The late Mufulira Wanderers coach and ex Zambia defender Harrison “Wawa” Chongo’s burial will take place on Monday.
Wanderers officials revealed today that Wawa will be put to rest in Mufulira at Chibolya Cemetery.
Chongo died on Thursday afternoon at Ronald Ross Hospital in Mufulira after suffering from High Blood Pressure on Wednesday.
Wawa was rushed to Ronald Ross during halftime of Wanderers Division 1 North Week 9 game against Prison Leopards at Shinde Stadium.
Wanderers went on to win the game 1-0 and move into second place and remain unbeaten this season after eight matches played.
Wawa, 41, leaves behind a wife and six children.

The media should advise those grieving over their failed coup de tat to respect Wawa’s burial. Wawa deserves to be buried with dignity. He contributed to Zambian football not through useless rhetoric but in practical reality.
They have exhausted all the reasonable and unreasonable channels and so should wait for elections in 2012.
RIP WAWA AND VIVA MIGHTY
My heart felt condolences to the family of our fallen hero and may his soul rest in internal peace!
It was saddening to read about the demise of Wawa Chongo.I was shocked to learn that the talented son of our land had given up his ghost. He was such a commited and hardworking defender whose talent lingers in our minds especially that breathtaking perfomance at the Nations cup in Tunisia.I first watched Wawa when i was a kind in Ndola at Musakasonka stadium in a game between Ndola United and Mighty Mufulira wanderers. He wowed everyone with his strength and agility on the ball but yet he never commited fouls as often as A person of his stature and strength could. That explains the high caliber and discipline the brother exhibited on the pitch. His demise has dealt a serious blow to the development of soccer in the country.I hope the upcoming defenders can pick a leaf
WAWA rest in peace
Rest in peace gallant son of mother Zambia. You contributed in your own way in putting our country on the world map.
Will be missed, you have ran the race for Mufulira, true, and galant son
Wawa ozona…eight games unbeaten…you were not only a great player but a good coach also…OUR OWN ZAMBIAN SON…My heart breaks for you my dear, you have lived a hard life Wawa…just when things began to look up for you, the Lord had his own plans…KALU, his kids mudala…RIP.
i think FAZ need to start recognize these players who have done great things to the national. Set up a credit union , for all former professional players, who are not financially stable, to assist them with loans , not in terms of cash , but in terms of soccer equipment, so that they can put up soccer academies, to keep them busy and away from drinking too much beer , which make them go off the truck. By so doing it will even boost our soccer standards, not only that, it will also maintain their respectful manners. i knew WAWA to be a very smart guy dressing wise, but not the way he was neglected ,like he was nothing. These are kind of people we should be proud of.
