The Civil Servants and Allied Workers Union of Zambia (CSAWUZ) has commended government for reclassifying Zambezi district into category D for rural hardship allowance.

Northwestern Provincial Chairman Kameya Manjomba has also thanked CSAWUZ national leadership for having worked tirelessly for the achievement.

ZANIS reports the Union leader making the commendation in a press statement made available in Solwezi yesterday.

“ Under the D category workers serving within the township will be entitled to 20 percent while those in the outskirts would be entitled to 25 percent remote hardship allowance, “ Mr Manjomba said.

He said the news had excited workers in Zambezi district as it would provide for all the civil servants to qualify for the rural hardship allowance of 20 percent of their basic salary.

Mr Manjomba has since appealed to all salary input managers in the province to quickly affect the allowances accordingly at the shortest possible time in line with the cabinet circular.

He also appealed to all civil servants to continue working hard and explain developmental achievements to the people as they were the radiance of government programmes.

Meanwhile, Mr Manjomba appealed to government to release about K5 billion owed to civil servants under provincial administration in North western province on leave travel benefits, long service bonus and commutation of leave days.

  1. My real name is Moses Daka. This year I am determined to do everything in my power to make sure Sata does not make it State House. I believe with all my heart that He represents everything wrong about Zambia. He has been in politics too long and therefore has been corrupted by the system to the extent that he is not capable of rudically changing Zambia for the better. I consider him dangerous. He is the one who wanted to give us Kafupi for a 3rd term even when he was aware that Kafupi was a thief. Please join me in sending this man to retirement.

    •  mr bricklayer,no one can join you because i can’t see any sense in what you have written.so you mean those are the reason sata can’t be voted as the president?my br you are lacking logic in what you are saying.

    • Moses Daka, i’m joining you and don’t worry, this man will never rule Zambia. We have rejected him 3 times and now we will send him packing.

    • Thanks a lot Moses you are in did a wise person, most of our fellow Zambians don’t get it, we won’t forget what Mr sata has done for Zambia his time is done,i would rather allow Mr Banda to finish his second term he has done a good job so far, god help us that he does not go off line.

    • though it may be good to allow RB to run for the next term but alas, he seem to be going off line….. he needs to convince Zambians that he will improve the living standards especially for the many poor Zambians

  3. I entirely I agree with you Daka, This man just want to get into State House, steal with his Bemba Friends. No way!

  4. i am telling you this place along with Kabompo is like some other country out of Zambia. i wonder if these tared roads now….

  5. Before the government starts bribing people with these kind of classifications, they should consider paying the workers their outstanding salaries and also pay the pensioners. Secondly, it is not just Zambezi District that needs de-classification, its many other districts as well.

  6. Bricklayer whatever the name, Whether you like it or not SATA is winning with majority this time. Who are you to say he should not win when RB is older than him. Shame on you. You must be a thief who is benefiting from this useless government. We want checks and balances sorted out.

  7. Kams..you’re lost shame is on you, Mr Sata is done, he had his time, he should have made a change then, we thank him for his service in the government in UNIP and MMD.

  8. What is 20% to be exited about when your basic pay is 1.2 million? HH said the least paid civil servant will get 5million so its up to u to choose the best leader. Zambians never cease to amaze me, good things are in the offing and you reject them SURE
