Kabwe Warriors have sold their influential Zambia midfielder Rodreck Kabwe to Zanaco.

The talented 22-year-old moves to the 2012 Faz Super Division champion for an undisclosed fee.

Kabwe moves to Zanaco together with club mate and midfielder Richard Kasonde who also arrives at Sunset Stadium on a permanent deal.

The deal will see five Zanaco players move in the opposite direction to Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium.

They will include midfielder Ignatius Lwipa who has been on the sidelines at Sunset for the last two seasons.

Meanwhile, promoted Warriors welcome back promising midfielder Misheck Chaila who is expected to step into the role Kabwe has left.

Chaila has been on a 12-month loan deal at Konkola Blades in 2012.

Warriors have just made a quick return to the Super Division this season following their demotion in 2011.

Meanwhile, Veteran defender Laughter Chilembe says he is pondering his next move following the expiry of his contract at demoted side National Assembly.

Chilembe, a former Zambia right back, said he is yet to decide whether to remain at the Lusaka outfit after his one year contract at Assembly expired on December 31.

“I will decide the way forward soon. Right now I can’t say I am leaving Assembly because we are yet to discuss although my contract has expired,” Chilembe told LT Sports in Kitwe.

“But I have not retired, when I do that I will tell the nation.”

Prior to joining Assembly, the former Nchanga Rangers player was clubless in the 2011 season after leaving Power Dynamos at the end of the 2010 campaign.

  1. Roderick Kabwe is a very talented young man. He is one of the best midfielders we have in Zambia. I like his soft-touched left foot skills. And he is a leader, a real sportsman. At 20, he was already skipper for Worriors. I remember the last game they played against Nchanga Rangers at Nchanga stadium in 2010. Apparently, that was the last game before they were demoted. Even though they were losing, I liked the way he handled a misunderstanding between his players and those for Nchanga Rangers. He’s the future Captain for Zambia!!!

  2. Rodrick aka Ronaldihno is undoubtedly one of the best players in the Zed league at the moment. Zanaco have made a wise move and he will not dissapoint. Good luck Dihno.

  3. I hope and pray that this young man realises his true potential. The Africa club Championship is good exposure for the talented boy more so if Zanaco goes far in the competition. Good luck Rodrick!
