Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has advised the PF government to use the divergent views of different stakeholders including political players to weigh their performance in governance issues.

TIZ president Reuben Lifuka said the PF government should understand that Zambia is a multiparty State where people are free to express their views on governance issues.

Mr. Lifuka said signs of intolerance being exhibited by the PF as a party in government are not healthy for the growth of democracy.

He stated that it is important for the PF to begin listening and analyzing the criticism irrespective of who speaks.

Mr. Lifuka was speaking to QFM News in an interview.

  1. After being told by Fred Mmembe that you should be talking here and there to show you are not eating with us without hurting the finger.

  2. So this man his around .pleas continue where you left from.to be honest you have take too long but all the same welcome back.this pama fi gvmnet do not care they think they will be there forever.it is difficult to advise them .please tell them advising them does not mean we are bitter.we all want a better zambia

  3. Hahahaha, it seems the guards were part of the criminals. If the guard is part and parcel of the plundering machinery, who will guard the guard? This statement was long over due BUT because th guards are with the looters, they will nver be direct! Go zambia Go!

  4. Is TIZ back? Have the Lungus and Lifukas finally started to listen to all those people who were saying TIZ has become a lapdog for the likes of M.membe, Nchito and the PF? Well wonders never cease!

  5. civial society need to regroup and provide effective non partisan checks and balances and hope this governemnt can listen coz they seem to take critism form the oppossition as bitterness…..?

  6. When others(oppostion) say the government is intolerance, some government officials (ministers) say “you are just bitter” why so much double standards in zambian politics? TIZ is right.

  7. I am very disappoint with the civil society and the so called opposition in Zambia today.PF is making a lot of mistakes in our beloved country,no one seem to point out and be able to protect this country.Breaking the law of the land is not checks and balances neither is it divergent views.UPND should tell us how they will solve the street vending in our towns in Zambia and other social and economical problems we are facing today.

  8. Every democratic country has freedoms and liberties, but they have limits. Alarming the nation is not part of freedom of speech, it is breaking the law.’ Checks and balances’ has become the most used phrase in Zambia to hide their intention to break the law to achieve popularity which has eluded them. The opposition should give us alternative development plans which they should use as a campaign tool and explain them to Zambians, not this pointing of fingers without any alternative plans to compare to.

  9. Be objective people. The man is talking some sense and instead of commending or simply trying to use it for leverage, you are insulting him. Such barbaric and primitive behavior! Think beyond what you can see or hear – we need people to move and develop this country regardless of who they are or who they have been.

  10. TIZ is slowly opening eyes.
But why close your eyes for so long Mr Lifuka?
Dont put personal hatred infornt of issue because that has capacity to incapacitate your eyes.
There was no need for you to hate MMD so much that you looked at PF as your newly found angels, whom you are now slowly geting ashamed with just like the Catholic community are ashamed of their own making. They help PF ascend to power, and so they are mutually responsible for what we are seing today.

  11. @16 Kalafutuka and @18 MK.

You guys seem to see things through the veil your master has clothed you in. Your listening has been selective and biased.

UPND has not been talking from without. They have a clear manifesto which outlines its vision. They have said so much but people like you chose or still choose to listen to 90 days promises as solutions. If you care to examine everything UPND has said in the last 5 years (only) you will find solutions aplenty.

Just remove that veil your indoctrinator has wrapped you in and see the real picture.

When He says – Tribalism – You also parrot – Tribalism
When he says – Bitterness – you also parrot – Bitterness
When he says – Lawlessness you also parrot – Lawlessness

    Learn to think for yourselves.
