Dr Mahtani’s leasing firm asks court to squash seizure of its banks accounts by DEC

Leasing Finance Limited has asked the Lusaka High Court to quash the seizure of its banks accounts by the Drug Enforcement Commission-DEC.

The financial institution has filed an originating motion in the court, to contest the seizure of its accounts.

Leasing Finance Limited is among the Mahtani Group of Companies, owned by Lusaka Business Man Dr Rajan Mahtani.

The financial institution has contended that the DEC seized its dollar and Kwacha bank accounts between April and August this year.

In the affidavit, Leasing Finance Limited has stated that the DEC seized the accounts to facilitate investigations.

The accounts in question are maintained at Stanbic and First Alliance Banks in Ndola.

What are you to trying to hide? Just because his bank has been returned to him that doesn’t mean outstading issues should be ignored or as you call it yourself squashed.

has he been cleared with all cases now? giving back his bank is one thing and that has got nothing to do with those cases still in court. although we sympathise with him for the persecutions from rb and co., let the cases be exhausted completely. we dont want another repeat of the chiluba aquittal saga here.

The case has gone to courts who will decide what happens next based on available evidence. No political influence. Period!!!

If they let go of his other cases, then government should release all thousands of golden Zambians that had no money for lawyers and were arrested on petty charges. PF let the rule of Law here prevail. Happy he got Finance bank back but his money should not buy him freedom nor the other killer Mohan.

its not about hatred here my bro, its about the rule of law. fine the bank has been handed back to him but there are glaring discrepancies that he orchestrated when he was the chairman of the bank that have been revealed. should we just sweep these under the carpet all in the name of hatred? come on man am also a pf supporter but a wrong is a wrong.
