Government has dismissed rumors circulating suggesting that there is tension between the Patriotic Front government and the Litunga also that a team of paramilitary was sent to Barotseland.

He told a media briefing in Mongu that the PF government has not sent any paramilitary officers in the district since it came to power.

The Minister said the only security officers he recalls coming to Mongu was a brass band that came to play during this year’s Independence Day celebrations at the stadium.

“I remember Luena Barracks brass band having come to Mongu during this year’s Independence Day celebrations specifically to play music for us and not to be sent to Barotseland as claimed by some people,” he added.

Western Province Minister Nathaniel Mubukwanu said BRE has welcomed the PF government at different government forums and has already made it clear that the establishment is committed to work with the government of the day.

Mr. Mubukwanu who is also ruling PF’s Mongu Central Member of Parliament described as cheap propaganda rumours that government has tension with the Litunga adding that it was just mere internet gossip.

“This is what crazy people are busy putting on the internet, the BRE has welcomed our government with two hands, I mean you yourselves as JournalistS have seen them attend and participate in many government programmes since we came into power not so?” Mubukwanu said.

Mr. Mubukwanu said both BRE and the PF government are responsible citizens whose main objective is to ensure that Western Province is developed and has since advised all not to listen to people whose intentions are to mislead the nation with lies.

He emphasized that the Patriotic Front government is in good books with the Litunga and the Barotse Royal Establishment as a whole.

  1. What makes these Pathological Faggots believe that all Zambians are Pathetic Fools to be fed lie upon lie? I renounce my nationality right now!

  2. # 2, what are you talking about? Who is dividing Zambia, is it President Sata who is appointing only Bembas in his Administration or Lozis who are fighting for their rights to be restored? You are a tribalist yourself.

  3. Western Province has a number of Tribes (all Galant and to be treated equal). Hence the issue of who wants to Seceed must not impose on others. We the Zambians should not entertain the Barotse Boundary to include Copperbelt, part of Central and Southern as being propergated by mischeavious people. Already the Gallant Nkoyas are not interested in the secession talk. One Zambia One Nation with equity distribution of resources is what should drive this Country.

  4. Who are the Nkoyas?and you,Mpangula Mputyu, refer to them as Gallant if you do not know history of Barotseland keep quiet, Sir!

  5. Nkoyas went to barotseland to seek refuge after running away from main ‘soli-land’ after they created the same tension with their brothers. Dont worry they will move on to seek refuge in Northern Rhodesia after Barotseland’s independence. Thats just their nature. Pheeewwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. We have a govt which is not strategic in approach of issues. This issue was almost dead till this un-call for comment from this minister. It is clear then the govt has something to hide. On the other hand I think PF must stream line who comments on what and when at this pace I worry for them. The HE Sata should reconsider the job he has given Chella, he is not doing him a good service either. He can pick another Bembe with experience.

  7. mubukwanu ki lilete (mubukwanu li tole). how dare he dakes us barotse for a ride. wena mubukwanu, you think we are dunder heads and have no common sense. no wonder no one except mongu voted for PF. come 2011 kuya bebele. we’ll show you what we are made of. you were busy talking against MMD when in actual sense you just needed a job. and above all you are very bad heartted and we all knw that. dont get too clever, you political career will soon come to an end. ask mulyata (former mmd MP Mongu central). MASIPA

  8. We shall invite great Nkoyas to the round table. We Shumina the man is on the way! We are sure he is coming back to galvanise the Barotse battle cry. Munkoya ni mukwnga, mumbowe kapa misubiya, kibona malozi tota. Eni, shangwe.

  9. i forsee more blood sheld in western and north western provinces in the near future, than it has been with R B.government.Now when this will take place ,what will happen to the Mongu commission of equiry findings.

  10. Barotseland has never had a corrupt Litunga like the current one,he can only be compared to his uncle Yeta Nalute mucabatu who was so cruel against his Indunas and people in general. The one who conived with Banda to kill innocent people who were fighting fo their own rights. He is a coward who cannot say anything in support of his people against any govt. Mubukwanu you are a part of the royal family what could you say apart from the words you have just uttered.

  11. Mubukwanu must be either out of touch or insane, or both.  This is the problem of cohabiting with people whose values and cultures you don’t know.  Mubukwanu is a Bemba trojan pizi used to infiltrate Malozi. Was the brass band sent to protect the Litunga with blaring trumpets and tambourines last week and they left a message at the Kwandu saying that they wanted to reduce tension with their music?

Where did the PFooters get this thicko?

  12. @mpangula mputyu

If you are Nkoya, please go home to Kaoma and visit even once a year.  Do a survey and see how many Mankoya you will find in Kaoma boma.  Also try the rural areas.  My estimate is that Makoya are outnumbered by Maluvale alone in Kaoma district. Barotseland is for all people who were there before independence, whether Nkoya, Subiya, Nyengo, Imilangu, Toka, Kwangwa etc.  Mankoya will die the same death as Malozi tota.  Bembas don’t notice your rebellious rants.  You are behaving like an insolent stepchild in a home.

  13. lets watch the space..time will tell..soon we shall hear that you are running away ..hahaha..aluye kaufela..remove masholi mwa buLozi..

  14. Some of the anti Nkoya statements on some comment posts clearly expose you very well on your thinking. What you seem to forget is that such statements only strength our argument for establishing Kafue Province and why we object to the so called BA64.
Your statements only generate support to us. We do not have to work so hard to expose you because you are busy exposing yourselves, thank you very much.

Zambians can see beyond your statements that is why they see the need to support the creation of another Province because a need can be clearly identified.

There is need for us as a Country to make sure that we create a system of governance that embraces all, a system that is fair, equal, just and accepted by all.

Zambia is a beautiful and peaceful country, let us keep it that way.

  15. @ 25 The key word in your post is estimate, that is just what you think. Do us all a favour and tell us your tribe out of the so called 37 tribes of Western Province and also tell us the number of your tribe since we know that Lozi is not a tribe per say?

Give us a percentage of each tribe and you will see who the majority are in Western Province.

You will be surprised to know that it is the Nkoyas. Go to the bbc website and search for Shanjo Language, read the article. Shanjo is another dialect of Nkoya, found in the remote areas of Western Province, not even in Kaoma.

The Nkoya language has about 16 dialects that are recorded as individual tribes when in actual fact they are all Nkoya.

That will tell you that Nkoyas are literally all over WP and beyond. One Zambia!

  16. i had a pretty good feeling this barotse issue wasn’t dead.
i think its time this was dealt with to avoid it escalating.

firstly, we need to sit down and reanalyze the implications of the barotse agreement of 1964.
The pressure cooker has been kept boiling for too long. sealing one more of it holes wont will
reduce the hiss but will instead trigger an explosion.

    lets talk reconciliation.

if that fails, lets then move on to the issue of realistic boarders.

all subordinate chiefs pay tribute to their paramount chief.
find how many of the tribes in the area paid tributes to the litunga and wallah!
    u have your boarders.

i wish it could be this simple.

  17. mubukwanu ki sila sa ma lozi. halas akun se lukona ku eza mutu ya na swanela ku lu lwanela kiyena mubukwanu sakata ya i piza mwana silena. shame on him mane mwendi kiyena mulumi wa masole. ki sila ki mubeteki he is just there to fatten his pocket. wester province has been neglected for so long.town ya luna is just like a village.honestly compare it with the towns ya manyukunyuku.muyaho omu telele konji N.P.F
