The City of Ndola could have an unprecedented four teams in the Faz Super Division next season.

For decades, the Copperbelt Provincial capital has traditionally contributed one or two team’s with three being the highest number in the 2009 and in 2007 seasons when Zesco United, Forest Rangers and Zamtel FC made the numbers in the 16-team Super Division.

In 2011, this seasons’ league favorites Zesco and their rivals from Dola Hill, Forest will be joined by two teams from Division 1 North.

Lime Hotspurs and army club Kalewa will both be playing in the Super Division next season after finishing first and second on the Division 1 North table respectively level on 63 points after 34 games played.

Both promoted clubs will also be making their debut in the Super Division.
However, Forest need to up their game in their remaining two fixtures to make the prospect of four-team representation in the Super Division next season a reality.

Forest are currently 5th from bottom on the table with just one point separating them from 13th placed Choma Eagles on 30 and 29 points respectively.

Both of Forest’s final two fixtures will be at home at Dola Hill starting with Kabwe Warriors this weekend in Week 29 and title chasing Green Buffaloes on the final day against whom they drew 1-1 and 0-0 respectively in their first league meetings this season.

  1. Zambia Chipuba Caonaula Mine (ZCCM) killed us! We had Nkana, Power, Mutondo Stars and Mindola United from Kitwe. Ba Kitwe United nabo from Ba Council! We used to watch “Iya Ba Second,” i.e. B Teams before the A Teams and competition to play in the A team was stiff! That is where we need to go if we are to be what were before! Ba Vitaform na Vincent Chileshe Ba Ndola nabo balipwa!

  2. Forest could restore my Brave Rangers’ hopes of playing continental soccer in 2011 by beating Buffaloes in one of their two remaining gamez. So go Forest, deep in the forest, goal!

  3. #2 Right on. The Midlandz only had Kabwe Warriors or and sometimez Kabwe United, GBFC, Red Arrows and may be City of Lusaka and Lusaka Tigers in the elite Division 1 of 20 teamz, while the rest were from the Copperbelt- Blades, Brave, Mighte, Blackpool, Butondo Western Tigers, Nkana, Kitwe United, Roan, Ndola, Mutondo Stars, Vitafoam, Strike Rovers to mention but a few.

  4. I never used to support nkana those days, but now even if they dont play well ,I just support because I have realised that they are the owners of zed league with 10 tittles under their belt, have the large passionate supporters. nowadays even if zanaco wins the league I know they cant go anywhere in africa. I pray that mighty mufulira wanders can one day come back to zed top league. I used to enjoy watching them at nchanga although they were a difficult team to beat.often they would come and beat my team at home there in chingola. But it appears thoz days have gone and appear to have gone for good.

  5. Congratulations to Kalewa FC you have made the mark now real tough games await us in 2011 Amore HARDA GENTLEMEN\:d/

  6. Ndola used to have a lot more teams in the premier back in the day,

    1.Ndola United
    2.Vitafoam
    3.Strike Rovers
    4.Forest Rangers
    and at times
    5 Forest Rangers.

  7. Nkana will always be nkana, that team is great just as it’s town kitwe. i got big plans for that team,if GOD Blesses i will sponsor that team 1 day. Gone are the days when we used to watch nkana every year in an african tournament, playing with teams like Asante kotoko,Club africana etc,and nowadays no one even cares about our glorious and most celebrated football club in our nation. we’ll bring back our club to it?s form just give us time to stand on our feets. God bless y?all.

  8. Yes guys ( 4, 5 &11). One day we will be like Katumbi of TP Mazembe and we will be sponsoring Nkana. I was disheartened to hear from a friend who was in the financial dept of Mopani when he told me that they were giving Nkana $5,000 a month when Mopani bought the mines! He told me then that the senior managers were geting $16,000 a month! TP Mazembe bought young Mbola at $200,000 cash! I think Zambia Chinangwa Caonaula Mine (ZCCM!)
