However Southern Province Youth and Child Development Officer,Gibson Muyaule expressed concern over the rampant alcohol abuse among teenagers because of the influx of Sachet Beers in the community.

In a related development,Provincial Health Officer for Southern Province,Dr Lutangu Alisheke said the Ministry of Health in the Province has come up with a strategy to help the Council maintain public health in the Country.

  1. There are a lot of people earning a leaving in jiliz. But no industry should go unregulated. This is what we have been saying about the Chinese Lebanese and all people running business. Government should regulate and ensure all business are obeying labor laws, council rules and are remitting there taxes.

  2. One of my fellow PHD students is working on a dissertation about the effects of tujilijili on zambian youth and his preliminary findings are that tujilijili has done more harm than good.

During ZCCM times we used to have a lot of youth programmes running hence youths were busy competing in different sporting disciplines. Boxers like Kennedy Kanyanta and Hastings Bwalya are some of the products of those programmes. But with the current infestors, youths are competing in who can consume more sachets than the other while pretending to play pool.

Tujililjili is not beer for crying out loud. Beer is a brewed and fermented product of starches. Distilled products are called LIQUOR or SPIRITS. Some people even seem to think that beer is liquor. The only thing they have in common is ALCOHOL, albeit at varying degrees of concentration.

  5. Baba are you telling us that coz the tujilijili are giving you a lot of revenue you cant regulate them depite the adverse effect on children and society as a whole? This is rubbish indeed.

Please regulate that stupid beer before it destroys our beautiful country.

  6. Number 9, Hello! we as a student body at matero university are among the most well behaved in the country. Even when our counterparts at unza decide to demonstrate, we spend our time researching because that is the best way to bring out our grievances. Tujili jili are therefore not entertained on campus. We drink water…strictly!

  7. This has always been my cry, you see the youths are always drinking hence not pay attention to the events that are affecting them like lack of JOBS and better SCHOOLS. Who is to blame for this, the government and those infestors who are abusing our youths unproductive!

  8. Dnt worry tujijili wil be banned after elections as its cheaper to use during campagnin than mosi. otherwise yo concerns have been take into consideration by yo listenin govt. anythin further wil be tantamount to treason.

  9. just because the business give Gov lot of revenue does not mean the should do anything thing they want and break every law in the country

  10. Uyu mbulwamano ati “government gets more money from utujili-jili.” Satana! What is more important to you? Useless drunks with dimeanishing earning capacity or a healthy and productive nation? Brainless politician.

    Kuya bebele!

  11. Hehe. Ba PhD. Yaba, nimu journal ya bwanji tu ka yamona ama publication on Utu Jilili? Ma research methods ya shani mu le bomfya mukwayi elo Ma PhD munshi mule joba pakuti ama dissertation yenu yabe so varied? Ni comedy?

  12. Government should not take pride in raising resources from the sale of products that are visibly killing young people. A good listening gvmt places the health of its ctizns on the top agenda. Give the youth employment opportunities and not tujilijili

  13. Thank you for the auspicious writeup. It actually was once a enjoyment account it. Glance complicated to more introduced agreeable from you! By the way, how could we communicate?
