Former Zambia’s ambassador to Libya Mulondwe Muzungu has retired from active politics.

Mr Muzungu who was also MMD Mufumbwe Parliamentary seat aspiring candidate says he will however remain a loyal member of the MMD.

He is among other MMD applicants who have not been adopted to context the Mufumbwe seat on the party’s ticket in this year’s elections.

Mr Muzungu further says he will remain loyal to President Rupiah Banda.

Mr. Muzungu announced his decision to ZNBC News in Lusaka on Tuesday.

He has urged Zambians to ensure that President Banda wins this year’s elections as he is a credible leader that has helped develop the country.

Mr Muzungu has urged all his supporters to remain united and support the MMD’s adopted candidate for Mufumbwe constituency Stephen Masumba.

  1. I’ve always wondered what it actually means to quit active politics…….if political parties are similar to social clubs then as long as you have a membership card…….

  2. Muzungu’s conscious is not free after causing  deaths and violence through his son,MANGANI and MMD during and after loosing the Mufumbwe by-elections.
Muzungu also agonised the Mufumbwe people by him and mmd appealing when they knew that they lost just to deny the Mufumbwe people development.

  3.  Just the statement, “he will however remain a loyal member of the MMD and President Rupiah Banda”, makes the retirement announcement comical.

  4. Retiring does not mean making leading political statements. Just say i retire. PERIOD. Any way its not the first time we have heard that from you. Soon we will hear you accepting appointment in active politics. Big Serving God is better than Politics.

  5. This man says he is retiring, it seems like he is just not happy he was by passed in the selection process. Does it mean he is withdrawing the petition for the nullification of UPND MP for Mufumbwe? Old man, the blood for the those you killed with the help of your son will forever haunt you. In Bemba now, waliba neciwa mudala. Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Bemba haters, I just used it again. I love my language. Sweeeetie Bemba.

  6. No need to make such a statement ba Mulondwe. Ask VJ, he did the same, but njala ina munyokola, he is back in politics. Even you, should have just kept quiet. Muli njala mu Zambia, iza kunyokola and you will think of coming back to politics. RB knows ati mulinjala muZambia yamene inyokola bantu. Ask RB mwamene inyokolela bantu njala. He will tell you, Kaleza kaning’ambe

  7. THANKS MR MUZUNGU YOUR TIME WAS LONG OVER DUE AND HOPE YOUR REMAINING MADALAS WILL FOLLOW YOU .HAPPY RETIRMENT AND ENJOY THE MONEY THAT YOU HAVE PLUNDERED FROM US

  8. If you are above 65 and still politically active, kindly follow suit..Retire to create space for youths who have suffocated for so long..

  9. He could have been now been enjoying his money in Tripoli, Rupiah brought him back to contest as an MP only to fail and have his son imprisoned for killing a person a car accident during his campaign as an MP. Now he is not sellable as an MP so has just had to be ditched. This is agony, I hope he completed his house in Mutendele township he had been building since he lost his MP seat in 1991.  He had a brief comfort as an ambassador only to be distracted by the order by RB for him to stand as an MP which lost. Very sad indeed.

  10. Political deadwood can still find solace in foreign service appointments! I hope current leadership in the foreign affairs ministry brings about professional dignity than appeasing failed cadres of political parties for that matter. Note how the “I will remain loyal to……..” is played out among cadres and you think it is for nothing!

  11. HH, RB and Sata should also retire and give room to others young and vibrant people. These chaps have been around for too long we need new blood in the political arena. If one chap fails to be elected as president they should not come back because they will still not make it! Muzungu is a failure hence the movement for mad dogs did not pick him this time around!

  12. Kapumuleni baba!!! Ninsoni cabe mwamvera kuipa because you were not adopted to contest the mufumbwe seat on the ruling party ticket. Remain loyal to the President and the MMD??? Mulwisha ati if they win they may adopt you as an MP.

  13. sour grapes or tears of a crocodile UPND TAUGHT you a big lesson and you lost badly and your thug son caused alot of death and blood shed.. Zambia doesn’t need to know  about your retirement spare us precious TV time to announce your crap. you know that NWP IS A UPND STRONG HOLD, SHAME ON YOU

  14. zedians u shock me,you re busy telling the oldies to retire when young men like patrick want to join politics, you scare him ati uzasila.politics is a journey he is simply learning and its like politics in zambia is a curse.

  15. UPND sent Mulongwe Muzungu into retirement. He He He.. MMD knows his son killed two innocent children. They did not adapt him. He has retired because he is tired. He he He Mulondwe, you thought MMd would adapt u with the violence u instigated? he he he

  16. @ The Jackal 22, point of correction, please note that HH is only been in politics for 5 years, unlike others who have been in politics for over 40 years

  17. you all are useless!!!!! i wonder if you have ever been to school you bloody bustards..the best thing to do if you don’t know something is to act if not then just keep quite….what have YOUR fathers done for this country???? you all are so IGNORANT and *****ic!!!!!
