United Liberal Party (ULP) president Sakwiba Sikota has expressed concern over the decision by the Global Fund to transfer disbursements of funds for life saving interventions directly to procurement agents following the Fund’s suspension of grants to the Ministry of Health.

Mr Sikota said he doubts if the new Principal Recipient, the United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) can handle the Ministry’s 2019s responsibilities.

Mr Sikota said he also doubts if there is any Non Governmental Organization that has the capacity to handle issues in the realm of treatment.

He noted that there is no NGO that is better placed than government to handle the issue of people’s health in the country.

Mr Sikota bemoaned that the suspension of funding to the Ministry of Health is saddening because the ordinary Zambians would suffer the repercussions.

Mr Sikota , however, said he is hopeful that government will next month when parliament resumes its sittings make a comprehensive statement on the matter.

  1. Just why do we want to intrust our peoples lives in the hands of other people; they also have their own people to look after, such kind of thinking doesnt fit any govt leader; we must rethink who should look after our own families, we must use our resources wisely; stop crying think of ways of saving those lives;; take money from Chiluba and also from Kapoko ,Chibanda ,Kalumba ,Chungu and many more others cleanup your house

  2. Sikota you should be ashamed. Thats not your money nor it is MMD money. Your gonvernment missuse the global fund money for corruption related activities. If it were me I would stop funding you thieves. You must even thank them for having just trasfered the money to UNDP. Be ashamed that you steal the money meant for saving lives of poor Zambians. You MMD and your minions go to south Africa for treatment. Sikota I am really dissapointed with you man.[-([-([-(

  3. Yes we the poor shall continue suffering but its nice for the top guys to continue going south for their medicals! sikota is not the right guy to say anything about this. he should just shut up.
What difference does it make if the same money ends up in the pockets of the MMD?

  4. Tell Mr Vasco Dagama Banda that we need more silence and less violence. Other neigbouring countries are at a high space developing while we get entertained by thefts and courruption and the common man feels the pain. The poor are in masses and they are the people political parties have mandates to work for simply meaning all these murderers and the rest in politricks take advantage. Days are numbered……remember.

  5. Our main focus, as a country , is to deal firmly with those thieves who are denting our image.People who have been stealing this money are known at ministry headquarters, provincial ,districts, hospitals and clinics. There many people who live beyond their means in these institutions!!!!!

  6. Sikota you see why we never wanted you to become UPND President, you are a shame young man,you have swallowed your own vomit, you are a disgrace.Just admit that you are thieves together with your Bwezani Banda.Sikota just shut up,you were busy supporting Bwezani, with Nawakwi and today you are regretting,we saw this coming.Shame on you useless bootlicker.clown.

  7. #6 you din’t want Sikota because you are a demn tribalist TONGA moreover you have sold you ****ing Party to PF.

  8. Who talked about Tribalism, its you who is a tribalist am Bemba for your information and a proud PF/UPND supporter,Sikota your party president would have killed UPND we saw it coming.Nawaki is always now condemning Bwezani,so is your party sikota and Kaunda,Bwezani has brought shame on our country cause of such people like you Shi Bwalya the tribalist.

  9. Sikota has nothing to worry about because our government is doing everything to take care of our sick people both locally and abroad. Everything is under control. Do not panic for nothing. Our medical institutions have all medicines needed to maintain a healthy nation. Sikota is just being political

  10. Bootlicker has no worries about food.
You can see by his image that he is a fat bastard well fed on taxpayer funds.

  11. Obama, don’t worry about shi Bwalya, some planted F00l trying to create tribal tension. Bootlicker is a comedian appointed by the MMD to entertain bloggers. Call his words satire and enjoy your weekend. Sikota wants to be a able to both beg and choose, that is his punch line at the comedy club. What shi Bwalya, Sikota and Bootlicker have in common is a lack of integrity.

  12. sikota you are so naive though well educated. The decision is purely to save the intended target that is the people who need the services and drugs. Corruption does not pay and this is what it mean when the corruption is to high.If Sikota you want political appointment from Rupiah Banda just support him during elections time. Kapoko is just a small fish. In 2001, Chiluba used the same money for compaigns and elections. for levy. Banda 2008 used the ministry of health money. 2010 MMD has used the money meant for salaries for civil servants for mufumbwe by elections since ministry of health the funding is tight. sikpta get real and don’t just make comments without reflecting or understanding what has led to make this decision

  13. Come 2011, on that D-Day, the imminent fateful day for mmd, the mighty 4 Ds come into effect-Disrupt Dismantle Defeat and Destroy mmd. With their bubbles burst and the carrot having suddenly stopped dangling, Boot licker, senior citizen and cohorts whom unfortunately have burnt so many bridges because of their menacingly, ferocious pro-incumbent propagandist spin-doctor demeanors, whose senseless insatiable vampirism appetite make them Zed public foes, traverses the following metamorphosis: Shock-grief-bewilderment-dejection and finally into oblivion( back to nothingness, worse than before)and become mere statistics.
