  1. This was a lecture, not a rally. Lectures don’t need millions of people to attend. Mostly it is only those in that program or class. Please learn. Turn out, turn out. Turn out for what? Imwe fyonse ni rally. Shame on you.

    • Tru d@ kalos.twaz a lecture n nt a raly n obviously hd 2b atended by only thoz doin d@ course/subjct n nt da whol sku.l8 pipo undstnd d@.

  2. Was this poor attendance for an international speaker or a student? Bring prompts at his Gays meetings in East Sussex.

  3. Good question because i have attended visiting speaker forums when i was in the University among those of Tutu, Kagame, Mbeki, Odinga and many Isreali public figures including those from Asia. This looks like a class debate meet-up.

  4. We all know that on his trip openly Sata has been asking EU Governmnets why they are not recolonizing Zambia he opposed its chachacha struggles for independence.

  5. Just the other day Sata was addressing a meeting of homosexuals in East Sussex, UK organized and sponsored by the Britain’s Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (GALHA) and UK Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) chapter some PF members in the UK are members in among them is one young man who runs a blog there with a femine voice.

  6. For laughter check type in  chiluba, mandela and kaunda on youtube. Hilarious I tell you.

  7. Many British moralists and Zambians alike could not turn up for the drivel Sata is known for. They would rather be busy making pounds somewhere which will benefit their families that being shoved doomed drivel.

  8. Bembas say a child who does not move thinks the mother is the best cook. This is the case with our friend Kalosi, have a life man

  9. Even Elias Chipimo Jr had a larger gathering at the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)-maybe it is because Chipimo was once at Oxford and was able to use the academic society to arrange his debate? The other Sata meeting in East London was £10 to attend, that is K80 000 in Zambia. I don’t who can spend that kind of money, plus transport by tube/bus/parking fees for car owners of a further £10, in austerity London to listen to Sata when RB’s gathering are free of charge! £20 (K160 000) to listen to a political speech when I can use that money to feed my family for 1 week! This is London – the most expensive city on earth!!

  10. Such dull comments. All the man did was give a lecture and we have a rabies outbreak from Movement for Mad Dogs led by Senior Chihuahua. Ati Sata apanga rally ku London? I d i o t s. Anyway you are going soon

  11. Did that qualify to be called a lecture? Who ever wrote that speech should have atleast advised our aspiring president to read it to the audience other than to himself as was case. He had His face burried in the the papers and rarely remembered he had intellectuals in front of him, what an embarrassment. One can only wonder what sort of people are at the POST to make headlines out of that.

  12. Very hard to listen to any zambian speak, has given me a headache, I will vote sata regardless. Thanks

  13. senior citizen or what ever you maybe called, I THINK YOUR COMPENDIUM is myopic. Your are not objective in your thinking and analysis. It is a shame

  14. some bloggers here are mad.you expect a lecture to turn into a rally?that is the problem of writing under GCE.am sure you even blame your parents for what you are now.when are you going to learn to give credit were its due?God deliver you and go back to school.congratulations mr president.:-w

  15. Ha ha ha ha ha. Do these guys even understand what they write here. How can you feed your family on £20 for a week and in the same sentence you call London an expensive city? What are you feeding them? Water?

  16. The man was staunch supporter of the third term, now he turns round and condemns his own school of thought. He even conived with the former President, chiluba to expel several members of the part who were opposed to the idea. Zambians forget easily.

  17. The man really has Zambia at heart and he deserves to be supported.
Among other things, corruption, exploitation of workers by investors, our poor working culture and abuse of the judiciary will be stopped with Sata in the driving seat.
Be part of the liberation struggle.
VOTE MICHAEL SATA AND PF FOR A BETTER ZAMBIA.
BEWARE OF SMALL TRIBAL PARTIES WHICH JUST SPLIT VOTES.
    PABWATOOOOOOOO COME WHAT MAY.

  18. # 9. Jojo. Out of respect and love for my mother, whether I have travelled and tasted other cooks’ food, no matter how yummy theirs’ will be, my mother will always be the best cook. I love love you mom. Wishing HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY. Only you will despise your mother’s cooking. Sad for your mother.

  19. This was not a lecture but Sata reading his Pa Fwaka manifesto. This was more of a political campaign.

  20. President did the best he could. We are with him till we remove MMD this year. He shared a real life experience and what he said is true of african politics. MMD is tired and should pack. VIVA PA BWATO

  21. Any ideas on Mr Sata’s ‘compulsory acquisiton of land by government’? Will that extend to other companies or other businesses?

  22. No amount of sugar coating will brush up the image of the old man he should have given a lecture on why African leaders never quit or retire!
Lol the old man at least did not punt when speaking we shall see when he goes on the gruelling campaign trail.

  23. No amount of sugar coating will brush up the image of the old man he should have given a lecture on why African leaders never quit or retire!
Lol the old man at least did not punt when speaking we shall see when he goes on the gruelling campaign trail. He should complain of anything they are the people who invented rigging in zambia(chiluba, sata and vj)

  24. Content content content!!! The man brings up excellent concerns about our outdated constitution, high levels of both corruption and unemployment and overall nepotism and all out ‘senior citizens’ want talk about are issues of hatred of gay folks, B.S. about retirement and many other irrelevant issues. Keep your eyes on the prize and Senior Citizen, your English (or the misuse of the language) is often distracting enough, that you will stoop so low as to drag in men and women of different sexual orientations is probably lower than the devil himself as you know him. I’d embrace a thousand homosexual men before I let a selfish being like yourself enter my home. A lot of us are much more clear sighted than you might think, but then our livlihoods are not determined by corrupt leadership.

  25. It must have been hard for the old chap cause he is used to addressing hooligans only to present a “lecture” to an orderly group of people…
Perhaps he has a degree for him to be given the platform at Oxford…

  26. NOW I CAN COMMENT
SO BASICALLY WHAT WE SHOULD ALL BE LOOKING FOR IS WHAT THE REPORT THOSE GUYS DOING THERE MASTERS WILL WRITE. MORE SO HOW THEY WILL BE GRADED BECAUSE THIS WAS ONLY USED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPUSOS THATS ALL NOTHING MORE.

AND OHHH YEA THAT FIRST PAST THE POST HE KEEPS GOING ON ABOUT AND ASKING THE BRITISH TO HELP… CHECK REFERENDUM RESULTS AND WHAT THE DEBATES HAVE BEEN. AND MAYBE PLEASE STATE WHAT THE AGENDA WAS ON THIS LECTURE BECAUSE IT SEEMS ITS SATA AND THE MMD IS THAT WHAT THERE MASTER REPORTS BE BASED ON WHERE ARE THEY GOING TO TAKE IT

  27. Senior Citizen……..Bushe njipusheko, what crime has Mr. Sata committed against you? You have taken issues to a more personal level. Such hatred is dangerous and if you think this man speaks contrary to your worldview become his advisor, do not close your eyes to issues raised by people you do not seem to agree with, they might have some curing words for you or your family. Be objective. I must say that I’m a PF supporter, but guess what it’s not everything that the PF says that I agree with. I need to sieve and pick out issues that genuinely address the plight of our people. Vice versa it’s not everything that the MMD say’s is wrong, subsequently I need to sieve and pick out issues that genuinely address the plight of our people. This is a kind of mind set we need to cultivate.

  28. I wonder what this grade 4 man was cheating the audience. He was just reading a prepared text which even he himself could not understand. If at all there questions and he was asked a question from his text, i very much doubt if he wud have answered correctly. The audience actually never cared what he saying, all they enjoyed were his comedy type of jokes and talks. Atleast he gave his audience a break to rest from their busy academic schedules to “listen” to this nondiscret african entertainer who leads a political for more than ten years without subjecting himself to elections. Nonsense. Ala.

  30. this was a lecture,i remember our class at versity was 5 students. why ar u questioning the number as if this was a rally. dull chaps pa zed, how do u expect an engineer to go and sit in a political science lecture all bcoz sata is lecturing….dull dull dull….viva pfffffffffffffffffffffff

  31. I am an undecided voter and thank you for the video LT. At least we can evaluate Sata’s speech for ourselves, free from influence from The Post or the government print media. I personally support Miyanda, on principle, but this year I am thinking of voting for the winning candidate. Reading some of the comments above, I am tempted to make a few observations. First, the video does not show all the people that attended the event; there were certainly many people sufficient for a lecture and the venue, which I understand is a lecture theatre for Politics and International Relations students and accommodates about 100 people maximum. Our friends in the West value their health and for them to choose such a venue, they had a clear idea of the numbers as well as of the capacity.

  32. Secondly, I think we should spend more time discussing the content of his speech, not the numbers because it is not the number of how many attended the lecture (the Oxford audience are not voters, it is us who will vote on the basis of our parties’ manifestos) that will ultimately matter and define our future. As others have pointed out above, this was not a political rally where voters turn up to listen to their leaders but an academic lecture meant for deep engagement and aftermath discussion.

  33. Thirdly, I understand from my elder sister who attended the event that there were questions at the end of the lecture and it would seem the speech does not capture that. Next, may we learn to debate issues not personalities and instead of only expecting that from our political leaders. Lastly, best wishes to Sata, RB, Miyanda and HH and May the person that the majority people want win the elections. One Zambia!

  34. # 46 Zambian female voter
Good sense of maturity. You have a well worded statement. Keep up that spirit. Actually I am not eligable to vote BUT I advice u Zed to vote wisely based on these politicians’ capability otherwise zambia’s future will be doomed to a failure.

  35. The Post Newspaper is the campaign media for Sata. It must be such a big issue for one to give a lecture anywhere in the whole. Where is he going to get more money in peoples pockets? The tax base in Zambia is too small therefore people have to pay taxesto run Government. VIVA RB.

  36. Ebwafya pa mushi wesu uwa Zambia, everything is personalized. PHD syndrome is chronic. At the pace we are moving we will never get anywhere until we learn to debate issues objectively. It’s hard to accept, but ubututu pa Zed is so endemic across the whole spectrum of our society.

  37. Yangwe Tata. So Mr. Pompolyongo Sata shifted his jokes to Oxford University. The British had a test of a real joker. Except that this time around Sata restrained himself from pouring insults to a learnt conservtive audience whose culture is rich in tolerating nonsence that mad fellows yell out at the Speakers Corner in Londons’s Hyde Park. Mwe Lesa, save us from shame.

  38. Some ambitious chaps invited their leader to make it look like the university invited Sata. No one takes him serious anymore.

  39. #2 dont worry. #1 taingilamo mu lecture theatre. eko yaba shibukeni ku US of A #1. Ukalembeshe ukamone what a lecture theatre is for and what a lecture is all about.

  40. Do not tell yourselves lies about public lectures.Take it from me because I have attended meny such . the size of attendance depends on what is expected of a public lecture. Thus if it is known that the lecture will be offered by a sage or a highly schooled individual and that the topic is about something of high academic substance that lecture will be well attended. To the contrary, if the person offering the lecture is perceived to be intellectually bankrupt and of the type who speaks incoherently and un intelligible the attendance will be very poor. And Zambians know who Sata is. He is one of those who believe that disorder is harmony only that people do not understand. The man is chaos itself.

  42. LETS FIND SOMETHING MORE NEWSWORTHY TO WRITE/TALK ABOUT. SATA MEETS RELATIVES IN LONDON AND WE ALL HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT IT? WHY OH WHY?
HOW DOES THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT DEBATE, ZAMBIANS?

  43. SATA’s Lecture was hollow and empty…..Please Zukas, Sichinga Bob and other who were with Sata you are a such embarrasing bunch of intellectuals and you want to Special Assistants to Sata by writing such a lecture. He will never win the 2011 elections, Please stop being likes of Mulongoti, Panji,Mpombo and others leave Sata to NSANDA, GBM thaose fit into Sata shoes..

  44. How long does an article stay posted before it is removed? Please give us latest News. I have seen articles as long as one year. Does that mean if you post something on line then it cant be removed?

  45. What a country and what a people, with such a poor patriotism, we can’t even appreciate a single thing from all that the person spoke! then we should be very dull ourselves. What then do we want, our country looking like a big toilet as it is, wow. Then on gay issues, do you suggest that those who have such an inclination tho not practising must sentenced to death or what. other people who might read our comment would surely wonder whether there is any wise person in Zambia, shame on us.   :((:o if we don’t change this year and put something different or even better then we are doomed.

  46. I will right away take hold of your rss as I can’t to find your email subscription hyperlink or e-newsletter service. Do you have any? Please permit me realize in order that I could subscribe. Thanks.
