Defense Minister Geoffrey Mwamba has described as foolish allegations by online publisher, Zambian Watchdog that he had gone to the United Kingdom to visit Republican President Michael Sata.

Mr. Mwamba said that it is foolish for the watchdog to insinuate that he had gone to visit the president when he had gone for his son’s graduation ceremony at Manchester University.

Mr. Mwamba has threatened to take legal action against the watchdog after the 7 day ultimatum given to them to apologize elapses.

Speaking at a media briefing at his office this afternoon, Mr. Mwamba further warned the online publication not to drag the army in the issue.

He has also warned the Watchdog never to insult President Michael Sata as by so doing, they will be digging their own grave.

Mr. Mwamba said that if the former ruling party, the MMD tolerated their works, the Patriotic Front government will not, as it has nothing to hide.

The Defense Minister has also warned UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to be careful in the manner he conducts himself politically.

Mr. Mwamba says if not careful, Mr. Hichilema’s political career will never yield anything positive because he lacks direction.

  1. Hon. Minister of Defence has now developed the trait of shooting in all directions in the sky with the hope of inflicting his stray bullets on any birds that fliy within the range of misguided missiles. GBM’s calling upon the Police and Army to join his political game is a traversy on the freedom of speech. GBM wants to plug the throats of the media as his Post Newspaper continues to publish falsehoods. GBM and Kabimba are shocked that their vuvuzela, The Post has lost popularity to the Zambian public as few people buy and read what they expect and want to hear in the Post. Many readers and viewers have opted to switch to independent TV and electronic media. The more GBM speaks, the more he raises people’s speculations on the health of his President. Silence pays.

    • Iwe chikala did you read what the foking site said in their editorial? Iwe wapalafye wiso amasushi!

  2. His statements sound confused.

    1.
How does ‘insulting Sata’ leading to ‘digging own grave’

    2. If PF have nothing to hide, then they would be the ones to tolerate the watchdog, NOT MMD who he suggests had things to hinder, (chimbwi no common sense?)

    3. How come he seem to have an interest in HH yielding something positive?

  3. Old age is catching me my kings. The hyena has lost all the gunpowder and teeth. Is this seat cursed with short life? Pliz can all the sangomas come together and find out who killed Mr Mazoka maybe the seat will be cleansed.

  4. what has HH got to do with Watchdog? Mr Minister can you check our constitution and see that there is a provision of freedom of expression

  5. Kasama is for Bembas. Mugala can not stand as a candidate in Kasama – thus declared Mwamba during a by election campaign refering to Mugala a Namwanga like Nawakwi. Tribalist like his boss sata

  6. GBM is a very senior government official. He should leave that to Nawakwi the D-sucker or Elias chipimo the town mouse to insult HH for a few coins of Tax payer’s money

  7. iwe gbm alas great bag of meal meal, its obvious u read the watchdog n those chaps cheekly refused to apologise n insulted u.sue them or send the army n police as u promised.also why not refute the story that ur govt has increased salaries for u n ur fellow ministers by 100%.Those chaps will finish coz surely how do u not know the difference between manchester university n london?

  8. Looked at this uneducated fool from muchinga tribal forest GBM watever you call yourself you found the army and u can not drag it into your pity politics sorry its just a grade seven failure like you who does not know that the army is their to defend the nation not your to ma small fights with your wife or zambianwatchdog.

  9. GBM is bitter!!!!! Yes you are bitter!!! And thats what we call bitterness, and not the bitterness you allege against Hichilema. In the end, even the little support you have is soon waning. You will only remain with your cronies you twits.

  10. GBM do you want Zambians to send congratulatory messages to your son? This is abuse of media, and those who publish such should look into their hearts.

  11. Too many threats from this Government. Why are they threatening free press. If you can’t take the heat, then politics is not for you Bwana GBM. I hope you used your own money to travel to the UK rather than the poor tax payers in Zambia. This government controls more media outlets than any government, this side of multiparty politics. They control the Paste Newspaper, Daily mail, Times of Zambia, ZNBC, Muvi TV and many online outlets. What more do they wan’t. Why can’t they allow us to have just one independent media outlet the Watchdog. These are Dictators proper. Zambia is finished!!!

  12. Is this the guy who said he went to attend his son`s graduation at University of Manchester in London? I guess its only the calibre of Sata who can make this guy a Minister. What a shame to the country!

  13. After seven day he will act like ba Garry Chanda that he was misunderstoond. GBM you are the winner of foolishness in ZWD. You top the charts on people who commented. Drama to continue after seven days, whilst we wait, more popcorns…

  14. At first GBM threatened to send Law enforcement agencies to sort out ZWD and now he threatens to take legal action against watchdog! does this minister really know the difference between courts of law and law enforcement agencies?

  15. is this guy a witch to be threatening the ZWD people of digging their own grave? why did he go into politics. can he tell us us who was acting when he took chikwandato London. Manchester is not in London. Is Ndola or Kitwe in Lusaka?

  16. We remember that in the immdiate past this is the GBM who campaigned for the position of Vice President of the MMD. My foot, would this be the scap of metal or heap of roaler-meal the PF can flag as a Govt Minister? Apparently, most Zambian women get attacted to men wearing smartly-dressed suits and assume they are endowed with wisdom. Practical realities have proved that men and women of integrity are rare – and GBM and Kambimba will never be any of them that thrive on wisdom. Logical events linked to Sata’s overseas trip reveals that there is more volume (cusecs) of water flowing under the bridge that GBM is trying hard to cover-up and conceal from Zambians.

  17. Ba GBM naimwe, ninshi bukopo so. Journalists my freind will bring you down. Just shut your ugly big mouth. Remember you are aminister and te people are just small journalists. Its you to lose big time. Be careful my freind

  18. You can tell from this huge man’s threats that HH’s life is in great danger. Not long ago this same minister of defence referring to HH said in bemba, ‘Ta twa muleke’. Now he is dragging HH into his issue with the Zam Watchdog. We are watching.
This GBM is very dumb and illiterate, he was the first to threaten about the use of security forces to deal with the Zam Watchdog and now he is warning the online publication not to bring the army in the issue. The country urgently needs to be salvaged from this lot.

  19. Who doe not know that the Zambia watch dog always publish lies upon lies? IT even blocks people who offer different views from theirs. They blocked me coz I always tell them the truth. Thats watch dog for you.

  20. Why issue threats all the time? This is failing to reason hence the threats. You have the right to take ZWD to court but threats of closing this or that paper are not acceptable. Manchester University is in Manchester not in London.

  21. Didnt you read the editorial in the Watchdog? They called you names GBM and requested you to take legal action immediately. You need not wait for 7 days. They wont retract anything, not even a comma. Go ahead. Its showdown time.

  22. How many spoke’s persons do we have in this government? There are just too many statements coming from various individuals

  23. Mphangwe good job on your post and kep it up!

GBM are you still beating the hell out of your wife? Is she too ill from your blows that now you are trying to find another target you worthless excuse of a man. You and your children should be ashamed of stealing government money. The same money you are using to pay for your son’s education. If your son is at Manchester University, then he should know that there is zero tolerance when it comes to men putting their hands on a women. Or maybe that is what you teach him as being ok. Let the media do their job and we Zambian’s will deal with you and yours alike. Thank you!
