Patriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata has challenged Minister of Local Government and Housing Dr. Brian Chituwo to state on whether he has appointed any investigative wings to investigate the alleged plot scandals at the Lusaka city Council.
Mr. Sata said under the statutes the local Minister should only suspend the council to pave way for investigations.
Mr. Sata has urged Dr. Chituwo to disclose the investigative wing that he has instructed to carry out investigation in the alleged plot scam involving the PF councilors at Lusaka city council.
The opposition leader noted that the government is trying to use the accusations against PF councilors as a political weapon being used to destabilize the opposition party.
Mr. Sata has also blamed the Dr. Chituwo for the theft scandals that recently rocked the Ministry of Health saying the theft scandals could have been prevented if the Dr. Chituwo who was the then Minister of health did not dissolve the Central board of health.

Chilufya Sata, why argue about technicalities and throw in counter accusations? The FACT is, your PF councilors and MPs have been found wanting due to their insatiable greed re: LCC plots. Stick to the issue at hand instead of trying to divert attention here. You describe your party as corrupt free yet the very councils that you control have been grossly mis-managed! If you goons can’t manage small assets at LCC, God forbid we give you the keys to the national treasury! We expect you to be doing damage control and publicly scolding your councilors but typical of African politicians, you’d rather stick your head in the sand. We’ll NEVER allow you to enter Plot 1.

Iam with you.Its not Health Ministry scandal but LCC where PF councillors and MPs alike took turns sharing plots.Instead of condemning his corrupt members,he seems ready to blame the minister for thieving Kapoko in order to divert attention from the LCC hot issue.

Chi Sata, theft is theft. You were sleeping on the wheel whilst your cadres were stealing from the public and all you can do is defend these criminals. You should have expelled them by now!
As for CBOH, how can you have two organs running one ministry? There is already the Min of Health so do you need a CBOH as well? A waste of tax payers money if you ask me. CBOH was even more corrupt than Kapoko and his team. This is why they had to sweep it under the carpet and do away with it.

The issue of councilors awarding plots is not new in Zambia. Name any councilor past and present who has no plots????
The issue is being blown out of proportion because LCC is under PF.
I am against any form of Corruption if these councillors did something Corrupt – I condem with full force. But it will also be very important to know who is investigating so that we can demand the report immediately. You know it is one thing to allocate a plot. It entirely another thing actually owning that plot with a title deed under someone’s name. There are procedures and processes to it. So if the councillors just ALLOCATED themselves the land, we must establish an offence and prosecute them correctly. That is why we said – DONT REMOVE the abuse of office clause from the anticorruption Act. Whether PF, or MMD or any other party for that matter, we must overcome corruption through good laws and upright conduct. VOTE OUT MMD this year to save this country!!
Those of us who are concerned would like to state that land is a very important resource, especially to Zambians. We should not be selfish and think that only those closer to power are entitled to own land. It is a right for every Zambian who wishes to own land to be considered. Noe these thieving councelors think that they are above the law. Unfortunately even their president is defending their thieving. How can we vote for such a bunch of thieves? They will condon misconduct as long as it involves their members. Sata is so simplistic and one wonders whether he is fit to govern this country. How can he bring in the MOH issue in the land scam? He thinks he can divert our attention from the land scam? Can you see that he is failing to accept that his councelors are corrupt?

Sata is merely expressing the fact that his lawyers have failed to find a loophole to reinstate the council. If Chituwo confesses that he is NOT investigating then the corrupt council can legally be reinstated. Then they can continue sharing plots under his supervision.
