Parliamentary Chief Whip Vernon Mwaanga listen to Russian Ambassador to Zambia Boris Malakhov in Lusaka recently

Russian Ambassador to Zambia Boris Malakhov says Zambia’s position as a landlocked country is an advantage for regional economic development. The Ambassador said Zambia having eight neighbouring countries makes its position favourable to become a hub for producing energy and other goods to export to its neighbours.

The Ambassador was speaking at a Dinner in Luapula Province hosted recently after a conducted joint tour of the province with his counterpart South African High Commissioner to Zambia Moses Chikane.

Mr. Malakhov noted that Zambia can also benefit from the high prospects of regional integration under the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

And Mr Chikane said South Africa will remain grateful to Zambia for its contribution to that country’s political liberation struggle adding his country will now stand with Zambia to seek economic liberation.

At the same occasion, Luapula Province Permanent Secretary Jazzman Chikwakwa told the two ambassadors that the province is endowed with vast potential for tourism, agriculture and mining.

Mr. Chikwakwa said the province has the best manganese in the world hence the need for investors to exploit the mining sector in a bid to foster development in the area.

While in Luapula, the two envoys visited Lake Bangweulu Beach in Samfya,Kabwelume and Ntumbachushi falls in Kawambwa.

  1. KUNDA & Nationl Security
The current government will not rest until they have gotten the last breath out of the sick man we have a VP. What baffles me rather than annoy me is the fact that George seem to believe in his head that RB and MMD has the power to extend his life here on earth! Kunda’s mind has degenerated to that of a child and his illusion over many important national policies is perceived as such. I dont wanna wish him bad, I just want him to have enough rest and avoid putting himself out there like that. Could it be that MMD has resolved that Kunda has nothing to lose after all so he may as well take the blow?

  2. that is what we have always said , but our leaders donot see that Zambia must have industry to manufacture, than send out unfinished goods it is manufacturing that will save our economy not the raw matirial,

  3. Well we have always know this since Grade 7 social studies and Grade 8 Civics. The question is when are our leaders going to unlock value in this hidden asset we have as a nation?

  4. 4. I think ba Mwanga kale bafwa, what we are now seeing is an ghost in the making. Just look at him. The hair, the face and what is he looking at?

  5. This can only be realized when Zambian leaders start putting Zambians first to develop the human capital. It makes sense that the hub of Southern African in many aspects could be our beloved country. Alas, our politicians are busy calling each other names and engaging in childish politics every chance they get.

  6. For as long as we have this crop of pathetic *****s in Govt misleading the nation, Zambia will always remain behind the help from the outsiders who are also good for nothing!
