Bonetti Delays Return, Again

Share

Dario Bonetti’s return to Zambia has again been postponed.

Radio Phoenix quoting Faz today reported that the absent Zambia national team coach and his three assistants return to take up their duties next week has been postponed.

This is because the Cosafa Senior Challenge Cup which Bonetti was expected to lead Zambia to in Angola has been cancelled after the 2010 hosts failed to give Cosafa the necessary guarantees for the staging of the event.

Bonetti has not returned to Zambia since Zambia beat Yemen 1-0 away in a friendly international on September 18.

The Italian later linked up with the team in Rome ahead of their October 10 Africa Cup Group C qualifying match against Libya that his side lost 1-0 before returning to his homeland after the loss.

Bonetti also failed to attend the Caf/Fifa World Cup 2010 Symposium held in Egypt last week for African national team coaches and instead Faz technical director Honor Janza and Zambia assistant coach Lucky Msiska attended the three-day workshop.

  1. well i don’t think this guy knows why he was hired. Renard was even better coz he tried his best with the team. Bonetti should be fired together with his three assistants because he supposed to be organizing the team. last minute things never workout especially with zambian players. i understand why katongo delayed coming, the coach does the same.

  2. SHAME SHAME SHAME ON FAZ, OUR GOVERMENT

why hire foreigners when we have strong personal who can do the same job, instead we go to colonial fools like bonneti who have no track record in football except for being sacked by 5 different teams.

  3. Acoodrding to wiki:In all his whole playing career in the Serie A, Dario Bonetti was suspended for a total of 39 matches, this being as of 2009 an absolute record. Is this the kind of character you choose to coach your national team, kalu li tole nao

  4. i dont feel sorry for you people coz this is what you deserve. you vilified renard so much so that one would be forgiven for thinking that he was the devil incarnate. just the same way you have latched on to your next victim kalusha.

  5. Bonita is just doing what the ‘romans’ in zed do.Galu lives AWOL, so why should’nt he?The solution is to remove Galu from FAZ.

  6. Enough about the gret Kalu escapadez. Maybe this Bonetti iz just following what the termz of reference state in hiz contract.

  7. The coach being a foreigner should live in the country so that he can be familiar with the Zambian culture
You can’t work effectively with the team if you’re not familiar with the culture
For instance before dropping the Katongo bros the coach should have talked with them not on phone but physically
But how was that going to be possible?By the way the Katongo bros are very disciplined and always there whenever called for national dulties. In my opinion they deserved a ‘yellow card’not a ‘red card’
I’ve brought up the past Katongo issue so that it don’t repeat itself in future and that the coach should come back in order to be familiar with our culture

  8. bonnettie is not different from kalusha both are absentee landlords running FAZ business by remote thats why great galu has been rejected by all well meaning soca fans

  9. Mwamona aba bafitolilo mutola fye mumusebo ati ni ba coach. Why can’t f..kn FAZ wake up and employ our own pipo.Patrick did a better job than even uyu chikala waya ,ati nani uyu… Renar.
Lets get our owwn pipo.Ngafilwa bakeshiba ifyakulondolola than ba mwisa.

  10. Fellow Zambians, let us leave the coach alone. We do not know what is in his contract. However, his employers (FAZ) owe the nation an explanation on what is going on

  11. what is going on with our new coach? did he start coaching online. what about our players who are computer illiterate? what are they going to do with correspondence soccer. is he sending pamphlets? someone should tell me what is kicking with faz.
