Second republican president Dr Frederick Chiluba has accused the British government of hypocrisy.
Dr Chiluba’s spokesperson Emmanuel Mwamba said it is a pity that the sovereignty of Zambia is not being respected.
He said that the donors in Zambia should respect the dignity of Zambia as it is an independent country.
In an interview with QFM, Mr Mwamba further accused the British government of trying to use Dr Chiluba as an example to punish former heads of state cited in corruption.
He added that as much as the donors help in alleviating poverty in Zambia, the country should be respected.

I think the bottom line to zambia’s current problem is that foreigners with no passion are leading the country. KK was a foreigner who was born born in zambia and patriotism could be seen. The biggest problem has been with foreigners born outside zambia. They have no passion to see Zambia develop. I do not think an appeal is the best solution for Chiluba’s case. Whether an appeal is done or not,nothing will come out of these corrupt courts. It will just be a formality as these courts do not stand by the wishes of people.The best is whoever wins in next years election,apart from Banda,should open a docket under International Court of Justice. Let a short man be taken to Hague for a fair trial. What he commited was a crime against humanity. Let him be tried like an international criminal. He thinks Banda will continue shielding his criminal activities. Crime cannot be hidden no matter the cover that one uses. 2011 is coming and justice will surely prevail over injustice.
