President Rupiah Banda emerges from the ZAF plane at Mongu airport

President Rupiah Banda has arrived in Mongu to a thunderous welcome.

The president who is accompanied by United Liberal Party President Sakwiba Sikota and former Information Minister Vernon Mwaanga says he is happy to be in Mongu where there is overwhelming support for the MMD.

The President says the MMD has overwhelming support in Mongu contrary to reports from other opposition political parties.

Mr. Banda says MMD supporters in Western Province and Mongu in particular should continue to mobilize people ahead of the September 20 polls so that the party wins with a landslide victory.

He says MMD will continue to preach peace ahead of the elections because violence does not pay.

Meanwhile President Banda says he is happy that United Liberal Party Leader Sakwiba Sikota is supporting him in the ongoing campaigns.

He says this is a sign that other political parties are supporting the MMD’s political agenda.

President Banda was speaking at Mongu Airport on arrival from Lukulu.

And a delegation from Angolan President Eduardo Dos Santos has arrived in Mongu to meet President Banda.

Mr. Banda announced the development during his address at the airport when a plane carrying the Angolan delegation landed.

Earlier, President Rupiah Banda called on the people of Western Province to trust him as they did in 2008. President Banda said that in 2008 people from across the country voted for him based on trust and that he had delivered to the expectation of many Zambians.

The President was speaking when he addressed a rally in Zambezi East Constituency today during the day. President Banda also said that Zambians must ensure they carry out peaceful campaigns in order not to disrupt the development that the country has attained.

He said that from what he had delivered so far, there was a lot that can be used to engage people to vote for him and other candidates. President Banda said that North western Province was full of promises going by the resources it is endowed with. He said tat he will continue delivering and sharing resources equally across the country.

And MMD Provincial Chairman Pinakin Patel said that the province is geared to deliver a land slide victory for the MMD and President Banda. Mr Patel said that people in the province are happy with the adoption of MMD candidates.

And MMD National Secretary Richard Kachingwe has urged people in the province to ignore independent candidates. Major Kachingwe says independent candidates are not accountable and are not obliged to anyone.

United Liberal Party President Sakwiba Sikota has also urged people in the province to vote for President Rupiah Banda. Mr Sikota said that it was important that Zambians vote for leaders who will continue delivering development.

And Former Zambian Ambassador to China David Saviye said that people in the province have witnessed what violence can do. Mr Saviye said that the province has hosted people running away from violence and urged them to reject leaders promoting violence.

Veteran politician Vernon Mwaanga who is also former Government Chief Whip has told people in North Western Province that their colleagues in Southern province have pledged not to remain in the opposition again.

And former Vice President Enock Kavindele has called on people to vote for President Rupiah Banda for continued development.

Mr Kavindele says the people of North Western Province have for the first time seen the tarring of the Mutanda Chavuma road which is now nearing completion.

President Rupiah Banda arrived at Zambezi air strip at about 11:54 hours and immediately proceeded to Mbingila Lodge where he met meeting traditional leaders.

The traditional leaders who attended the meeting included Senior Chief Ndungu, Chief Mpindi, Chieftainess Nyakuleng’a and Chief Kucheka.

  1. Oh maa, allow this monister to manipulate you. He will later on send his force to kill you again. He has no heart for western province. His is in eastern, where a quarter of his cabinet will be drwan from. He has developed the eastern. Chipata raods are all being worked on. Rural roads tarred. Yours Western is poverty under him. Saki is being paid for being with you. Think about your future

  2. Nicodemus knew why he went to Jesus at night. in the same vain the big man knows why he had to reach Mongu in the evenings. Paul( Saul) had to be accompanied by Barnabas when he joined the disciples. Saki is playing the same role Barnabas did. The only difference is that Saki is the Identical twin brother to Judas Iscariot. He has escorted his Friend to his enemies and him will run away from him when attacked and will jump on Pabwato.while shouting, Lelo ni – lelo ni lelo!!! Don’t Kubeba!!!!! Don’t kubeba .
OUR NYENGO SLOGAN HAS BEEN “TUMUFULE” A I believe Saki Knows the meaning

  3. Oh nooo!! Western Province please reject this man.  He had many of your children killed not so long ago. He has no heart for you nor your children. He will never develop Bulozi because he is only interested in his own province, his own family.
Malozi lwamikupa shangwe, mutu yo amilati. Mumuzuse fasitulo akusi cwalo lukafela ku shwa ni tala sina ona mazazi a kaufela!

SATA FAILED TO HOLD A RALLY IN MONGU. HE DID NOT EVEN PAY A COURTESY CALL ON THE LITUNGA. RB WILL DO BOTH. THEREFORE RB 2 SATA 0

VOTE WISELY VOTE RB. HIS NAME WILL BE THE FIRST ON THE PRESIDENTIAL BALLOT PAPER.

  5. Check it out! There is something about the accompanying team. All have been on a downward spin and need someone to prop them up no matter the cost!

  6. It appears as if he is waving in surrender. Not yet face the booth first you lunatic. There is no seriousness in the manner he handles national issues. You cannot rule by decree. No it won’t happen. You cannot also have every Zambian supporting you. Most of us now know that all this rushed so called development (which is not there) is there to deceive citizen. You need to be answerable for all the economic and social atrocities you have committed against the people of Zambia.

  7. RB read this article in whole from www. Zambianwatchdog.com

This just part of it, ……………………
That campaign money from mining companies and parastatals has the name Zambia not Rupiah Banda on it. Those hospitals and roads, it is simply the duty of your office and you expect us to demonstrate thanks by voting you back into office? Please tell me, tell us what you did to raise the demand and price of copper and related metals on the world metal markets since you are so keen on taking credit for something that you had absolutely nothing to do with beyond the accident of being born Zambian which same accident we all share with you. If you do not feel shame after my very strong words, the greed and subsequent violence that is in your heart will be multiplied many many times.

  8. Dont kubeba can also mean that those supporting Sata can vote for RB and not tell no one. Its a tricky one. Kulya konse but know where your vote counts.

  9. even 5 people can give u a thunderous welcome. Why didn’t the photographer picture those giving a thunderous welcome….or maybe that is it..there is no way the West is going to vote MMD..keep dreaming

  10. Tumufule!! Tumufule!!
    Donchi kubeba!! Donchi kubeba!!
    Viva Mwamukolo!! mwa mukolo!!!
    Viva pabwatooooooooooooo!!!
    Pa maka!! Pa maka!!!

  11. He only came to MONGU TO MEET PEOPLE FROM ANGOLA, he has NO TIME FOR WESTERN PROVINCE!!!!!

SO don’t be cheated brothers of Western Province!!!!
    Mwa Mukoloooooooooooo!! Pa Bwatooooooooooo!!

    • The Angola’s are there because its the immediate neighbor of Western Province, the country can help develop Western Province through trade!

That clearly says he has more time for Western province than most of his predecessors, in fact he has had a huge number of lozi ministers on his cabinet. The reality is that Western Province was ignored by KK, Chiluba and Mwanawasa to some extent. RB is doing more for it than any of these guys but the young people are just too frustrated to see it!

Taking the angolan president there is a genius move, it shows he knows what can develop the area because Angolans import beef from Brazil…now they can import it from Western Province where they have a lot of cattle, rice etc.

  12. PF in Luangwa suffers setback as 125 members join MMD

Lusaka, September 7, 2011, ZANIS—Opposition Patriotic Front (PF) has suffered another setback in Lusaka Province after 125 of its members from Mwaliya and Mankwe wards in Feira constituency of Luangwa district defected to the ruling MMD today citing tribalism in their party.
MMD Lusaka Province Information and Publicity Secretary Greenock Lupambo, who is in Luangwa district on a campaign trail, confirmed the defections in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka on Wednesday.
The defections from the opposition political parties add to yesterday’s over 500 defectors from the PF and United Party for National Development (UPND)  to the ruling MMD.

  13. Why have reporting standards dropped so low?
RB being given a thunderous welcome in Barotseland?
Just confirmed that LT is pro MMD.
The other one with a bemba name is PF
and UPND is supported by WD.
    Dirty politics.
I’m going to set up an unbiased site soon.

  14. So why does an Angolan delegation have to meet Banda in Mongu? What kinda nonsense is that? Does that serve to show how popular he is amongst his peers in power? To say the least, no matter what Banda does, he does not inspire me in any way, he just lacks that inspirational and motivational touch in him.

    • The consular general is based in mongu and it has to do with the mongu-kalabo-Angola road which will benefit our pipo in barotseland heavily.

  15. What thunderous welcome in Mongu ba LT mulelandapo? I was in Mongu and 3/4 of the crowd was imported. Mongu residents have embraced “don’t kubeba” slogan. They will eat all the ‘gifts’ given to them but their vote remains close to the chest. mmd is in rude shock on 20th Sept. KK was assured up to the last day of the elections that all was well.

  16. Angolan delegation could be organizing militias for RB to spark violence in Western Province because Violence is RB’s plan B’ to rig elections.

  17. RB has done much for us the people of western province, the likes of satas completely neglected us and there is noway we can trust them now.He is buiding the most expensive road in the hisrory of zed,Mongu-kalabo.And the Angolan delegation has come in to discus how this road can be extended into Angola, this is a milestone.Secondly the senanga-sesheke road is also being tarred for the first time in the history of zambia. This is real development not promissory notes.Thats y we shall give him 100% votes on 20th september.

  18. Go RB,Go MMD.Western Province,do not be fooled by these short-sighted oppositions.Viva MMD, viva RB,viva Westerners!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. RB can go anywhere with his head high because he has shown that he is president for all Zambians without exception.
This is the type of leader Zambian are looking forward to on 20th September, 2011.
    Go RB, gooo..

  20. But ba PF you surprise me, every day people are defecting to join MMD, you are busy denying the fact that Sata is losing, why do’nt you just concede defeat, may be you want to wait for 20/9, it is better to start now so that come 20/9, you can live with the fact that RB is still your President you haters, you make me sick, RB nafuti nafuti nafuti, chwelaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  21. I think a lot of you people will be very miserable and sad to live in ZED after 20/9 if you mean what you are writing about RB, may be you can start packing and find another country because the man is still coming back to power, I wonder if you can live with this pain in your hearts up to 2016. Chwelaaaaaaaaaaaaaa RB nafuti nafuti nafuti Chwelaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  22. wenyo vi PF valuza vipuba vamene viuzinga constitution ya UNIP ya 1964. PF is full of danderheads surely the copy and paste you like? Manifesto ya UPND Constitution ya UNIP Majority members exMMD Kwliba make things on your own vipuba imwe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. IM IMPRESSED WITH OUR PRESIDENT..INDEED HE IS THE PRESIDENT 4 ALL ZAMBIANS…….MY FAMILY AND I WILL VOTE 4 RB…PANKOLOKO CHABE…..

  24. Well the proliferation of political parties and presidents has minuses and not pluses for some parties. If MMD has suffered defections in Mongu following Milupi forming his political party then one can smell problems. But since there has been no news in the PFOST about those defections anyone knows where that trouble is. Banda did not mistaken the UPND crowd for MMD, so he did not even come closer to lynching. The bashikuli cannot even differentiate between the UPND green colours with his bad katapakatapa, and he almost got the spear in his butt. RB move on in Western Province and woo the permanent MMD members and other doubters to the polls to retain you in State House. Weluu fi PFOST and SATANA

  25. Zambians are used to suffering. Another five years of suffering under RB and MMD will not change anything. If people do not want change then let them continue to suffer. Who cares!! There is nowhere Zambia is going with these corrupt MMD thieves at the helm. Sometimes it takes a very long time for citizens of a banana reublic like Zambia to see the need for change.

  26. The reason why SATA got lost and went to UPND:
Here what happened can be simple to explain.
Donchi Kubeba concept was applied to SATA by his own people.
They refused to give him information as to where they had organised the rally.
The PF organisers agreed that charity starts at home.
They went further to say that we must begin to implement the DONCHI KUBEBA policy within our party before implementing it at national level.
When some said tell the bigman SATA where we are others said No, DONCHI KUBEBA.
That is why the bigman SATA ended up being lost.

  27. It’s actually a nice and helpful piece of info. I am satisfied that you simply shared this helpful info with us. Please keep us up to date like this. Thank you for sharing.
