Zambia Should Win Today-Malitoli

Share

Mordon Malitoli hopes Christopher Katongo’s and his team mates will today end Zambia’s 38-year wait for the Africa Cup trophy.

Zambia will be making their third attempt at winning the Africa Cup after losing their first two previous finals in 1974.
Malitoli was in the team that finished second in 1994 and third in 1996.

“I really hope they win because we tried un 1994 and failed in the final we tried again 1996 and finished third and in 1998 and didn’t qualify for the quarterfinals,” Malitoli said.

“It is the only way to make up for the shame of us failing then and I really hope they can do it tonight.”

The team meanwhile is injury free and trained last evening in front of vice president Guy Scott who made a stopover at the match venue to greet the players.

Meanwhile, Leon Mba International airport in Libreville is a sea of green as reportedly six charter flights from Lusaka land in Libreville with approximately 600 fans making the trip for the dream final.

The match will start at 20:30 Zambian time.

  7. Mushota you are a disgrace and how come today you want to play ZAMBIAN when you have been writing s””t about us. FYI Mordon Malitoli is a great some of Zambia who played against the likes of Amokachi, Emunike, Rashid Yekini in the 94 AFCON final. He also played in the 1996 AFCON and even scored a goal. He played for Nkana Football Club with his brother Kenneth Malitoli. You are the one who should keep your trap shut!
