Uganda Dismiss Bad Pitch Claim By Faz

Share

The Uganda Football Federation has dismissed Zambia’s complaint about the state of Namboole Stadium pitch in Kampala.
Faz has lodged a complaint with CAF about the state of the pitch at the venue for the 13 October Africa Cup qualifier between Zambia and Uganda.

Faz has written to Caf stating that Namboole Stadium is not in good condition.

But Uganda Football Federation’s technical director Asuman Lubowa told BBC Sport that Namboole is one of the best stadia in Africa.

“This stadium has hosted big games before and Caf is very aware that this stadium is good,” said Lubowa.

He added that Uganda are not even thinking of an alternative venue since Namboole is Caf-approved.

Zambia beat Uganda 1-0 in the first leg two weeks ago in Ndola.

  1. KUWAYAWAYA FYE BA ZED….MWAKUULA KA LEVY STADIUM MWA AMBA ICINTINYA…NAMBOOLE IS BETTER THAN KONKOLA, NCHANGA,INDEPENDENCE AND ARTHUR DAVIES STADIUMS…KU IPOMPAFYE PA 13TH/10..

  2. Mr. Lubowa, Namboole stadium is one of the best stadia in africa, i agree with you. But you neglected the picth. Look at the picture of September 9, 2012. Guys do not just comment anyhow.Google Namboole and see for yourself and get to what the zambian officials meant. Nambole is in poor state.

  3. we are talking about the playing surface here and not the structure.konkola, arthur davies, nkoloma all have better turfs than this namboole stadium

  4. The pitch is actually terrible. Visiting teams have previously complained. Perhaps Zambia should camp there for 2 weeks to get used to the soggy conditions

  5. It iz wishfull thinking for FAZ to think CAF can do anything about this lame excuze, valid though it may be. In short we are explaining our reazonz for defeat even before kicking the ball!

  6. CAF how long does it take to inspect the same stadium.Iwe Ka Eric Mwanza can you demand a report from CAF over the same don’t just sit with your wide open mouth without getting anything from CAF.Be rest assured that we will travel to Uganda and should we find a bad pitch be ready to cut your mouth wider than it is. Pantu you just sit in that office doing nothing and where is the three points yaku Sudan. What type of administrators are you who just wait for money.

  7. Zambia forget the 3 – points from Sudan and this complaint of Namboole stdm should NOT arise. Senegal beat us in Konkola Stadium 1 – 0 even when they complained about the poor playing surface. let us train from the bumpy Maamba stadium and beagt the birds, the cranes agt their own hjome ground. their un beaten record to be over.

  8. just a view of a few misguided FAZ hotheads no zambian is overly concerned with the state of the pitch in uganda and worse still for the cranes is that marjority of zambian players grew up playing football in rough and dusty pitches so if anything that pitch will just make them feel at home like they felt in ndola and so we know what they will do to the poor cranes in front of their supporters something kenya failed to do.shatter the unbeaten run .and continue the defence of the cup which will started in ndola..let them talk we will talk on their bad pitch.we are used to teams planning to beat us. Equatorial guinea during the 2012 africa cup said zambia was the weakest team in the group and were the weeping boys..so keep up the vibe crane followers but soon they will be flightless cranes

  9. Zambia, sorry that you will have no chance defending the tittle this time round.Cranes is very very and extremely dangerous at home. you should be very very scared !

  10. It is sheer madness for some one to claim that Namboole stadium is in bad state.Better teams (Nigeria,Ghana,South Africa,Angolla Senegal etc)and former African champions have ever played there without any complaint. Is it because you are champions for once that you want to claim to be a super team which cannot play on a bad surface ?

  11. @ Mulundu Kampala; There is no team better than Zambia among those you have listed. Ask Ghana to tell you. We are coming to pound you at your home my brother. After the match, we are all good Africans. “One Uganda, one Africa”, “One Zambia, one Africa”. Stay blessed.

  12. It’s sickening to hear an African side complain about the playing surface. All the 22 men likely to start the game have probably spent most of there soccer careers playing on such pitches

  13. iam sori for the lame excuses u zambians are giving.just ccome to kla and receive ur whiping.ask congo brazaville who led 3-1 and conceeded 4 goals in namboole
