The ruling Patriotic Front has advised youths in the opposition Movement for Multi party Democracy to drop their plans to demonstrate against the appointment of MMD members OF parliment serving in the PF government.
PF deputy national chairperson Elizabeth Phiri said that the MMD youths are better off dropping their plans because the demonstrating will not take them anywhere.
Mrs. Phiri said that the MMD should instead take the appointment of their MPs as a blessing because the party will never rule again.
Speaking to QFM News, Mrs. Phiri said that President Michael Sata has nothing to lose even if any of the appointed MPs resigns as they will be replaced.
Youths in the opposition MMD are planning to stage a demonstration next week Thursday, against the appointment of their MPs as deputy ministers in the PF government.
Meanwhile, MMD Lumezi Member of Parliament Isaac Banda has said that his decision to resign as Mines, Energy and Water Development deputy minister was purely done in good faith.
Mr. Banda told Qfm news in an exclusive interview that the move was the will of the people of Lumezi Constituency who he consulted.
This is in clear contrast with Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu’s assertions that Mr. Banda succumbed to intimidation and blackmail by the MMD leadership.
Mr. Banda has since pledged to diligently serve the people of Lumezi in delivering development and ensure that their voice is heard.
He said that his decision was merely made in compliance with the part’s directive and further rules out any ill motive.

I like it when people say never. Are people now claiming to know the future. It this mentality that leads to poor decision making and lack of accountability because people think the opposition will never rule. It was the same even under MMD and yet here we are under a PF government. for some like the late president Children declared the HE SATA would only rule under his dead body and it happened because such statement are like daring God because he is the only one that know the future. Let PF work if it wants to be in power for a long time, but not to say that they will never come of power. As Zambians we want to see change in attitude which should start with us as followers or supporters of parties. let our parties work for the good of all zambians
Mwanamfumu if MMD never consulted PF should not follow suite,those MPs are under MMD hence MMD should be made aware before appointing them. If they are suspended by MMD, we will have by-elections which we dont want as at now.. Dont you think appointing opposition MPs will be nuetralising the opposition in parliament?? PF membership has little faith in its own party members to fill positions of governance. Mr Sata uses appointments as a strategy to weaken opposition and the entire PF members are blind to this move and applaud Mr Sata as ‘man of action. In reality Sata says to all PF members, ‘I can do whatever without any PF member to plack courage and question me’. In reality PF members can wallow in the mire Sata can appoint who he wants to, his members can hang dry even if they worked hard for the party. This is what Zambians have never learned to react from their leaders. Others hold constituences as their personal property and change parties at their own will and everyone follows them. This is shaming in today’s Zambian age and politics.
How do you foolish bloggers miss the point kansi? The case here is not being ministers but openly kneeling down campaigning for PF in by elections. Sympathising with PF or merely supporting God Sata is not the offence here. It is refusing to support MMD and openly supporting PF as a party not as government. Why are you deliberately missing the point agalu mweo?
PF has lots of MPs but their leader has realised that they are just a bunch of praise singers who ‘have no brains to run ministries. This together with Sata’s insatiable appetite to weaken the opposition in parley are the driving forces. Sata is selfish and malicious to the core. Nothing good can come out of UKWA.
