Government releases Bursaries funds to trades training institutions across the country

Share

Government has released funds towards the payment of bursaries for one thousand vulnerable students in various trades training institutions cross the country.

Science and Technology Acting Permanent Secretary Albert Kayamba says 3 point 9 billion kwacha has been released out of the annual allocation of five point five billion kwacha.

Mr Kayamba says government has further put in place a deliberate policy to ensure as many children as possible access bursaries in rural institutions.

He was speaking shortly after inspecting the nine point four billion kwacha expansion works at Mwinilunga trades training institute in North Western Province.

The works which include the construction of new hostels, new administration block and new classrooms were initiated by President Banda soon after assuming office in 2008.

And Mwinilunga Trades Principal Damson Yikona thanked government for expanding the school.

She says the institution will help meet demands from the new investments in the mining sector in the province.

  2. Bursaries only during elections?? This attitude of betraying Zambians and without the BILL OF RIGHTS will continue perpetuating poverty, ignorance and disease among our people until we start showing politicians the RED CARD. Politics is a service to the people NOT STEALING and LYING to the people!! Development and Caring for Zambians must be an ongoing devotion of a politician’s whole term in office ,NOT educating a Zambian during elections only. Wake up Zambians, We need Change. The change we can believe in, change that can serve Zambians selflessly all throughout, leadership that is dedicated to develop Zambia unconditionally. Ist it a shame?? The same Leaders who were enemies of the people by refusing to enact the BILL OF RIGHTS now they want the very people they cheated with the!
