PF allegedly using Tujilijili for campaigns

File: Vendors sell Tot packs and opaque beer by the roadside on Freedom Way

While stakeholders have continued to campaign against the Tujilijili (alcohol sachets), the opposition Patriotic Front is using the brand as a campaign tool.

MMD Lusaka Province Chairman William Banda has revealed that one of the tujilijili brands has a PF symbol.

Mr Banda says it is wrong for the firm producing the alcohol sachets to use the PF’s “Don’t Kubeba” slogan as its brand.

Mr. Banda told journalists at a media briefing that it is clear that the firm is supporting the opposition PF.

He explains that Zambia needs credible investors who do not align themselves with political parties.

Mr. Banda has urged the Zambia Development Agency to scrutinise investors who come into the country to set up businesses.

  1. Whats wrong with that afterall its the MMD Govt that provided the suitable environment for the mushrooming of Tujilijili. Can William Banda tell me that his rowdy cadres are always high on John Walker blue Label ? Nonsense

  2. # Napapa Sana, I could not agre with you more. To my understanding, the term “Don’t Kubeba” is a street term that cannot be claimed by any particular entity. It appears to me that the Brand owners are capitalizing on a catch phrase as opposed to aligning themselves with a political party, but then again…. I would not expect the likes of William Banda to understand the basic fundamentals of marketing strategy.

  3. William should not even have complained about this, it can be used very effectively by the MMD.

  4. LT this kind of nonsensical kachepa reporting needs to cease and desist come on now. There are serious issues you can report on and leave this kind of nonsense for the gossip sites.

  6. Thats the only way sata uses to please his kaponyas. Its very common knowledge!

  7. The use of Tujilijili just shows how deep the boat has sunk. It simply shows the calibre of people in PF. Any sane Zambian would never associate himself with this stuff.

  11. Honestly, I don’t see the relationship about tujilijili and PF. I thought PF was giving them to cadres but this is about a company advertizing its product on a phrase used by PF. It just shows PF is marketable. Bad news for MMD Rupuba Band!! Just sing more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye Bye William Band. We now have MP3

  12. Honestly one day we will be free of this rubbish. Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation can publish s**t like this? Please mwebantu overthrow. Game over, pabwato chabe

  13. Ba lusaka times, this is how your heading should haWilliam Banda accuses Tujilijili brewer of putting PF symbol on satchets
    ve read;

  14. Balusaka times, This ia how your heading should have read; William Banda accuses Tujilijili brewer of putting PF symbol on satchets

    • Is that so namona kanshi ba MMD naba kasabana! anyway i can’t be surprised it is the old thug WTB malawi investor ……….

  15. hahahahaha. Am sure with they provide a bacteria free free drink in remote parts of the country where they drink all kinds of strange brews from unknown storage and brewing conditions.. Viva Utujilijili. Too bad i missed them.

  16. Who is using who? Suppose the makers of the brand are using PF’s popular symbol for business ends? Stop blaming PF hopeless man.

  17. chiwilliam banda ure a big fooool av never seen ar u saying that the so called tujilijili only pf drinks them grow in yo heard chi banda viva sata nangu mulande bangwele imwe mwabula mano ifwe nyi pabwatooo.

  18. Hahahaha…. i wonder what would happen if PF won. We all be forced to start drinking.

  19. MMD uses shake shake, chibuku bulk, katata, kachasu and katubi. Is someone uses tujilijili, then that would be a proper upgrade of mmd liquor. So where’s the proble??

  20. Ceap politicking fm a scoundrel with maggots 4 brains. He still thinks Zambians are as daft as he is.We ve transcended.A gud marketing strategy 4 de brewers but my fear is tht that company is likely to be closed by this scoundrel, William Banda.

  21. william Banda is a 24 carat f-ool .The slogan he is talking about was not coined by PF but by Kaponyas in their every day dialect and of course most of them support PF and that is why the PF leader got it and thought it was making sense in reference to u f-o-o-ls in government.
And the company using the slogan are using it as a latest gangster slang in the streets so that their products can be associated with the latest trends in Zambian social life and not what Bandas shallow brain thinks.!!!

  22. #8
PF is full of REJECTS. Let ba William Banda join them after all, his Sata”s friend. They were together since Independence.

  23. PF guys are resistant to change. The world has gone digital, the analog type of politics is gone.It only made sense during the independence strugle era to which both William and Sata belong. Wake up guys, this is the 21st century, forget about people who have reached political menopouse.

  24. So in short when we tpye the word ‘hour’ we are campaining for MMD! When we say ‘Forward’ we are UPND! Oh I almost continued but remembered ni Willie Banda so I will rest my case lest I lower my std

  25. Honestly speaking this country is run by delussional bastards who find anything on the street threatening pa last twalaumfwa ati Dandy crazy sings for PF awe ni Donchi kubeba

  26. dont kubeba uno mwaka wakuya. ifwe twakana ifwe twakana ku vota ichinkoloko ichatobeka mu 2011. i wish i can distribute those tujijili around here on the CB coz i will know that every sale of that is a plus to PF.Please we need those tujijili here on the Copperbelt send them over. Dont kubeba

  27. Jealous Phili #20, please note that the insanity of PF makes more news to intertain the readers. Apparently, which credible Party would attract drunkers into kits ranks. Beer drinking is merely a recipe of preparation for impending violence.
