A YOUTH Organisation has said Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata is a wrong person to talk about leadership change which he has failed to initiate in his own political party.

Reacting to Mr Sata’s statement in the SUNDAY POST that Zambia needed a new leadership, Leadership In Development (LID) executive director Moses Kalonde said in an interview yesterday that it was wrong for Mr Sata to think he was the right person for leadership change because he was a recycled politician who had outlived his usefulness.

“Mr Sata should not talk about leadership change and think he is the right person to take up that change. Mr Sata has even failed to initiate leadership change in his own political party and as youths we are urging him to first clean up the mess in PF before thinking of calling for leadership change because he is not even the right person for that change anyway,” Mr Kalonde said.

He said when Mr Sata was in Government, he was allegedly on top of tribalism, nepotism unaccountability and even corruption which he said led to the late Levy Mwanawasa resigning from Government.

“Mr Sata should realise that his talk for leadership change can only be appreciated if he himself retires from politics and grooms a younger politician to take over from him from within the PF, otherwise his statement is empty,” Mr Kalonde said.

Mr Kalonde said the PF leader had been in politics for a long time and should not blame anyone for any failure but he should admit that if leaders in the country had failed, he was also part of that failure.

He said as MMD national secretary, the youths had not forgotten how he treated the 22 Members of Parliament(MPs), describing the move as Mr Sata’s typical way of leadership.

He said it was Mr Sata’s insatiable appetite for State House which had caused him to become blind to the development taking place in the country under President Rupiah Banda.

He said Mr Sata was the most tribal politician in the country whose party had even failed to have MPs in provinces such as Western and North-Western.

Mr Kalonde observed that in 2006, Mr Sata decided to get into an alliance with the United Liberal Party(ULP) president Sakwiba Sikota because he wanted him to help the PF win in Western Province as he knew that he could not manage to capture any votes from that province on his own.

“The PF has also failed to contest Parliamentary seats in North-Western Province because of Mr Sata’s tribal stance. He only has MPs in Northern Province, Luapula and the Copperbelt. This is how tribal he is,” he said.

He said LID would not want to believe in Mr Sata’s inconsistence.

  1. MR SATA IS A SPENT POLITICIAN WITH NO INITIATIVE OF HIS OWN, HE IS A COWARD. DURING THE STRUGGLE FOR INDEPENDENCE SATA WAS A COP WORKING FOR WELENSKY ARRESTING FREEDOM FIGHTERS. DURING THE BIRTH OF MMD SATA WAS THE LASTMAN TO LIVE UNIP BCOS HE WAS TOO SCARED AND DURING THIRD TERM FOR FTJ BA SATA HOUNDED EVERYONE OUT OF MMD AND REMAINED ALONE WITH FTJ UNTIL HE WAS DRIBBLED THATS WHEN HE FORMED PARTY FOR KAPONYAS PF

  2. Pipo always feel so disturbed to the mention of sata’ name?i wonder what this kalonde thing is promised or how much he’ been paid.LT naimwe u should learn what kind of stories to quote, such are jus mmd sympathisers.always tryin to paint others bad.how about bringing someone to comment on sata’ successes in mmd and zambia as a whole for a change.with such opinions,i would say pathetic reading.am no pf/upnd but jus concerned with such sentiments.

  3. Why have you left Central and Lusaka Provinces where PF has also Mps? PF did not feature any Mps in the other provinces as they were left to partners who apparently performed badly. PF has the capacity to field in candidates in all 150 constituencies across the country and believe me they will pick one or two from these other provinces apart from their strong holds.

  4. Moses Kalonde is simply stating the truth as it stands. Though he has ommitted a few things that does not water down the importance of his message.

  5. Even myself i would not want to believe in Mr Sata’s inconsistence. If anyone cared to read the history of this Cobra Snake, one would discover what a disaster he has been, as for giving him the presidence, even satan the Devil would clebrate as Zambia would be hell on earth. Just take alook at how PF is run, It has been in existance for almost 10 years now no convention or internal elections. He handpicks everybody. Like it or not PF is tribal in nature and sata is not the change we need, far from it.

  6. #7 So what sort of change do you need, bearing in mind the elections are 4 months away. No change should not be an option and tribal comments are just undeserving.

  7. Satan will die dreaming that one day he will become a president of Zambia. He is even luck to stay as president of the kaponyas party for a long time maybe just bcoz of his dictatorship rule

  8. LT we already know who is a good leader and who is not. Who is old an d should retire? why they should retire! Now you should focus on showing your readers the political, economic and social developmental issues the candidates who are running for next years elections what to promote. What are the opposition parties agenda? How are they going to meat these goals? What are they going to different/better than the MMD? How are they going to do it? As a future voter that is what i am interested in?

  9. Politicians are all the same Sata RB etc, they will say anything just to get a vote. So this silly NGO should understand that this tribe called POLITICIAN is more crafty than a bemba

  10. # 12 Does PF have a memeber of Parliament in Kabwe?

If you want we can give PF 100% support for Kabwe but still central province is bigger than Kabwe. In 2006 and 2008 pf was leading in Kabwe just like Copperbelt urban. But what we are saying these areas will never see PF in Sate House period. Its not a secret please. these are unfortunately hard facts and quite bitter to swallow. Yes even in 2011 PF may lead in Kabwe URBAN just like Copperbelt Urban but really this will not take you to state house.

  11. May be Mr.Sata was referring to change which will come by voting HH who will bring the real change, he may be right.

  12. @ 14 15 Please Gladys Nyirongo is no longer an MP. I thought you chaps in Europe have access to all the info about your politics in Zambia. Kabwe Urban is composed of Bwacha, Kabwe Central and the two seats are under PF

  13. #14
EASY DOES IT- You actually miised the point. I wasnt sayin Sata would go to State House. I was only clarifying a point. Your reaction to my answer leaves no room to a decent debate.

  14. I still get amazed to hear that some people still dream that sat one day can rule my beloved mother Zambia they guy is a spent politician Who has outlived his usefullness he fuud and arrogantly hounded that group of wise 22mps who faught satan tricks of third term. I pray he rots in he’ll we don’t want the stu.pod tribalism u had where the cabinet was Bemba .u painted a bad image for us.am Bemba but a wise and educated one so I don’t want to see a Bemba in state house for 29yrs. Stupids thieves.no apology. Pf kaponya boogers comme on I will take on u.no apology

  15. I agree with #4. It appears LT is bent on twisting facts. They are MMD campaign too like Times Zambia, Daily Mail and ZNBC. They are now panicking and all they can do is to start telling lies such as these. Shame on you. Like it or not I will vote for a candidate of our choice not RB
