Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata says he can not call for negotiations to revive the PF/UPND pact because he still has a written memorandum showing that the pact is still on.
Mr. Sata maintained that as far as he is concerned the pact between his party and the UPND is still intact.
He said he can not start resolving problems that he did not create and that he is not interested in saying anything on the pact because he has not received any complaints from the UPND.
He added that based on the good leadership of late founding UPND leader Anderson Mazoka and the strength they had together, the pact can not just break like that.
And UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma says Mr Sata should ask his secretary general Wynter Kabimba over the collapse of the PF/UPND pact.
Mr. Kakoma says Mr Kabimba was the first one who announced the death of the PF/UPND pact before the UPND.
The UPND Spokesperson says Mr Sata has now realized the value of the pact which he allowed to collapse.
Mr. Kakoma added that there is no chance that the PF/UPND pact will be revived.

i think its too late now, the damage has been done. After castigating UPND like that, i never thought PF would want to unite again with UPND. Lets not trivialise these political differences to that of differences in marriage. in a marrige set up, the man is the head of the house, even if the couple differ as husband and wife. in the political differences between PF and UPND, who is the husband, the head (of the Pact)? this issue was never tackled or resolved until the political burst-up when UPND announced their decision. this is no ordinary marriage difference, this is politics. I have paid great attention to both UPND and PF proponents articulate their pros and cons about the failed pact. I have observed that the UPND supporters realy articulate their reasons well why they feel HH should be voted as next president. They are not die hard cadres, they just express themselves maturely with reasons they feel are worth putting across. And i feel to some extend the PF supporters havent realy done their party proud. they seem more die-hard cadres than anything, never realy that articulate, and dont take PF condemnation lightly.i just wish they can defend their leader more effectively in their arguments by being more analytical and articulate. thats just my opinion.
