SHOULD BE VISITED BY THE LAW, NO EXCUSES. WE NEED A DECENT SOCIETY.

  13. #13 cm, the problem is that the policemen are only capable of finding non MMD members guilty. This is a very sad development in Zambia. Managni really believes MMD will rule for ever. He does not ask himself what would happen to him if MMD was removed from power, considering his unprofessional conduct. How is it surely possible for the people to masquerade as policemen? How can we even trust policemen when their uniforms can just be used like that.

  14. problem is that very few intelligent Zambians voice out their political opinions. We need more Walubitas to drive the message home.

  15. Goodluck Jo I agree with you on that one. We need the youth to speak out and challenge the MMD for answers. Every citizen must have the right to voicing an opionion. Keep it up Kelly.

  16. Uyu chipe Mangani, where is he from?? Beating up our people for personal gain is not acceptable! I am now into this thing and willing to switch on my server for free blogging and good people are free to uplaod.Let me know what you think and i will have it up by next week!!

This is too much for our country. FTJ should be very ashamed! KK is keeping his mouth shut but obviously chi Banda had a deal with him (FTJ) and its a shame really. Please Bashi Castrol, go and write a thesis for your second doctorate which will target improving lives in Zedee. Please, we have Dambiso Moyo and all of us in foreign land who needs good jobs back home which chi Banda is handing out to other Bandas! common, this is not on!

  17. Can Zed change this approach to politicking. There is just too much bitterness and frustration which is likely to culminate into gross violation of ordinary citizens’ freedom of expression. Common sense tells that, it is normal to be bitter when one feels losing out. But a loss is also an indicator of need to improve and do better in future. If the ruling party is indeed behind the harrasment of opposition leaders as a sign of bitterness, the detentions may only serve to increase opposition sympathy and reduce chances of recorvering the losses by 2011. More opposition sympathy. Better lose and remain sober, while making further strategies.

  18. Force and Fear is only applied when one can not ‘Win the Heart’. There is still room to win voters’ hearts without using Force and Fear.
