Luka Lungu: TP Mazembe An Exciting Challenge

Striker Luka Lungu has described his first five months at DR Congo giants TP Mazembe as an exciting challenge.

Lungu quit Faz Super Division Champions Power Dynamos last December to join Mazembe for an undisclosed fee.

Speaking to LT Sports in Kitwe, Lungu said he was enjoying to play for Mazembe.
He said his Zambian compatriots at the Lubumbashi based side helped him to settle quickly.

Lungu admitted that communication was a big challenge when he just arrived at the club.

“Yes, I am enjoying. At first only communication was a challenge but the arrival of Zambian players from the Africa Cup helped me a lot and i started playing freely,” He said.

Lungu added that while playing for Mazembe his dream of playing in Europe is still alive.

“It is in Europe where you can play good football, so i am still focusing on moving to Europe probably when my three year contract ends,” He said.

And Lungu says he is confident his team will win this season’s CAF Champions League.

  1. TP Mazembe represents the peak of the unrecognized platform of African soccer which shocked the likes of European giants like Dologba last year.

We should all stop day dreaming of moving to European football and develop our own African brand. This is how Brazil and the other South American countries have been dominating the World Cup, not by all traveling to Europe but, reveling in their own style and brand which nobody else know about. This is how the Kenyan sprinters dominate the long distance races, not by becoming economic refugees in Europe, but maintaining their own brand, calibre and style of sporting discipline. Let us start being proud of what is ours pepo. There is only one Zambia, one Africa

  2. Unfortunately Luka Lungu can’t play in national team under HR, he has his Katongo & Thomas Nyerenda. Too bad for inform players.

  3. luka you had a big chance of migrating to the bundesliga germnay in december 2012 but you opted for tp. we respected that. so all the best and may you make it 3 years. the doors are still open.
