Police on the Copperbelt have arrested one out of the four men alleged to have gang raped a woman in Chingola Thursday morning.

Copperbelt Acting Police Chief Milner Muyambango says Douglas Chanda was arrested Thursday afternoon while the other three suspected rapists are on the run.

Mr Muyambango says the incident happened around 2400 hours Wednesday night into Thursday morning when four men attacked two women who were walking from a funeral house.

One of the women managed to escape from the bandits while the other was caught and dragged to their house where they repeatedly raped her from 0100 hours until 0400 hours Thursday morning.

And police in Ndola have launched a manhunt for a gang of four armed men who robbed a woman of thirty million Kwacha at gun point in her home in broad daylight.

Mr Muyambango has told ZNBC News that four men went to the home of Suatna Sairan at 1000 hours on Wednesday and found the woman in the kitchen.

He says the four bandits forced the woman at gun point to take them where the money was kept.

The cash was in Zambian Kwacha and United States Dollars.

Mr. Muyambango says in both the Chingola and Ndola incidents the victims have told the police that they will identify the culprits.

  1. OH my ..this is really terribly. Please castrate that animal.Catch the other 3 and castrate them.Hang their testicles in public for every other animal out there to be warned. My heart goes out to that poor woman .I weep as I read this terrible story.

  2. Such things still exists???? castrate the *****s and feed their stinking balls to dogs before sending them to swim with the fished in communion style PERIOD:

  3. [UN Missions] while others are Doing Police work, Others are enjoying in UN Mission Making a lot of money, There should be no corruption in the office of the IG as well, these officers in UN mission are surpposed to be there 4 only ONE YEAR, But because of corruption they continue 4 One year Six Months, others for Two years, While others who qualify to go 4 UN are Blocked by these Corrupt Police officers.

    • MY brother concentrate on SAT no one is blocking anyone in the UN mission. As long as you qualify you can go so just concentrate on your SAT and pray to God that you one day make it. The IG is never corrupt at all only that may be you want things on a silver plate. There is no Maximum years one can stay in the mission as long as his/her services are needed. Zambians in the missions wherever you are please lift the Zambian flag high and you always make us proud back home. We are praying for you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper in the name of Jesus.

    • Dull officer.Ask if you dont know. Now go for your sat, pass, wait for the medicals time do them wait patiently within 18 months you will be flying in KQ or SAA airways hope you will not take your indispline in the mission.

  4. moyo moses, make sure that all those involved are also castrated like the rapists we are talking about. these two women also, walking home at 2400hrs. what about the men who sleep outside. wouldnt they have escorted them home. anyway the damage has already been done. sorry to the culprit. may the law take its course.

  5. These are rapists, they do not qualify to be classified as bandits! And unfortunately, they will continue with their practice even in prison. The best thying to do with such animals is kill them period!

  6. Why were the two women walking after midnight knowing that it is dangerous doing so. Its unfortunate ouir women folk some times ask for problems. As for the Ndola woman there must be some who had the inside information that she had money in her house. One cannot take such a risk to keep such huge amount of cash in a house yet we have bank all over. Lets be serious with the way we do things.

  7. Lord have Mercy! Rape,Murder, grave robbery, etc, are not only sinful acts which have negative effects on society, but they also have serious implications for eternity.Education background(family, school, church, and associates), Environment, and Personal Effort, greatly contribute to character formation(positive or negative). How is the background of those rapists? Were they under the influence of hard drugs, or had been constantly exposed to obsene pornographic materials? There is also a great possibility of Demonic Influence, looking at the manner, duration, and effect of the act on an innocent lady.If not possessed, the rapists are obsessed.Lord have mercy.

  8. # 6. There is no maximum period of the tour of duty for Peacekeeping OPS there is only a minimum which is 6 months. You can work as long as you want provided your country mandates it. The 1 yr policy is not the UN policy it is own making of ZP. Infact the UN treasures working with staff with experience not new comers without mission experience. However, do not worry your time is coming you will go and serve at Peace OPs.

  9. These rapists? 01 – 04 this is as good as killing someone. That is why I feel Shalia law is somehow good. For such if convicted the diks would be cut. The shalia law is so strict man’s conduct is property regulated and controlled. Our English law is so weak that it even protects criminals in the name of democracy while anarchy and strife thrives. God forbid

  10. Just zap those fockers period….or at the least 50yrs in jail without parole…! and YOU rapists why u rape women like Dora Siliya so she can close her nasty ntweno….!!

  11. No 6 MOYO, You dont know what you are talking about my friend, its only that you are also desperate to come to the mission. Extensions have reasons, either the person has a sensitive position or the mission is closing and the UN cannot waste resources to come and start inducting other staff when their are already those on the ground.
In UN there is no corruption my friend, also this is police work in mission.
So learn to ask WHY? before you utter any nosenses or accuse people of dirt vices which their not even involved in.
Any way, nkesa kupela ko Dollar ngana isa.
