Chief Mwanachingwala spells out danger of voting for Sata

Chief Mwanachingwala waves at President Banda's chopper when he arrived at his palace in Mazabuka

CHIEF Mwanachingwala of the Tonga people of Mazabuka in Southern Province has warned that Zambia risks being turned into a despotic state if Patriotic Front (PF) president Michael Sata is voted into power in the forthcoming tripartite elections.

And an entire ward consisting of 350 people from about 14 villages in Mazabuka Central in Southern Province have ditched their traditional party, the United Party for National Development (UPND), and the Patriotic Front (PF) to join the MMD with a message that they are tired of being in the opposition.

The chief said Mr Sata has the propensity for disregarding advice and the views of other people, and is good at dictating his way to meet his desires.

Chief Mwanachingwala said in an interview yesterday it is not surprising that MrSata has failed to call for a convention so that he can be challenged because he does not believe in democracy.

He said with the tripartite elections coming soon, one expected the PF to have held its national convention, but that has not happened because its leader does not believe in elections.

Chief Mwanachingwala said that Zambians should not forget that MrSata has a vicious political background that left prominent citizens politically maimed when he was at the helm of the MMD.

The chief said the people of Southern Province are awake to the fact that the UPND cannot win the elections this year and are defecting in large numbers to the MMD.

  1. @ 1 Maneng’u……. MMDs worry is that Kaponyas are slowly outnumbering genuine voters. Do you have a formula to counter that?

  2. 350 have gone to MMD, I thought Mazabuka was the traditional headquarters for UPND. If that is true then UPND is dead and buried in the Southern Province.

  3. I hope RB does not make the f….lish and St…pid mistake of flying SATA to South Africa for medical attention after the shock of the election results…..

  4. FOR HOW MANY YEARS WILL THESE TRIBALISTS LIE TO THEMSELVES TRIBAL POLITICS HAVE NO PLACE IN OUR PEACE LOVING COUNTRY. ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION, VIVA RB, VIVA SATA no place for hh and his tonga tribal party

  5. Its a relief to realise that there are right thinking Zambians out there who are able to see that voting for Sata is risky and dangerous. I feel sorry for those who see good in Sata but i dont blame them, as the saying goes; A fool sees not the same tree that a wise man sees. Wise men are few. Wake up Zambians. See things using your own eyes. Think for yourselves. Dont let the media think or see things for you.

  6. The Post Newspaper want to impose the serpent Sata on Zambian people by falsely claiming that Sata has turned into a saint. All they write about MMD and UPND is aimed at de-campaigning the two political parties. The post has been reduced into a boot licker of Sata but very soon they will have no boot to lick because Sata will not win the presidential elections.

  7. #6, 7 and 8: It is not right to insult people who disagree with you politically. Zambia is a multy party democracy. Every person has a right to belong to any political party of his or her choice. You must not be blinded by your loyalty to one party or man and insults others who don’t see things the way you do. That is being petty and lacking wisdom, rationality, common sense, and good will for your country. We must win people by persuasion, negotiation, reasoning etc, but not by insults. Grow up guys. Coming to the chief, it is unfortunate for him to start being partisan. Our constitusion demands that the chiefs be neutral since their subjects may belong to different political parties and speaking against one party may injure certain subjects and bring the chiefdom into public riducule.

  8. Call him the serpent, discredit him, make programmes on MMD tabloids against him, pay chiefs to discredit him but the people’s wish for him will see him through to state house.VIVA SATA VIVA PF PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  9. This chief was paid by MMD to decampaign both parties. Now show us the evidence of 400+ people changing from one party to another without membership cards being purchased.
Another pack of lies from the government propaganda newspaper.
ZAMBIA DAILY LIES BY MMD…..The demented party!

  10. Some chiefs have been reduced to a mare political caders honestly speaking how can a chief carelessly talk like that.A chief waving at the presidential chopper? To ask MMD, how many chiefs have declared their support for Banda? How many are for Sata and how many have not participated?

  11. #10. The Special one. You are contradicting yourself. Do you yourself beleive that Chiluba and Sata’s constitution was right to bar our chifes from having a say in our politics or voicing out their opinions? The fact that chiefs are speaking out all over the country in favour of RB, Sata or HH tells you that piece of legislation was just a mockery. Let us treat it as such.

  12. mr sata promised the nation and members of pf that he would hold a convention before the general elections, this month of june in fact. we know that it’s no big deal for mmd what pf does with itself, but pf members are now complaining that their leader is trampling on their democratic rights. obviously mr sata lied again as those of us who know well expected. can’t this man tell just one truth for a change, even just saying that he does not believe in elections would be truth. is it that difficult?

  13. Is this not Charles Malambo? His wives are UPND, if he didn’t mention that his wives also resigned then no one resigned it was just stage managed difection since his wives are still UPND supporters.

  14. #15 Puchukwe: As long as we do not have another constitution, we must as well respect the one in place. I agree with you that the 1996 Constitution is lame, but I disagree when you say that this constitution is for Sata or Chiluba. It is a Zambian constitution no matter how defective. We voted for Sata and Chiluba, and therefore gave them authority to come up with this document. We must take responsibility and stop the blame game. It is our fault and we must accept our share of the blame, and also share the blame with all other MPs that voted for this constitution in 1996. I have no problems with the chief speaking in his individual capacity, but not in his official capacity. He represent a chiefdom, and he must exercise caution just like other public office holder e.g. the chief justice.

  15. John Malambo alias Chief Mwanachingwala is a comidian not a Chief. He is busy praise singing for RB even when he knows he seats on his throne surrounded by UPND faithful. Time has come to chase this “Chief” from the thone and give it to someone more sensible and non partisan. So what happens ba John Malambo after elections since MMD is losing???? eat now but we shall force you to vomit. When a Chief becomes a cadre, we meet in the battle front head on.

  16. bafwaka bamfumu nabo aba! He is now mmd! Keep on prostituting yourself and soon you will be finished or you are already finished. Exposing your f**lshness!

  17. LT is always talking about this and that one defecting from PF/or UPND to join MMD or this chief and that chief has promised to support MMD in this years elections. Does it mean there are no people leaving MMD? SHAME PA ZED. THIS PROPAGANDA AND MISUSE OF PUBLIC MEDIA BY MMD IS WORSE THAN UNIP TIMES.

  18. We are all making noise. The Fact is that we are tired of being ruled by one Party.Let others take over and see us through to 2016. If Sata is a serpent, then the one who calls Sata a Serpent is four-times more Serpent than Sata. If Sata will become a dictator, then the constitution will restrain him or he will be impeached. RB has done his own damage to this Country, let Sata or HH take over, coz you cant have the same people rulling all the time.

  19. I think the chief has raised some points which a worth noting about the PF leader. He was responsible for the demise of honest and hard working politicians like General Miyanda, the late General Tembo and many others. His plan was to be anointed and appointed by Chiluba which was not the case. Do not forget the snake in the garden of Eden – “sly and cunning”. His leadership style is nothing to write home about. It is neither inclusive nor transparent.

  20. What kind of a Chief are you? It is this kind of behaviour which makes people lose respect for their Chiefs. Be non-partisan and let your subjects decide what is good for themselves. Stop being greed!

  21. How did this cow manage to remove its tail and use it to wave at its leader rb? Must be a trickster cow. I did not know that some places allow cows to be chiefs.

  22. we need good salaries for all zambians look at how pipo suffer in other parts zambia not ever watch TV in the some places,we as PF want change after all who is suffering at the moment us zamnbians, sata has already made it. guys wake up you poor women and men were do even get tax to som1 who sale sweets and vegetable then you say development, mines are let free, look at the celtle, zain ,airtel now till now its always change the names when it reachs every 5 years ther change the nmae avoiding to pay tax others are shoprite ther dont pay tax ad how much do the workers get, who to blame its goverment not sata mmd given othe chance forgot now all the places we be for chinses were an investor selling cheap cloths then you say we have an investor cloths 2500pin,5000pin and 10000pin….

  23. Ba mfumu nkalaniche pamupando waufumu and keep quiet you may be insulted. In our tradition urging with an elderly (worse a chief) is an insult what about in your tradition? You are a chief please respect yourself. Mwasebana its enough please!!!
