Solwezi receives K665m CDF

Government has released the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for all the three constituencies in Solwezi district in North Western Province.

Solwezi Town Clerk Jim Zya confirmed receipt of the K665 million CDF funds for each constituency in an interview with ZANIS in Solwezi today.

Mr Zya said the money was released late last year and that the Council had received projects to be funded from all the CDF committees in the three constituencies.

He said the projects have since been evaluated and approved by the subcommittee of the District Development Coordinating Committee (DDCC).

Mr Zya identified some of the projects to be funded as rehabilitation of small bridges, teachers’ houses that had their roofs blown off, opening up of roads and foot paths.

The Town Clerk added that contractors would soon be moving to various sites and works were expected to commence soon.

So Councils can work on roads. Makes you wonder what those PF led councils in the Copperbelt are doing about the roads in their respective councils.

  2. And what is the council thinking about de-congesting the small Boma. Any plans to shift the town somewhere else and leave the existing town as the second class or chiwempala? Are u thinking of filter roads to supplement the one and only road in town?think big ,guys!
