President Sata challenge Nevers Mumba to name he emissary sent by State House

Share

President Michael Sata has challenged MMD president Nevers Mumba to substantiate claims that State House sent an emissary to discuss his alleged involvement in some criminal conduct whilst he served as Zambia’s High Commissioner to Canada.

President Sata in a statement released to media by his special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah, said that it is in the interest of Dr Mumba’s personal character and career that he reveals to the nation the emissary he alleges was sent by State House.

“It’s in the interest of Pastor Mumba’s personal character and career that he reveals to the nation the emissary he alleges was sent by State House. Let him name the person he met and on whose authority that individual was acting,” read the statement.

“As far as my office is concerned at no time or period since assuming the presidency have I ever sent anyone to confer with Pastor Mumba or any other person who is alleged to have committed some criminality in their conduct. I therefore, challenge my young brother to name the purported emissary.”

President Sata said that he found Pastor Mumba’s claims fictitious and preposterous.

“Clearly, Pastor Mumba has a very exceptional ability to describe events or incidents that never took place. It’s a very rare quality he possesses in this field I must admit,” the Head of State said.

“However, my advice to him is that as a leader of the so-called largest opposition political party in the country, he must always strive to say the truth because the Zambians are judging him through his utterances and general conduct.”

The President reaffirmed his commitment to the fight against corruption and other abuses associated with this scourge.

“Let’s allow the due process of the law to take its full course and not claim harassment or persecution where there is none. As Head of State, I have all the confidence that the law enforcement agencies involved will handle these matters with utmost professionalism,” President Sata said.

  1. Looks like these non presidential statements from State House that have their origins in one Dickson Jere shall be with us for some time to come. Even the discourse in some of Africa’s most challenging political jurisdictions e.g. Zimbabwe and Kenya never gets to these kindagarden levels. But I guess this is what we have to live with…..

    • Do we really have to live with this level of mediocrity up to the millenium! Peter Cool can you find a social scientist to studyt the true character of Zambian pyschology which keeps us in this place for 50 years. Without researching I would say, its our dismal fear of one another.

  2. Everytime Nevers opens his mouth, it works against him. He surely needs to advisors to help him, but considering his level of pride, he cannot stoop to accept advice.

  3. MR PRESIDENT WE ZAMBIANS KNOW THAT NEVERS IS A LIAR SO PLZ DONT WORRY.MR PRESIDENT CAN YOU BRING MR PAUL RUSSELLES BACK IN ANTI CORRUPTION BECAUSE DURING UNIP DAYS HE HAS WORKED EXCELLENTLY AND THE CORRUPT PEOPLE REALLY FEARED HIM.LAST I HEARD OF MR RUSSELLS THAT HE WAS WORKING FOR THE MALAWIAN GOVT.WE NEED A MUZUNGU IN THE ANTI CORRUPTION DEPARTMENT.

    • whi is an XL Large liar btwn nevers and satan? honest answer is, satana, no wanda u bn qonga’d pa zed bcoz of pipo like u followers of CNP pama fi (pf)

  4. According to Chiluba, Sata failed to construct simple sentences to write minutes of the NEC as national secretary of MMD. It is interesting to see his metamorphosis in written english. A hand of Membe?

  5. The President will be doing himself a very big favour by redeploying Mr. George Chellah. He needs a mature and experienced person in this position not Mr. Chellah. The president’s office is now a rumour mill, you can not have the president responding to unconfirmed and shallow reports in newspapers. Mr. Chellah has diluted the president’s office

  6. #1, I fully agree with you. Kindergarten press statements from plot 1 are unprecedented. Though they started with Dickson, they have now been taken to a whole new level. Chellah should do some refresher courses. “Clearly, Pastor Mumba has a very exceptional ability to describe events or incidents that never took place. It’s a very rare quality he possesses in this field I must admit,” the Head of State said. This is nonsense.

  7. Chelah teach them how english is written. They are always left with open mouths when these crying babes read your english. Really man you are great. Your style of writting brings out facts and not insults as some are known for. Your are great son and keep it up. Shame these so called educated people and yet they are not.

  8. this chella boy is still behaving like he is at the post writting articles for the newspapers.I suggest that the president fires this chap and bring in a matured person who will be able to write these so called letters frm the head of state in a presidential maner

  9. In Zambia people like Chanda Chimba who wish to warn the nation about impending doom are ostracized. What was Chanda Chimba’s mistake. I think his mistake was to be asscoiated with the RB camp. But in many times we have this polar situation where you either are opposition or ruling, and no middle of the line.

  10. Silence is golden!
Can Plot 1 be given the respectability it deserves?!
The President is being distracted by trivialities, Jack and Jill gossip or is it John and Jelita stories.
The nation has a lot of developing to be done, where Plot 1 is supposed to drive the projects and programmes. Citizens have a lot of bread and butter issues to deal with.
Somebody at Plot 1 is not advising the Number 1 citizen properly.
Please can we focus on the Millennium Development Goals (MDG).

  11. Anyone who saw the president writing a condolence message to the Ghanian pipo? U saw how he took tym to finish sentences? Can this article be written by him, sure? Ok he has a press aide aini? Chellah writes most of thez stories in the manner he feels is rite to appease his master, so some distortion of facts is a must wen delegated to that chap, so pompous has that boy become. Nway ni tym yabo!

  12. Chella issuing completely irrelevant statements we are interested in important developmental issues, State House is very swift in responding to pointless statements…when is Sata going to relies that he is not in Opposition any more; why don’t respond to the 100% payrise you awarded yourselves for starters…OR even better call for a press conference…

  13. Those of you attacking young Chellah. Can you furnish us with facts of your so-called childish or none presidential statements. Just admit that the young man is a brilliant writer and he reads a lot, as reflected in his statements. His command of the English language is simply exceptional. Stop ma jealous…not even in Dickson Jere’s time did we see such concise and to the point statements. This boy is headed for greatness, mark my words. In fact, he is a gifted tactician and strategist, if you have a brain you will spot that in his language and write-ups. You thought he will be a failure but its almost a year now and he is still hanging on to that prestigious job. The young man has proved his critics wrong. Keep it Boy.

    • E.g. Chellah responded to a rumour published in The Post (Mortem) that RB wanted HH to lead a UPND/MMD pact in order to end Bemba rule. The story was totally ridiculous and I was astounded when Chellah took it upon himself to respond in quite strong language – does not matter which newspaper it was published in.

  14. What Chellah is doing is what press-aides world over do? Only the other say, HH was crying on UNZA Radio that ‘this boy is a civil servant he shouldn’t have dressed down Nevers Mumba like that after he stormed State House.’ Clearly, the boy has outsmarted them all hence the cry. You will rave and whin…that ‘he is childish, immature etc’ but the bottomline is, he is appointed by Sata so who are you to say otherwise? If Sata is happy then that’s it! Chellah is the man, no wonder M’membe cried when he left The Post. He is a genius in his own right, just watch the space.

  15. Mr. Editor, You have been weighed at caught hands down. I sent a very mature and factual comment in support of Chellah. It was uploaded and removed within seconds. Ba Editor, you have an agenda, just like Watchdog so dont think you can fool everybody. I just wanted to confirm what everybody has been complaining about. Thanks anyway, at least we are slowly knowning you for who you are. Dont even pretend to keep this posting on the wall because you have removed my initial progressive ones.

  16. THE GUILTY ARE ALWAYS AFRAID. BA NEVERS MUMBA DO NOT PRE-EMPTY THE DUE COURSE OF JUSTICE. YOU WANT THE LAW NOT TO VISIT YOU. IT WILL.ALREADY THE AUDITOR’S REPORT OF CANADA SHOW SOME WRONG DOING BY THE AUTHORITY THAT MANNED THAT EMBASSY DURING THE SAID PERIOD.

  17. That’s UKWA for you, always showing his prowess on trivial issues. He has no clue on how to govern but just little politicking. We deserve better.

  18. #1 unfortunately I have to agree with you. And honestly instead of addressing issues like minimum wage, justification of his 100% salary, constitution making process, he decides to pick on some trivial that none of the Zambians heard Dr Mumba say and honestly didn’t even care about  who State house sent or what. This is so low. Can we have some decency in the quality of press release from State House.

How is the naming of somebody by Dr Mumba going to fix problems in the country, do we have a presidential by elections next month?  Why is State House sounding like they are on a campaign trail.

Please somebody remind them that election are in 2016, and let them get to work.

We are really tired of this low life mwe.

  19. do u think Dr. Mumba CAN JUST DREAM THAT SOMEONE WENT to ask to reconcile with UKWAlets wiat and see who is liar UKWA as usual or Dr. Mumba but I know clean on this one he embarrass UKWA again. Even the letter from ACC Director to UKWA on Dr. Mumba’s PURPORTED ABUSE OF OFFICE IS EXPOSING the Director to be PF cadre how can she say now that she suspect crime when she was suppose to write to her boss UKWA to tell him there is a case because they been investigating this case for long time now, but it seems she is still fishing in dry pond just because she want to appease UKWA this is not fair to justice delivery in the country

  20. If you asked the Zambian people to name the liar between Nevers an Sata they will surely point at Sata, considering the many lies he has told them.

  21. Nevers Mumba and Hakainde have been confused with the amount of development the PF govt is doing and they are shocked that people of Zambia are appreciating that. Now their demons are telling them what to say, as for Hakainde, he is in an extensive political COMA. People are that our Kwacha is challenging the dollar, the minimum wage as well has been received with gratitude among the people that were wagelly enslaved for decades. So don’t warry Mr President its the demons at work.

  22. Ukwa is too scared of Mumba, they boy is giving him sleepless nights. Ukwa my presido you did that to Levy and Alaabeee thats why we voted for you.You have now become insecure because of your non performance. Come 2016 you have yourself to blame.Forget about the boy and give us more money in our pockets.

  23. For God`s ,Ukwa should concetrate on fulfiling the numerous wild promises he made to his blinders voters.Time is ticking, else wil be the worst president in history.I pitty this Cobra.

  24. These responses from so-called State House show that Dr Mumba is giving them sleepless nights….  Nevers go for these rats. We need to chase them out of the maize field

  25. Dont forget Mr President that we Zambians are also judging you by what you say or said in the past its a two edged sword. Do unto others what you would like them to do to you. Remember the arms at some farm in Chipata we have not forgotten.

  26. Bo Nyambe @ No.15, I have to doubt your intellectual abilities if George Chellah’s writing holds you in awe! If Sata knows what is good for him, he should fire this chap and replace him with someone who will be able to project State House in a positive manner, not the drivel spouting from Chella’s mouth. Honestly, he is an embarassment to the institution. And to imagine that there are people here who are actually impressed with his construction of English! Truly amazing.

  27. Niye kuti imwe ba L Times you have read the mishmarsh of words you have thrown at us in your headline? A headline cant be this confusing when it passes through so many eyes or doesn’t it? Mulibe ba sub-editor?

  28. You can talk rubbish about my President, you can even call him names and be little him, but one thing you should not forget is that you subtract nothing from him. He is appointed by the Almighty God to rule Zambia, and God alone will enable him and ensure him to complete the task He has given him. And one thing you will not subtract from me is he will always remain my dear beloved President. Respect him or not he is the President of the Republic of Zambia.

  29. In the statement by George Chellah, wherever it says “Dr Nevers Mumba”, replace with “Dr Michael Sata” and the statement remains as true and correct as it was intended.

  30. Hi There. I found your weblog the actual in the search engines. A great report. I am going to ensure that you take a note of the idea as well as go back to learn more of your tips. Appreciate the actual submit. I willcertainly come back.

  31. Its not just about Chellah’s ‘fanning’ about with the English language. Its the incessant statements in response to any insignificant or perceived attack on the President. Aren’t there more pressing socio-economic issues to respond to? Secondly, shouldn’t we actually listen to Sata himself talking? A lot of Presidents do write some things for themselves and do appear live to address real issues. How many times has Sata done that? Always hiding behind his boy Chellah. Come out and spell out your plan for Zambia!

  32. when I bobed in your page~~~ I found your blog is so wonderful you write the beautiful words with a pictuer~~ both the image and is vivid~~~easy to understand~~`keeping up~!!!

  33. White cloud never promise the sky where and when she will go, but she will be accompanied by your side morning and evening. Star never promise the night to bring him a light, but he is hard to twinkle; The Scenery never says to eye to be forever, but always been beautiful;

  34. Great list! People should keep blog posts short and sweet. I have been giving out short and direct to the point posts and it??s more readable to customers than posting a too-detailed post.
