Yesterday, British secretary of state for international development Andrew Mitchell has reaffirmed his government’s support to Zambia.

Mr. Mitchell says the British government will not balance its books at the expense of the poor people in the world despite the financial difficulties in the Eurozone.

ZNBC’s Melesiana Chibwe reports that Mr Mitchell was speaking to Zambian journalists after a closed door meeting with President Michael sata at the Department of International development offices which took about 30 minutes.

He says president Sata wants to see donor funds trickling down to the poor Zambians.

Mr. Sata also took time to walk about the streets to greet British citizens.

Mr Yaluma says geologists and mining engineers are among the skills his ministry is looking for at the moment.

  1. It is like reading a page from granma or pravada! Why would you walk the streets of London to greet British citizens? How do you even tell that they are British citizens? Honestly no one of those people even know you nor give a damn about you! Primitive behaviour!

    • Kazungu ka mipita bwana. The interpretation of the sentence in the story doesn`t mean he went walking the way you do in your village. u bwelele ku sukulu

    • Mbewe the report above states ‘Mr. Sata also took time to walk about the streets to greet British citizens.’ What does that mean? I think Rod got it very right sir/madam.

  2. After condeming RB the glob trotting has finally begun. What skilled manpower are talking about ba minister? there is plenty of loafing UNZA and CBU graduates that you deny jobs every day bacause they have no experience instead of empowering them with the experience and exposure needed like Kaunda used to

  3. British secretary of state for international development Andrew Mitchell took just 30 minutes to discard the lumpen from his office. I hear Sata told him he plans to rename our country Elizabezia in honour of Queen Elizabeth and would make us a foreign dominion of the UK. He asked Andrew Mitchell to quickly advise the Queen to appoint either George Michael or Elton John as Governor-General to The UK Dominion of Elizabezia. Sata also confided in Andrew that should she accept his offer, the only condition is that he be allowed to rename Lusaka as Pamberi-e-Ukwa, in honour of himself!
