President Michael Sata has delegated His Honour the Vice-President Dr Guy Scott to grace the 2012 Nc’wala traditional ceremony of the Ngoni people of Eastern Province.

President Sata was invited by His Royal Highness Inkosi Yamankosi Paramount Chief Mpezeni IV to officiate at this year’s Nc’wala traditional ceremony which is scheduled for next week, February 25, 2012 in Chipata.

However, the Head of State has formally notified Paramount Chief Mpezeni and the entire Ngoni Royal Establishment of his unavailability for this significant ritual due to other national commitments.

The President reaffirmed his Government’s enthusiasm to promoting and safeguarding tradition and culture.

“Traditional ceremonies such as the Nc’wala undeniably inhabit a very distinctive segment in the long-standing history of our country and its friendly populace. As they manifest the Zambian people’s social life, rituals and age-old traditions,” President Sata said.

And Vice-President Scott will be accompanied by Hon. Geoffrey Mwamba (Defence minister), Hon. Given Lubinda (Foreign Affairs minister), Hon. Prof. Nkandu Luo (Local Government minister), Hon. Fackson Shamenda (Information minister), Hon. Sebastian Zulu (Justice minister) and Hon. Inonge Wina (Minister for Chiefs and Traditional Affairs).

Others are Hon. Charles Banda (provincial minister Eastern Province), Hon. Forrie Tembo (Information deputy minister), Hon. Effron Lungu (Foreign Affairs deputy minister), Hon. Isaac Banda (Mines deputy minister), Hon. Nicholas Banda (Agriculture deputy minister) and Hon. Col. Joseph Lungu (Defence deputy minister).

  1. PF government, its time to show us some development. You are just busy attending ceremonies. You have no plan. What is the Deputy Minister of Mines going to be doing there? Why do you need to send the Minister of Information and his deputy to the same place?

  2. bayopachani if its medical adice let the national we shall stop calling for the president to attend this things because looking at the number of people going it still is not cost serving at all… i think to ma allowance to keep some people happy is doing the trick here

  3. Awe mwaula sana. All of you to go and parade yourself before a puppet , rapsist and uneducated chief like Mpezeni? You mean there are no better things to do? Bo Given amuye kwa hae muyo potela Mulena Amina au.. Come on Bo Inonge, YOU HAVE BETTER TRADITION than watching a chief who is always begging for salt at state house in the name of chimuya.

  4. Lets hope this is not a move aimed at avoiding attending The Kuomboka in the very near future. We want no one else but him to attend.90 days + and we are still waiting for his promise of BA64.

  5. Ayenda yenda maningi Nkandu Luo. She is on every trip with a group of ministers! I hope she dresses decently, and not like …she used to in the past. Mwakula manje a Porofesa!

  6. You are more than happy to send him away and to mud hats yet you can’t let him act as president when you are away, what type of creature are you hiding in the your office cabinet Michael that only your pal Chikwanda is allowed to see!!

  7. Since Mr Chikwanda is the substantive VP, why not send him? This is really taking people for granted. It will be interesting to see which traditional ceremonies the President will attend.
