The Lusaka Magistrate Court has set July 9 , for former Communication and Transport Minister Dora Siliya’s trial in the case of abuse of authority of office.

This is in a matter where Ms. Siliya, who is also former Education Minister, is alleged to have directed the cancellation of a duly awarded contract of the installation of a radar system.

The radar system was earmarked for installation at the Zambia Air Traffic Management Surveillance.

Chief Resident Magistrate Joshua Banda set the date when the matter came up for mention.

Ms. Siliya did not however, turn-up as she was reported to have had permission from the court to be absent.

She was represented by her lawyer Lubinda Linyama.

Meanwhile a witness has narrated how he was instructed to deliver 20-bicycles to former mines deputy minister Gabriel Namulambe.

Aaron Soko has told the Lusaka Magistrate Court that Ministry of Mines Director of Mines Mooya Lumamba directed him to deliver the bicycles.

Mr Soko who is Ministry of Mines, Environment Engineer was testifying before Lusaka Resident Magistrate Wilfred Muma.

This is in a matter where Mr Namulambe is charged of diverting 20 bicycle for small scale miners.

  1. Finally she will have her day in court…..
There is a legal maxim that says:
Commodum ex injuria sua non habere debet (a wrongdoer should not derive any benefits from his own wrong)
    Let justice prevail…

  2. THIS IS ONE WOMAN WHO WILL GO TO JAIL DESERVEDLY. IT WILL GIVE HER TIME TO REFLECT ON ALL HER TRANSGRESSIONS CONCERNING HER MISCHIEF WITH RUPHIA BANDA & SONS.

  3. I would be willing to be locked up in mukobeko with Dora for life.Just two mu cello no prison warder or minister of home affairs disturbing.

  4. I am ready to defend her. Cant have such a beutiful woman in Prison, it will be a waste of “resources”.

  5. Dora cancelled a corrupt contract and got the Airport Radar repaired for free. So where is the crime and what is Dora’s benefit in this? Every Zambian has been poisoned by Mmembe’s propaganda and people have stopped thinking for themselves. There is a K14billion judgement whose execution has been stayed and none of you sees anything wrong. What if the K14billion was owed by Dora, what would you people have been saying. Let the due judicial process take place and we will hear whether Dora had anything to gain.

  6. its good to learn it hard way at times we were not fools for voting you guys in those positions lock her up

  7. All of you who are celebrating are ignorant about the matter. Please read the Siliya tribunal in full and you will find the truth. The tribunal set after Harrington complained absolved her of the matter and is innocent. She will use the same document and that of Zulu report for defence. Why are they pf not releasing the Zulu COI report? So dont just rant read……If you want to hide anything from africans just put it in a book. Google the report and you will find the truth!! Leave Dora alone if you have nothing to do and dont try people in the media!!

  8. Siliya will be convicted, especially after changing tthe supreme court Justices……The true test of  judiciary reforms-political scores

  9. I may not like CNP, but then this is one arse hole who deserves it, i hope u will pee in that small quarantine.

  10. she will appeal using bail pending appeal, then will delay the case until PF is out of office or she will just join PF then the whole thing will be buried

    • Noel Sinkamba you spend your time cheating on your wife with underage girls and come here to post comments. You should be in church you rubbish man.

  11. Surely this will distract a lot of unwanted attention.
People , please now concentrate on this case, let the unemployed youth rot for now,let UNZA stay shut etc…..donchi kubeba.

  12. If Dora is going to court so also should GBM, he too is abusing his authority and paying himself. There is no fight on corruption in our country, the PF is just settling scores with their so called enemies. Come 2016 when they loose elections some will die immediately of pressure.
