Herve Renard insists goals will come for Zambia at the 2013 Africa Cup when the tournament kicks off on January 19 after witnessing his side yet again fire blanks against Norway.
Norway and Zambia drew 0-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola in Renard’s sides’ final warm-up game before heading to the 2013 Africa Cup on Sunday.
“We played a very organized nation of Norway with a lot of discipline on the pitch and every time we tried to score they gave us a problem,” Renard said.
“It is not easy when you change about six players to give the players a chance to play the necessarily time they need.
“I anticipate that is why are we not scoring and I am saying we are keeping the goals for the pitch (Africa Cup).”
Meanwhile, the only major highlights in the game came with the introduction of Collins Mbesuma and Mukuka Mulenga in the 46th and 67th minutes respectively.
Mbesuma replaced a poor Emmanuel Mayuka who failed to show any form of being the 2012 Africa Cup golden boot winner on three goals.
Mukuka on the other hand dazzled with another fantastic display to compliment Chisamba Lungu who had carried the burden of the team in the opening 45 minutes.
Mukuka almost capped his brilliant show with goal in the 85th minute but fluffed his effort inside the box after benefitting from some good work from Mbesuma and Kalaba.
Zambia have now not scored a single goal in their last four games since Evans Kangwa scored a consolation goal in Chipolopolo’s 2-1 away loss to Saudi Arabia on December 5.
Same old excuses from this coach and the empty suits at FAZ couldn’t fill the Stadium what a waste of my 90 mins watching the game.
He is a sangwapo division three french league coach and he is the one we have taken as ZAMBIA NATIONAL TEAM coach
There is absolutely special about this guy. He is a lamentable failure in football circles.
Why don’t you go and play and show us wht you can.
It was a good game. Modern bola is now won by few goals. Zambia is ready to defend the Afcon and bring it back to FAZ House.
Chipolopolo has really improved. I enjoyed the game and it is clear that we are ready for AFCON. We have got a good reservoir of Players. Lets go Zambia
Preparations for the Chipolopolo have been different from the last one and reason is simple. The then MMD and RB had passion for football and the team was highly motivated. I will not be amazed if the team is back early from South Africa AFCON.
You are an ***** with your RB. Who brought the Africa Cup to Zambia? Is it your RB or Our President Sata? *****.
liar ! its not about politics but football . zambia ll still go far in the coming tournament wait and see .
YOU AND YOUR FINISHED PARTY HOPELESS MAN
I personally think we did well, I believe in our manager and his coaching staff, we’ll score goals… Very impressed with the young lad Mukuka Mulenga, well done boys and good luck and God bless for the AFCON, we’ll be supporting you all the way, wherevever we are in the world…..
VIVA Chipolopolo One Zambia One Nation..
YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS IN A POSITIVE GODLY WAY THANKS MAN ZAMBIA WILL DO IT AGAIN SO THAT GOD’S NAME IS GLORIFIED
It is true the boys played well although they could not score. My advice to the Coach is that, tell the boys to aggressively attack and not always playing in their own areas. Let them attack and must be quick on the ball. Please coach, implement this advice.
Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.
How can Zambia be your mother, she so abused, learn to understand the meaning of “mother”.
THE TEAM IS WORKING SO HARD AND GOD KNOWS THAT, THATS WHY HE IS KEEPING GOALS FOR THEM WHEN THEY START YOU SHALL SEE THEM COMING WITH FIRE IN THE NAME OF JESUS GO ZAMBIA TRUST IN THE LORD
renard and his blind loyalty will cost us at the championship. i don’t understand him when he says changed about 6 players but i see same strikers who cannot score. playing well is one thing but winning games need scoring goals. jonas has trained longer with team than mayuka. its not a secret that mayuka has no game time for while now at southampton so he is obviously going to be sloppy. so why not give jonas chance to play.i don’t blame given singuluma or clifford mulenga for losing their patience. Jacob mulenga and others are now confortable because they think its their right to be in first line. i followed him during 2010 world cup qualifier and he never impressed and thats why we were kicked by algeria and egypt and it was francis kasonde who scored only goal registered. sharp…
Stay outside you piece of nonsense.
Good observation. Renard should stop playing names. Mayuka has lost form hence should only come in as a substitute. Make most use of young Mukuka. With a combination of this young fellow,Kalaba and issac Chansa we shall have something to smile about. The Captain is equally a compliment
*****
YOU ARE ALSO HOPELESS WITH YOUR WORDS YOU DONT UNDERSTAND FOOTBALL
let thoz who want to say bad thinz about chipolopolo say after all thats wat they did last year we ar wining again GO ZAMBIA GO we are the best.
Chisamba, 12/10. he is simply the best and he just forced to buy ticket to go and watch for myself in Nelspriut.
Mayuka 9/10. was very good, dangerman, he should keep his hair-cut
Mukuka- 10/10. a big threat to Kalaba for brilliance, the boy should be at Arsenal
Mbola,9/10. is back with excellency
Nathan,9/10. what a gentleman
Mbesuma. 11/10, my first time to watch him play. He is a wonder striker, why don’t you praise him you Zambian?
Renard & assistant Chintu. 9/10 for being so courageous by substituting my friend Chirs. Next time he should substitute Mweene too, he is too emotional sometimes, that was unneccessary in that Norway match.
Zambia will never surpass that best play agaist Norway.
Interesting that you give them 9/10 in a friendly and they didn’t score with all that possession and hits on target I can only imagine what you would give them if they scored.
Is that team really from Norway? I doubt because how can such a developed Nation like Norway travel to poor, disorganised, corrupt zambia, what can they learn from Zambia? just to come and contact malaria and cholera? Its amazing,,,, Not the Norway i know
Zambia has as much malaria and cholera as your week-long, unwashed pillow. Such is the degree of risk there is. Perhaps, it worth visiting Zambia… after all many people from that country visit Zambia each year and some live there.
My brother there first priority is to come and see the mighty Victoria falls. After the game they are busy game viewing and sampling some zambian art and prostitutes. Masebo should consider legalising prostitution in Livingstone alone. It can be a great source of income for the government as long as they are heavly taxed and only be within reach of foreign tourists only
Your’re jus a pratt and a good for nothing arm chair critic. Tiyeni uko mambala ndiwe bululu wa spoiler kapenda? Kaya nikuti kwe unkala manje wayamba ku twanga mabmbala iwe
very good game. Zambia played well, last thing you want is injuries whilst chasing for goals. Just wished the stadium was filled up to capacity by either offering cheap or free tickets to schools and the venerable. Otherwise well played and hope Mbesuma will be the wild card this time round.
Ba j sims
What you always forget is that last time around we were mere “underdogs” no one saw us coming at AFCON 2011 and now we are the champions the team everyone wants to beat…big difference…this is the selfsame reason we lag behind development as we don’t entertain constructive criticism always liking hero worshipping and blind praises. There is nothing to cheer about that game we missed a great opportunity to win against a team ranked 24th…only if those empty suits at Football House organised more competitive friendlies against better more organised disciplined defences like Norway. I wonder what your Great King Kalu we say on his personal FAZ website…
Wake up!!
I watched the game and I think I was impressed with what I saw. Yes we might not have scored goals but the players are good and confident and I think we shall have good tournament, I particular like the urgency I saw in the final minutes and I hope we keep that urgency through out the game, the we shall be handful to any team
YOU ARE MY MAN, WE HAVE THE STRONGEST TEAM AT THE AFCON GO ZAMBIA FINAL IS FOR US
It’s very clear to us who follow our chipolopolo that now the coach has come up with a team he wants,in the games before it was just wise that he uses as many other players as possible so as to assemble the best. In some cases he even used only locally assembled ones to identify players like MULENGA mukuka. As for those calling for Clifford,do they know that even at his club, he’s all the time on bench?
Awe ba Renard The team can’t score I have never seen a Zambian team that failed to score in four consecutive games. I.e. 360 minutes! Actually they have only scored 2 goals the whole year! The team cant score The team cant score The team cant score The team cant score The team cant score The team cant score The team cant score The team cant scoreThe team cant score The team cant score The team cant score The team cant score
Ubu tutu
AS FOOLISH AS YOU THINK YOU CANT EVEN FEED YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE THINGS YOU ARE A WASTE
Thats the team that won the cup by the way, even before the tornerment in Gabon , they could not score, just wait till the tornment starts
Wow! what a game. Guys you have managed to restore my confidence. South Africa here we come.
Why is it that there are no heads of countries visiting Zambia since CNP ascended to power except dictator Mugabe. I need explanations please. Any sensible person?
Dont wory about thoz scrombojanks that continue fliping there mouths anyhow.we the best and remain the great team.
Well well without goals you rob spectators of an esssential part of the game. But the state of the pitch in a brand new stadium was worrying. How come the turf was in patches of brown in the middle of Zambia’s rainy season? What will happen in July? Doesn’t the stadium employ a resident horticulturalist? When ZCCM owned Shinde, Scrivener, Arthur Davies Gabittas etc the turf was a rich green that was a pleasure to play on-since iam a footballer.
Give that pitch to an English groundsman and it will be one of the best pitches in southern Africa!
Upgrade your TV mudala!
Ha ha ha ha ha! I love that advice: Upgrade your TV mudala! In fact all those with me in this sportsbar are in stitches.m
@Raw Jik, do you know how to adjust color on your computer? Better throw away that desktop, get a good Toshiba laptop, get wireless high-speed internet connection and you be able to see how beautiful Levy stadium is.
I am sorry you couldn’t even recognize any of the players.. Did you notice Mayuka has a new hair-cut, he looks like a Ninja!!
Ai Nizoona there were 2 matche same time. Each time you switchd to the english league game the grass was a deep green. When u went to Ndola it was brown signalling Africa eee!
Up the tractor boys, Norwich groundsman you must be as drunk as your chairwoman, lets be avin you.lol
well played but the no goal situ is worrying.
THINK POSITIVE GOALS COME FROM GOD THAT WHY SATAN USES SAME OF YOU PEOPLE COZ YOU DONT THINK

THINK POSITIVE GOALS COME FROM GOD THAT WHY SATAN USES SAME OF YOU PEOPLE COZ YOU DONT THINK
I was born and grew up near Gabitas stadium. And at a later stage i bcm a futballer 4 a short spell.During all this tym and todate i’ve heard soccer pundits, bookmakers ,soccer analyst u cld name them predicting matches but only 2 b proved wrong at the end of 90min.Prior 2 the world cup in mexico in 1986 if not mistaken, Columbia won all its friendly matches but failed 2 impress and were booted out at group stage at the world cup.zambia were underdogs, so they said, but they defailed the odds and coquered africa at estadio de bata in Gabon.Only 90min will tell.
Well said
debbie short, how does someone hunt for personal blogs that suited the things i choose to check out? Really does someone discover how to Flick through personal blogs by means of area or perhaps regardless of what upon digg?
Let’s hope the goals come soon.
DONT WORRY YOURSELF ABOUT GOALS AS LONG AS YOUR NOT GOD STOP WORRYING COZ IF YOU DO THE DEVIL SHALL USE YOU THINK
Zambians are used to the past of wininning 5,4 or 3 nil that never brought us any thing, it is important to win when it matters and that is what our coach is good at. If one goal is enough to qualify the team then one goal is all you need to score, why score 100 goals in a match that wins you nothing?
