MMD chairperson for commerce, trade and industry Felix Mutati has said he is focused on helping the ruling party become stronger because it has demonstrated its vision to improve the living standards of the Zambian people.
He said the MMD Government would continue taking development to all the parts of the country.
Mr Mutati said the Government would ensure more job opportunities were created for the citizens so that they contribute to the growth of the economy.
He dispelled reports that he intended to defect to the opposition Patriotic Front (PF).
He said he could not defect to PF because the MMD Government had continued to score tremendous successes in making Zambia a better country than it was some years ago.
“Let’s deal with serious national issues. I am a focused MMD member holding very senior positions and now I am in Mpika carrying out Government work. So why should some people force me to defect?” Mr Mutati asked.
Exemplary, Intelligent, Focused MMD Leaders. Dont spoil your career Mutati by falling prey to PF.

With all the achievements you are part of the MMD administration is delivering with a historic record, you can only increase the momentum of achievement under a systemic institution. PF is desperate this year. they have changed the party from Patriotic Front to the Pouching Force (PF).

My favourite Minister has spoken and spoken in a principled manner. No mention of names but focussed on the issue at hands. Felix, you may not read this but please remain stead fast and focussed on your work. Better to lose on the MMD ticket than to join the PF. If it gets to the worst and you lose (very unlikely) take a break from the dirty politics. Look up to Patrick Chisanga if you may and possibly form a team with him.
Mutati is too educated to be led by Sata who is a grade 4 policeman. They would never agree on anything. PF is a party for Kaponyas like Mushili, Nsanda, GBM, Kambwili and the like.

Stay focused and deliver to the nation.What value or change those who are defecting going to bring when they were part of the MMD team. Its unfortunate that the majority of our politicians do not appreciate the meaning of democracy. Ba PF what are they going to deliver within 90days. I guess they will deliver in form of dimissing those who serving in various senior positions including foreign missions and replace them with their cadres. What else it will be the same mediocre defectors who are going to occupy senior govt positions. For PF to deliver in 90days let them make public their blue print and how its going to be implemented.

Everyone in PF is praying that SATA should not grow old; if he should grow then he must grow younger. Because the moment SATA leaves politics I dont see PF standing any more. This is based on many factors which keep PF. This is why I dont blame SATA for holding on to the position of president for 10 years before the first intra-party election attempt.
His followers dont want him to leave the position because they know the consequenses.

Hon Felix Mutati is a principled individual and so far he has done a lot in the MMD. We are seeing unprecedented foreign direct investment pouring into the country and very soon we shall have more jobs for ourselves, better standard of living, and increased economic activity. This is what we want from any political party. We are fed up of parties that have no programme for the country. It would be the biggest betrayal if Hon Mutati decided to defect to the PF. The PF is the only party that does not see what is happening in the country economically. This is total arrogance and lack of respect for the people from whom the party is seeking a mandate. One wonders whether there are any sensible people in the PF because if there were they could have been attesting to what is happening in Zambia.

No. 45 I agree with you. The new face of MMD to officials after the elections is Mutati, Dora, Musokotwane etc. Thats why uneducated people like Mpombo, Mulongoti (night school degree) have realised that they can not compete with the new crop of educated leaders…

Well said Mr Mutati, PF does not have a credible economic plan for Zambia. A great price has been paid by Zambians to make us reach where we are today with reserves of US$2.5 billion, inflation rate at 9% and unprecedented inward flow of foreign direct investment. Look at what is happening to Greece where their bonds have been classed as junk and are likely to default on their debts. The same goes for Italy whose debt is more than its GDP. Even the USA has reached its legal borrowing limit of US$14.3trillion and will default on its debts if the ceiling is not raised by August 2. Zambia needs to elect leaders who will protect our strong fiscal position. Rupiah Banda and the MMD have demonstrated since the global meltdown of financial markets in 2008 that they are a safe pair of hands.
