Am not violent, William Banda

Share

File:MMD Lusaka province chairman William Banda

MMD Lusaka province chairman, William Banda has described accusations that he is the main cause of violence in the country as nonsense.

Mr. Banda told QFM in an interview today that those accusing him of perpetuating violence during elections in the country risk facing the law if they do not desist from issuing false statements against him.

He says it is an offence for someone to accuse him of being behind violent activities in the country when his concentration is only in Lusaka province.

Mr. Banda wondered why people accuse him of being the perpetrator of violence when every province in the country has its own chairperson.

He has since challenged those accusing him of causing confusion to come out in the open and tell the nation what exactly they want from him instead of coming up with false allegations.

  1. Funny indeed. Zambia will never cease to amaze me. this William Banda has even the courage to say that he is not violent??? i like the politicians in the western countries, they have principle for their people and can even resign when they fail in certain areas

  2. What an admission of guilt. Quote: “He says it is an offence for someone to accuse him of being behind violent activities in the country when his concentration is only in Lusaka province.” So uyu kuswe should be hang by the balls for violence in Lusaka by his own admissiom. Or was something lost in translation?Ba Third World, third rate police commissioner, please get the shackles out and put this thing away.

  3. Dull william, he is only confirming that he is responsible for violence in lusaka but not other provinces. Just go to court if these accusations are false, dont tell us about threats kamambala iwe.

  4. William Banda, how can a normal person say “..am not violent in society, but only in my home?”. So you think Lusaka is not in Zambia, maybe it is capital of Barotseland where they are violent.

  5. Mr. Banda wondered why people accuse him of being the perpetrator of violence when every province in the country has its own chairperson… yes indeed the other chairpersons are doing their work of perpetrating violence!

  6. Why has W.Banda been in areas of By Elections that have had violence?

If he is only dealing with Lusaka then why was he at other elections this past year?
    Just to give instructions?

    he he

  7. Who was the leader of a GANG going around forcing people from their land in Lusaka?

Who has openly said they will fight and injure Zambians who oppose Rupiah?
Who has said they will take their Gang to other elections to support Rupiah.
Was it not his words to say he had 3000 cadres at his disposal?

Who organised the us loads of cadres to go to Mfumbwe?

  8. William Banda please don’t dare us (Zambians), wait until we take you to the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

luckily the International Criminal Court Chief prosecutor-Luis Moreno-Ocampois has been compiling all your political charged violent cases against innocent Zambians.

Just wait. We willl be extradited to the Hague, the best you can do is stop and repent before it is too late for you!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. “Mr. Banda wondered why people accuse him of being the perpetrator of violence when every province in the country has its own chairperson”.

Ba Banda mulichipuba. Two days ago you were with GK on the Copperbelt. So, you forgot that CB is not Lusaka.

Ba Banda, how many provinces are in Zambia? Nine. How provincial chairpersons does MMD have? Nine. How many have been accused of the same? No one apart from you. Ban boy. Probably you should find out why you are so bad before you start issuing these threats.

  10. JUNE 24 2010.

Recently, MISA Zambia appealed to the MMD leadership, including President Rupiah Banda, to check Mr. William Banda’s excesses, describing him as ‘a senior cadre with a reputation of thuggish behaviour dating back to his days as Lusaka District Governor, under the former ruling party, UNIP’.
And several other Civil Society Organizations and most Political Parties have been calling for President Rupiah Banda to control Mr. Banda on grounds that his political style has become a recipe for anarchy in the country

  11. If you’ve been on the stump in Zambia, you’ll know that unfortunately you need operatives like Banda. They are the king makers that will help you connect with the masses. All politicians use them, especially in the ‘high density’ areas where most votes come from. Otherwise you’ll be viewed with suspicion as ‘ba some of us’. Say, you want a vote from Chimwemwe; take Willie Nsanda.
