Msiska Gets To Work Despite Bonetti Storm

Lucky Msiska will wear two hats this week, at least temporarily, with both the senior and Under-23 teams.

The local press has been awash as to whether Msiska will be part of the bench for Zambia’s friendly on December 31 against Kuwait in Cairo besides Dario Bonetti.

This is after he had a highly publicized bust up with Bonetti at Zambia’s Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup quarterfinal exit at the hands of Ethiopia.

Msiska put the storm behind him this afternoon took Zambia through their paces after early taking care of Under-23 duty earlier in the morning that he is preparing for the 2011 All-Africa Games first leg qualifier against Zimbabwe on January 8 in Lusaka.

“I will train the team for two days .I am here to serve my country and I don’t want to talk about that (Bonetti) issue again. I am here to work that’s all and not to get into politics,” Msiska said.

Msiska will not travel to Cairo and will instead revert to his duties preparing the Under-23 for the match against Zimbabwe.

Nchanga Rangers coach Bruce Mwape is in temporal charge of the Under-23 before Msiska returns on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 12 players out of 18 trained with Msiska at Lusaka Club with three more expected to join the team on Tuesday ahead of departure for Egypt on Wednesday morning.

Notable of the foreign players in camp were Isaac Chansa, Rainford Kalaba, Joseph Musonda and Signs Chibambo.

South African-based Goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene and Noah Chivuta will link-up with the team in Cairo on Wednesday after flying directly from Johannesburg.

Bonetti will also join the team in Cairo on the same day from his Italian base.

  1. @#1 Advisor, i totally agree with you. This Bonetti is a joker and FAZ need to do something. Bonnetti and his two other coaches are supposed to be in Zambia conducting the traininng and also checking talent around, watching games and speaking to players. He has a full-time job which he should owner. on this one please kALU DO SOMETHING Enough is enough. can a Zambian get a job somewhere and be treated the way Bonetti is being treated, those working overseas really work for the money. i guess even the dedicated Zambiasns work for their money. Bonetti is behaving like a professional soccer player who has club committment somewhere. we demand sanity!!!

  2. And when the POST comments we start firing all sorts of insults. this Bonetti has never coached a national team and his CV is weak

  3. # 2 well said, but better you change name so we can give you respect you deserve. But if this friendly came earlier, Ba Msiska should have used most of the under 23 for the game. Anyway, we know the South Rhodesians will go down 3-0.

  4. From my observation it seems Msiska is more dedicated to the team than Bonetti and I fail to understand why a hard working Zambian is not considered for the position of head coach. Please, may the powers that be look at this seriously.

  5. Thats the problem of employing a mafia to run yo team, so there you are. fyakuiywaila. We have a serious problem of choice in zambia.

  6. This chi Bonneti mafia who does not stay in zambia but trains the team by remote was brought by ka Galu who also does not stay in Zambia. These chaps we have been tellin u relatives & chola boyz of Galu that they dont care about zambia but their pockets. They only come to zed 4 business purposes

  7. The republican president does not live in the country, the Faz president does not live in the country. Why would you require a mere soccer coach and his 3 nephew assistant coaches to live in the country and do the duties when he can simply follow the trend and get paid anyways. When you are in Zambia, do what the Zambian leaders do.

  8. zambians should learn to trust and employ natives to be coaches like in Cameroon, Nigeria and many other countries. All the best my coach and good luck.

  9. Kamwendo Munjila has set standards very high in the sky. No wonder, Great Galu does not need to live in that flea infested doghouse of yours called Zambia when he can camp at his brand new second hand mafiossa’s house in Joburg. How it’s Bonnetti following suit, cant blame him, no way.

  10. in a nutshell, we still have a long way to go to overcome this colonial hangover: anything white = good, anything black = baaaad
reminds me of the time i was working in a hospital in south africa. at one time when we got one or two white doctors among the group coming to do their community service
guess what? for the first couple of weeks i had a relative holiday because my outpatients load suddenly dropped by upto 70% believe it or not. i did not understand it until the white kids started barging into my room with their patients for consultation and second opinion! crazy
it took these people a good couple of months to determine that they were better off seeing the older, more experienced black like them doctors

  11. This is a joke please fire that Bonetti why do you Zambians take all this nonsence how can he be always joining the team from Italy when he is supposed to be incharge of the team?? this honestly is rubbish at it’;s best!

  12. why are u complainin u chaps? U’r the same chaps who support this crook called GALU so just shut up! Thats what u wanted so why are u complainin with what yo master GALU single handedly brought u? Leave Bonetti & Kalu alone to enjoy after all they use to score free kicks

  13. You guys seem not to understand the conditions of short term contracts like the Italian coach signed. His contracts states clearly the dates when he takes his time-off regardless of the competion at hand. If one forfeits his leave days; the employer pays the employee 1.5 his annual salary for those few leave days. This is the reason why you hear many CEOs claiming huge sums of money from the company after their contracts end; its all about not going on leave when they were supposed to. Most of you seem not to understand the corporate world financial tricks.

  14. Gentlemen enough is enough, lets disband the national team , FAZ ,restructure the league (even play when its raining mulatimna infula!) and start with people who are serious with the game we love.am personnally tired of this circus we have.
