Namulambe decides to remain mute on Levy’s legacy

Share

Gabriel Namulambe

Mines and Mineral Development Deputy Minister, Gabriel Namulambe, has preferred to remain mute on his defense of late Republican President, Levy Mwanawasa’s legacy.

In an interview with QFM, Mr. Namulambe said he would not want to involve himself into politics barely a week after his reappointment as Deputy Minister.

He said being a Local Council man, he is still trying to understand how the Ministry of Mines operates.

He said he wanted to concentrate on business and developmental issues rather than discussing politics which do not yield any results afterwards.

Mr. Namulambe said whatever he had said earlier concerning the legacy of late President Levy Mwanawasa should not be brought back to public discussion because it is over.

He asked the reporter to find out views from Civil Society Organizations and some Non Governmental Organizations so that he hears what they have to say, hoping to make a response afterwards.

He added that politicians like Mr. William Banda and some opposition political parties must make comments on his reappointment, and not himself.

Early this year, President Rupiah Banda had relieved Mr. Namulambe of his duties as Science and Technology Minister for protecting the legacy of late President Levy Mwanawasa, but recently reappointed him as Deputy Minister of Mines.

  1. He sounds like a man that lacks a back-bone. When you are in public service, it will be expected that your past will come to revisit you. Anyway; I hope he does a great job as Deputy Minister in whatever his duties may be in that position.

  2. At the height of the One Party State, only the FROG could stand against KK. I wonder what historians will be writing about the frog in Future when they start reviewing archived ballot papers. Where were all the humans? They will ask.
This has nothing to do with the late President . He did the best he could for the Country, under the circumstances. I have a lot of respect for him.

  3. That is the reason I will never join politics in Zambia because the terrain there is littered with creepy creatures of the dark worse than wild dogs that feed on regurgitated food, in other words vomit. Namulambe has no backbone at all, just how could he so easily allow himself to be fired only to be returned with his tail tuckd clean over his smelly prat devoid of any honourable statue in society and fully Kansundila complient? This is neauseating. These are all pathetic standards that were set in Zambian politics by one Godfoolish Miyanda who upon being fired as VEEP acceptable to be Minister of Education in the same government. Bu stu.p.i. di.ty mu Zambia bwafulisha saana sure.

  4. Bitting the Finger that is feeding you! Even if the Finger is dirty, do not bite it! This is what Namulambe is saying! As others have commented, he has no backbone!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Life pa Zed is rough ‘wazomba walyanshi? He probably has unfinished projects so without allowances he would be stuck. It cost nothing to eat your vomit.

  6. That is a wise move Nalubambe. As the English say; if you can’t beat them join them. It is hard to become leader in Zambia and Africa direct from outside.
Just like the opposition leaders have failed to make it to plot one because it is not easy. Mr Nalubambe can now start the fight inside. Mpombo made a wise move but not effective enough, if his aim was to fight the ruthless Rupiah. You can’t fight from out side not in Africa.
Tswangirai has gone in and fight from within. You saw what happened when he fought form outside they beat the s h i t out of him several times. If HH had joined MMD the time of Mwanawasa today he would be be president no doubt about it. Even Joseph in the bible he joined them and acted from within. It is therefore good to be wise because African leaders feel…

  7. ……if praised than ridiculed or corrected. The clever guys Mabenga, William Banda, VJ, name it. they just give praise and the president is always smiling. Africa and Zambia in particular is not ready for intellectuals as leaders. Because the majority voters can’t see the value of intellects. A person of Obama calibre standing for president in Zambia,People will say kaleumfwa sana( pompous) but poeple of Sata see the crowed. But if a person of Sata’s calibre had to stand in USA you know the answer…….—:) :d:)>-

  8. 100% ba KK11. Pa Can we also just say that our education system has really failed. There is illiteracy ya kufwa nayo pa Zed. Rationality is scorned and Irrationality/emotionalism are praised pa Zed.

  9. Zambia is bigger than any individual and her interests must take precedence. If anything, the Zambian people will never survive on the ego of individual or indeed the delusions of armchair critics. Namulambe has a country to serve and party to defend its interest. In whose interest would individualistic constellations be for?

An institution without norms, obligations and codes would never enter or indeed hold power. It takes allegiance and unity of purpose to stay the course.MMD is a big tent of many with many mansions for everyone. As a national mass party it will continue being an institution of diversity and tolerance but with allegiance on shared purpose.

  10. HUNGER FORCES NAMULAMBE TO BE MUTE

It`s a pity that our politics are stomach based and not on any principles.

  11. Wonder how many so called Ministers are mute concerning what they believe in for the sake of holding onto a job. This is indeed a sorry state of politics. Vasco Dagama Banda has managed to pressure almost everyone in MMD just like it was during UNIP.

  12. NAMULAMBE.

You had the B.A.L.L.S to be real about Levy.
    You paid the price too.

Now you have been retained again but under the Rupiah legacy.
    Now you have no B.A.L.L.S!

    You sell out rodent.

  13. Namulambe is a true patriot who puts the nation before personal ego. All useless armchair critics just hiding behind computer keyboards are miserable cowards because you waffle your rubbish on computers only and not traverse the ground. Even where most of you are flipping burgers and wiping restaurant table, you are stagnant in life because you are cowards.Go on the ground and prove your texture than hallucinating here cowardly as armchair critics.

  14. Veteran
The world has changed as a result of an individual person having an idea, that is irrefutable through out the history of man both on the positive and the negative.
You also contradict yourself on your comments about arm chair computer bloggers, Am I wrong in observing that you are the most incessant blogger on this site, or are you employed to do this?

  15. #7 that is why Zambia is Zambia and USA is USA. Please dont forget that context is very important when analysing issues. USA has passed the stage where Zambia is. The fact is that over 80% of USA citizens are literate, while in Zambia over 80% are illiterate. This simple fact shows you that the two countries are exact opposites of each other. This however does not mean that Zambia does not need intellectuals, but it just gives you a sense of what to expect. We had levy who was a lawyer by profession, but even him was reduced to cheap politics of personal attacks because of the environment he was in. VG is an educated man but look at him, RB is educated Look at him.

  16. Sata even behaves better than RB. Unlike VJ and RB sata has shown some traits of focussed leadership in as much as he is not an intellectual. I think what makes Sate receive all the support he receives even from intellectuals and a few literate people that Zambia has, is simply based on his wisdom.
(this view is backed going by the fact that he received and still enjoys much support from the capital city and the Copperbelt which are the two most developed provinces in Zambia with the two universities)

  17. what is levy compared to family poverty? politics of poverty are always like that. Namalumbe is finished now. he will never say anything.

  18. #5 and #21 Cause and effect unquestionable. Both your posting make up the reason Gaby is recapitulating. The old guard will soon die out and the new blood will come in. But lest the old infect the new before their exit, we have to vaccinate against this cancer of the mind.

  19. Turn against the reigning establishment at yr own peril. This holds true for African democracies and Zambia in particular. If u have beef with them, they’ll squeeze you, economically or otherwise. Reason why principles, guts, integrity, honor and trust are expensive commodities to find among Zambian politicians who are good at flip –flopping. This is exacerbated by the fact that our African democracies are a mere window- dressing. We do not have real independent structures in place to uphold individuals’ democratic rights, as the president has absolute power and any dissenting view, a healthy aspect in a democracy is intolerable

  20. By the way, now that Namulambe is back in the fold, and there`s talk about Mwanwasa Jr to contest Mpombo`s seat on an MMD ticket , we would like to hear from the Lambaland Royal estabilsments whether or not they still stick to their guns of vote against MMD come 2011. They need to come clean on this one `cos muteness `ll cause a dark cloud of suspicion hanging over them. We hope there haven’t been any night time political machinations

  21. i guess the young man cant be blamed much with the current political state.mind you william banda is a star because of praising RB day in day out, what about mumbi the sell out,the list is endless,i mean how do u explain the silence when a minister shoots someone but they all have something to say when there is a snubbing of a hand shake and getting massive air space in the public media.i rest my case.

  22. Zambian Politics you want to eat and enjoy Shut the **** up!!!! and support the current president otherwise you are out He will find you and follow your to constituency and fight you from there and finsh you. He siad it so keep quiet and NEVER SAY THE TRUTH

  23. Some people are so cheap in our societies, they are like mopping cloths where today when you do not need it you can through it in the sun as if it is so useless to you just to realise the following morning that you need it to clean your floor. Namulambe is such a door mat indeed, now that RB wants to win the Lambas he needs Namulambe for support. Thats why I say in politics you need to have a standing on your own or rather have your own source of butter because you can become a door man.

  24. Just to make sure that you all know that Advisor #28, is different from Adviser – who features here frequently. And by the way #28 – Namulambe was just an overzealous young man who needed to be disciplined — and this was done very well. Now that he has learnt his lesson, it is time to appoint him to a junior position. Most likely he went apologizing for his mistake. This happens all the time everywhere. So, whether you say doormat, vomit or whatever – it is just because it does not suit you not that it is illogical.

  25. Namulambe bamu bwesesha akalambe. Ati, nika Namulambe ela! nika Namulambe ela!…….. nomba twalamona ewo alapela.

  26. It is not the voters fault that zambian politricks sucks………the current crop of leadership is total crap.

  27. Its like all of you bloggers here don’t know a thing about who the real Namulambe is.

The guy is a witch, if you want to know more about Namulambe ask the Mpongwe district commissioner.

The chap threatened to bewitch the president if he was not brought back. Watch this space, you will prove me right.

  28. that’s is how low these poeple called lambas are . pure trash. nothing to write about. the idot cant stand the pressure so he apologizes and begs for a job. beggars thats what they are

  29. All these politicians have no credibility based on the current leadership…! They are simply job seekers, opportunists that like anybodoy else would do whatever it takes to better themselves…but unfortunately these guys do it at the expense of hard working Zambians!!. This unfortunate situation has been the norm and sadly it continues to. The Movement for Mass Destruction (MMD) has scandal after scandal…yet some how they are voted in. Zambia has no fresh blood politically and the politics of 1964 will continue to stall our development through washed up politicians. The justice system is shambolic, key prominent politicians have huge issues with the law yet they do not resign to save face…whats happening in our political circles is simply a joke…………!:-w

  30. He has learnt the hard way. A public leader has to be carefull . If he had acted like that under Mwanawasa ( that is questioning him while in power) he would have been kicked out in a snap of the finger

  31. angachite bwanji ! He has a mouth ….and he is hungry ….and the food is there . . . . .you fools

  32. Namulambe wanted a Job. He went back to plead with RB. Now he does not want to discuss something that he was trying to defend. Spineless namulambe, this shos people go into Politics to enrich themselves not for principals.
