The Anti Corruption Commission says it will investigate the two cabinet ministers facing corruption allegations with impartiality.
ACC Director General Rosewin Wandi Minister says the commission will carry out the investigations against Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba in a professional manner.
Ms. Wandi has told ZNBC News that the public should have confidence in the ACC as the investigations were initiated by the commission.
She assured members of the public that there is no pressure from the ministers being investigated or government.
Meanwhile, the Law Association of Zambia -LAZ- says that there is no law that compels a serving public officer to resign when being investigated.
LAZ Vice President Martin Musaluke says a public officer under investigation can only resign on moral grounds.
Mr. Musaluke has also called on the Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate the two ministers without bias.
Last week, the Anti corruption commission disclosed that preliminary investigations are under way against Mr. Mwamba and Mr Kabimba for alleged corrupt practices.
ZNBC

ACC you are in trouble or else come up with cocreate investigations, if not kabimba wil instead investigate you on weya u got the information from.
May your happiness increase like Petrol Price,
May your sorrow fall like Zambian Kwacha, and
May your joy fill your heart like corruption in Zambia …!!!
To pave way for unbiased investigation it is morally right that the person(s) being investigated are out of office by way of being suspended, fired or resigning on moral grounds.Wandi should not hoodwink Zambians that she will be impartial.LAZ is loopsided and not advising properly.Fine, there is no law that compels someone to resign, but that person(s) being investigated should not be in office as investigations are going on.
We need professionalism ,those goons should face the law just like Dora and Liato. It’s to early for Winter and Godfrey to involve in corruption, you know it took almost ten years for Liato to do that and eventual to plant money in his farm.
True dat!!! LOL!!
we need those corrupt elements to be convicted..its wide and clear ..
but it is the same LAZ that became to vocal on a number of allegations which were leveled against MMD and other govt officials . why are the morals degenerating so fast.
the reason for stepping down is a moral responsibility especially if you know that you are clean.
when is LAZ going to be disbanded ?
Who is your boy friend?
Before I comment need to know who Wandi’s boy friend is. This will gives us the basis for understanding what is at play in this case. In any normal organisation were there are serious allegations of wrong doing, the suspects are suspended to pave way for unbaised investigations.
Simply put in plain language THERE ARE NO INVESTIGATIONS. PERIOD.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s how investigations end. This thing will only come out during campaign 2016
Ati “impartiality and professional manner”, ni wenye chabe, there will be no investigations, this is the end of the story!!!!!
Yeah, right!
Where is Liato?
Where is Dora Siliti?
Where is James and his Brother?
Where is Maxwell Mwale?
Where is General Kanene?
Where is Kalonga Kanono?
Where is Xavier Chungu?
Katele Kalumba, Rupiah, Shansonga, Regina Chiluba, Tandiwe etc etc etc?????
They are all free, this is an act in futility!
Does the ACC have power to prosecute without DPP consent? If the answer is negative, there is no point in all this hot air!!!
Follow up tenders at defense which gbm has been giving and also follow sekani at home affairs see how he give permits and citizenship if you are serious
All these commissions are just a farce when facing the executive. As long as they are appointed by the executive, there is no way they can be independent and hence effective against the executive.
waste of National time and resources if you ask me,go and enjoy tea and biscuits in the two ministers offices kwasila
The ACC approach is simple, systematic and consistent.
Government politicians are NOT guilty until proven otherwise.
Oppostion politicians ARE guilty until proven otherwise.
I miss the LAZ we had in the past!
It is sad reading to hear stories of this high level corruption and just see nothing happening. It is deep shame on us as a nation. We no longer have the LAZ of yester – years, we do not have the media as vibrant as we used to have, the Catholic Priests and their Church are QUIET!!!! I mean QUIET 100% as if all the poverty, the rooting, thieving and all kind of mischief are over. Sad indeed, but time for reckoning is NEAR!
I personally I do not see any corruption in GBM. Firstly, the tender committee at ZESCO has not yet even awarded the contract to GBM’s Coy
I hope the media follows up on these investigation and give us updates soon. These people are used to saying things to media and then never act on it because the public wont ask nor know what transpired after a certain period of time
Wandi….. Wandi the watchdog plant a person near her home to see who is the BOYFRIEND who sleeps there. I thought she was married. So she is being Bonked….Bonked.
U started this story ZWD give us the juicy details.
the president suspended the judges for perceived wrong doing, why cant he do the same?
Now showing on the Zambian Comedy Scene for free: “Ali Bemba and his band of Forty Thieves”.
ACC director we all know why you have delayed the investigations, and thus why Kabimba was rested when you just won the elections. He wanted all his friends in so that when he comes in,everyonne will give him a merit.Arrest both, not just ………..
