First lady Thandiwe Banda says women have a huge role to play in ensuring that peace prevails ahead of the September 20 tripartite elections.

Mrs Banda has further urged women to avoid negative campaigns, no matter how difficult the situation may be.

The first lady was speaking in Choma on Thursday at a Southern Province MMD women conference.

Mrs Banda told the gathering that president Banda has prioritised issues affecting women.

She says President Banda has demonstrated his determination to see Zambia develop through his seven point campaign strategy, out of which 3 points address women’s issues.

The First Lady has urged women in Southern province to support president Banda in his quest to deliver development to all parts of the country by voting for him in this month’s general elections.

And Southern Province MMD Chairlady Marr Ngoma says there is no need for women in the province to vote for the opposition when Government under the leadership of President Banda has delivered to people’s expectations.

  1. T.B, where did you get the money to buy all those groceries you were busy distributing in one of the rural areas?? spare us your rantings mom, oh sorry, mwaiche!

  2. The two of you have no moral authority to advise anyone in Zambia.
You are a worst example of moral bankruptcy, who need divine intervention. Stop poisoning other women. Your rapist husband and yourself have brought shame to the dignified office of republican presidency

  3. Fi PF mulekwata ko insoni.Thandi is the most dignified first lady zambia has ever had so have respect ba mambala imwe.Continue salivating ba fikamba.

  4. Is it obligatory for every First Lady in the world to constantly talk about womens issues? Does Angela Merkels’ husband constantly harp on about mens issues? If Thandi had a prominent career of her own then maybe I’d take her seriously because at the moment she isn’t practicing what she preaches. She’s just a glorified house-wife whose job it is to look pretty, wave and open her mouth every now and then to preach about issues, of which, she has very little understanding of.

  5. SHI-T! IS THIS ”IULE” FIT TO BE CALLED FIRTS LADIE , ZAMBIA TWASEBANA,,,ITS A SHAME TO THE WORLD! TAUTINA NOKWIKATA IFYABAKULU IWE IWE KA THANDIWE, NEMINWE SHALIFITA NOKUFITA….WHAT CAN YOU TEACH TO THE YOUNG GIRLS IF YOU CAN TAKE YOUR FATHER AS YOUR HUSBAND COZ OF MONEY….WEMWANAKASHI WALIPAMA.

  6. …….mmhh …and think of it …never talks about underage marriages and child abuse!! ………..and I mean never!! Both actually….is it taboo??

  7. Thandiwe, You are right, ‘women must avoid negative campaigns’. May I remind you that of all women Dora Siliya has the dirtiest mouth and appears to have lost all self-respect and dignity any woman deserves. So Thandi, stop talking in general terms and have a word with your husband’s friend, Dora Siliya.

  8. How old is Thandi? H ow old was she when she got married? What age is considered mature in Zambia. Dont judge a person by appearance, first know the person well before you start judging. Some people are your than their age, some older than their age. Look at Luo she looks older than her age

  9. THANDIWE GO AND ADDRESS DORA SILIYA SHE IS THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN USING DIRTY FPOUL LANGUAGE IN HER CAMPAIGNS.
MASEBO IS A DIGNIFIED LADY AND A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE .YOU HAVE LOST MMD.

  10. well, well, well, what did thandiwe ever do to you? Zambians are always going out of there way to bring each other down, its scary this attitude, it always reminds me of how people always went out of there way to bring Mwanawasa (MHSRIP) down, even when he was doing the right things most of the time, its really a pity this attitude! anyway my opinion is thandiwe is a well mannered woman, and represents Zambia well as a first lady.
