Lusaka Provincial Minister Charles Shawa (second l)

Lusaka Province Minister Charles Shawa says he happy that the long awaited construction of the Chongwe District Hospital has finally been completed.

Speaking when he toured the biggest health facility in the District today, Mr. Shawa said he was particularly pleased that the completed construction of the hospital was in line with government’s policy of providing health services as closer to the people as possible.

The Provincial Minister noted that the construction of the Health Centre in the district will ease the burden of people going to far flung areas to access health care.

The modern hospital has constructed at a total cost of about 7 billion kwacha by government.

He said the completion of the district hospital demonstrates government’s commitment in providing quality health care to its people in both urban and rural Zambia.

Mr. Shawa also stated that the construction of the District Hospital is in the right framework in the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s).

And District Medical Health Officer Dr. Lucky Msiska said the District hospital is a big achievement and pride for the Chongwe District.

  1. That is what Zambians want to see. The Zambian voters are not fo0ls. The opposition thought they would win by a tribal uprising or by default, they did not put into their plans the word development. They need to go back to the drawing board while sata is in retairement next year

  2. RB tiye tiye, rural voters are seeing roads, hospitals and schools! Yet Fred Mmembe would have you believe that these are all Levy’s projects which RB is somehow getting credit for? Abash insults, abash PF low IQ; viva RB/HH, viva progress!!!

  3. keep it up.and plz stop showing seriousness only in election years.also, thoz medical staff wil need decent accomodation.staff housing cud have been incorporatd in2 the project coz waiting for some unknown time/resources not very good approach.
4 me i dont care who startd the project, levy or rb.

  4. Keep up the good works Mr President, while jokers in PF are still daydreaming. We the voters know that a bird in hand is worth five in the bush.

  5. #3 Iwe Big pipe You ve made me laugh ati RB tiye tiye This one is a done deal for RB I dont know why some people want to create false hopes for themselves. N way for the sake of opposing. Tiye tiye nayi mpaka kumapeto

  6. #4…good comment and no doubt u are a good citizen…..let the government also indentify virgin lands and plan cities very well not just investing in already badly planned cities..lets learn to expand our horizons and look for new beginings in rural areas as well…

  7. You *****s, where is the hospital. All you can see are small models being demonstrated to an obviously obese guy. Can you see the structures behind them? Does it look like a construction site??? Cheap publicity!!!!

  8. MMD is a systemic institution that is managed on policies and continuity. Leaders come leaders and go but the policies they implement are for and by institution they preside on. FJT build on KK, Mwanawasa on FJT, RB building on Mwanawasa while the one to take over from RB in 2016 will continue building on RB’s vestures. It takes collective institutional will to keep resources on initiated projects. The absence of leadership would suffocate those projects with resource diversion. RB has shown tenacity, focus and will for national wide development to the shame of chronic vote losers.

  9. Vacuous Sata is being used to help sales of an embattled tabloid that has never delivered any candidate victory in contemporary democratic dispensation. Deluded Sata is not only in a political cul-de-sac, but clearly at risk of passing out with a final heart jam after taking a decisive democratic ballot rejection for his 5th time in a role. Now RB in a campaign overdrive national wide is ballot ready. Sata will be luck to reach Taiwan where he has already applied for a self imposed asylum on taking a 5th time ballot defeat. God forbid he is bound to take take a debilitating or lethal heart airlock this time around.

  10. Now the price is 7 billion kwacha and i thought last week it was 3.5 billion kwacha .. this is just all tooo confusing ,
LT how many of these hospitals are now complete , or are we talking about the same hospital with a REMIX version .
Are these all RB projects ? or were they LPM’s
if these hospitals are costing this kind of money , why in Gods name did we buy the mobile hospitals ,, WHY IS NO ONE ASKING THE QUESTIONS TO GOVERNMENT !!!!!

  11. #4, the question of whether a governmet project was started by Levy or RB is very important to PF. Levy’s projects under an unwritten rule are considered not MMD, infact they can even be viewed as PF since Levy was sympathetic to the POST newspaper like Mr Sata.

  12. This is how development is done ba PF. Get your writing pads and start taking down some notes. This is real development. How come PF never talks of having such plans. PF’s campaign strategy is always attack attack attack H.E.R.B. Voters are not interested in that. Voters are interested in development.

  13. Chongwe HOSPITAL, a hospital with 25 patients capacity?? MMD is just too much, why call Airstrips in Kasaba Bay and Chilubi Island as INTERNATIONAL airports, secondary schools as Technical Colleges, and all Teacher Training colleges as University of Advanced Education. All pastors are BISHOPS (Bishop Shikapwasha), DR. RB, DR William Banda, DR. Vera Chiluba. What the hell is wrong with Zambia?

  14. I will comment after I see the hospital in action. Big up MR BAMBA. Nanga #14 – very good comments – taduala of which mudziwa. How do you say that pa chinyanja? Kuti – You know exactly which diseases we are suffering from

  15. I want a clear picture of the hospital . I cant see it. also more importantly how many doctors and nurses to run it? Any specialist services etc. Chongwe and surrounding districts have superb rural health centres with operating theatres and equipment built way back in kaunda days but no one to run them or operate etc. It will be same with this white elephant hospital. Nonsense. they have a ka ma chieftainess there ( i wonder if she is still alive) who opposes development with tooth and claw. No shoprite no nothing, at night chongwe is a prostitution town.

  16. Interesting how a few chaps like #14,15,16 & 17 prefer to be critical of even the very best of positive developments. I’m sure you are alive to the fact that just like education, there’s been a massive deliberate recruitment drive for medical staff. This I believe you can independently verify from your tu ma relatives who live pa Zed. Don’t be so naïve as not to see this wave of development. By the way, over 10 more district hospitals and hundreds of district health centres are coming before elections. Don’t just be ndweeeeeeeeee!! Appreciate development

  17. The hospital in Chongwe is finally done if I am not mistaken the project hasa taken close to 10 years if not more. Probably it was started by FTJ and the loot stolen like the Shangombo hospital… Congrats to whoever started the project. Its a good development for the area whether started by UNIP or the colonialists……

  18. CHONGWE FINALLY HAS A HOSPITAL PREVIUOSLY THEY ONLY HAD A RURAL HEALTH CENTRE. A BIRD AT HAND IS BETTER THAN 5 IN THE BUSH. CAN MPANGULA MPTU GIMME A REASON WHY PIPO OF CHONGWE SHOULD VOTE FOR SATA OR HH AND NOT HERB. DEVELOPMENT IN REALITY NOT DREAMING, INSULTS AND FOOLISH CRITISISM

  19. Viva RB. The government and our money at work. The old man is working. Let us criticize constructive. Sata will never bring development in Zambia.
