    “But why, some say, the moon? Why choose this as our goal? And they may well ask why climb the highest mountain? Why, 35 years ago, fly the Atlantic? Why does Rice play Texas?  We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard ”

That is a powerful statement given in the speech by former US president John F. Kennedy in 1962 . It can be taken literally, as at that time the US was preparing to explore the outer space , or it can be taken into the context of our own lives , that is , doing what is perceived to be impossible . People may tell you that you will never reach a particular  goal due to your current circumstances  but you have to be determined and go for it.

   “Many years ago the great British explorer George Mallory, who was to die on Mount Everest, was asked why did he want to climb it. He said, ‘Because it is there.’ Well, space is there, and we’re going to climb it, and the moon and the planets are there, and new hopes for knowledge and peace are there. And, therefore, as we set sail we ask God’s blessing on the most hazardous and dangerous and greatest adventure on which man has ever embarked.” 

You have to get rid of the mentality of  “it cant be done” . If you can see it , you can achieve it !!

  1. Oh yea anything is possible like building a bridge over the Zambezi to connect the five constituencies on the western bank of the Zambezi to mongu. The British and the French have built a railine under the sea.

  2. indeed this is a statement from the wise of all USA presidondos.we need the strength the knowledge and everything else to reach the top God bless mother Zambia

    • Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first ever to land on the Moon on July 20, 1969, at 20:18 UTC. Further, Neil Armstrong became the first to step onto the Moon 6 hours after the landing on 21 July, 02:56 UTC. A third member of the mission, Michael Collins, was waiting to pick them up in an orbit around the Moon. They all returned to Earth safely after travelling in space for 8 days.

  3. And even if you can’t see it but you can imagine it … you can surely achieve it. Fear of the unknown is what kills us all but on March 4, 1933 in his inaugural speech, President Franklin D Roosevelt said and I quote “… The only thing we have to fear is fear itself …” So one can move out of ones comfort zone and venture into the unknown, just look into your mind, amazing things reside there. What A Sweet Life!!!
