Embattled Lusaka Province opposition MMD chairperson William Banda is on October 12, set to appear before the Lusaka Magistrate court for mention.
This is in a matter in which he is charged with causing violence in Chongwe last month.
Mr Banda will undergo trial in November.
He was last Thursday granted a sixty million kwacha cash bail, by Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate Joshua Banda.
Magistrate Banda has also ordered the Mr Banda to provide, two working sureties from recognized institutions.
Earlier, Mr Banda 65, pleaded not guilty to one count of proposing violence
Mr Banda is accused of having incited violence last month by instructing MMD cadres to beat their PF counterparts in Chongwe district during election campaigns.

It looks like 79 DAYS TO GO is William Tekere Banda’s brother or son thus we can forgive you for your misguided information. I can advise you to utilize ZWD which is pro UPND and MMD. On the other hand we wont waste time arguing with you becoz we are busy building the government and cleaning the mess which your brother Tekere or it your dad and your president RB created. Keep on counting to 90 days, surely that wont help you becoz PF is too strong and infact stronger than it was on the day of elections. At whose rally did MMD cadres attack the PF cadres? If the rally was for MMD, then why did PF cadres attend? This means that PF cadres wanted it. They were supposed to stay away. SATA has pardoned his criminal Judge Ngoma who clobbered Sam Zulu. Any way days are numbered.

I saw the footage you are talking about and that was sad, but to our defense we expected MMD to rig again and were not taking any nonsense, the frustration of being cheated out of the people’s choice was just too much! Otherwise as you can see as PF we are championing the call for peace although a few chaps here and there are still sorting out the MMD haters.
As for people being beaten brutally at long acres and kamwala, there is no evidence pointing at PF specifically so it is hard to accuse Kabimba infact he already took back that statement and no direct violence came from it

If Judge Ngoma did what he did out of what President Sata described as POLITICAL CIRCUMSTANCES,how could we describe what William Banda did?If President Sata can pardon Judge Ngoma a CONVICTED CRIMINAL,why cant he pardon William Banda who is just a suspect? The President has got powers to pardon a convict, not a suspect. He cannot pardon William Banda at this stage because William is still a suspect. If he did, you will the same people saying the President is interferring with the Justice System. Let the law take its course, and once William Tekere Banda is convicted (as was the case in Judge Ngoma’s case), then you can call on the President to pardon Tekere…

Wlliam Tekere Banda is a free man until proved guilty. There is nothing HE MCS can do about this for now.
I hope he goes in even for 6 months. There are people in there who will love him trust me!

Please note that the President has already interfered with the justice system by ‘pardoning’ the Mongu rioters! They were charged by the courts and he freed them before they were tried by the courts which in effect means he has no regards for the rule of Law and would have quite happily pardoned William Banda had he been pro-PF. It is clearly evident for all to see, unless of course one is PF, that we are now in a period of political vengeance which is no good for anyone later on a nation. Sata is so desperate to achieve his 90 day promise, that he is ignoring process, the courts and anything logical that he maybe receiving in advise. I am certain advice is being given otherwise that another indictment on the part of his cabinet and advisers.

Sometimes, tables turn around. When people are in power and do alot of boot licking to desperate politicians who are ignorant of how to manage resources as they feel they will be in power for MUYAYAYA…….why can’t they protect him now? Let him pay for his crimes, straight to Chimbwakayila.
