Government pondering on registering late President Frederick Chiluba’s landmark London judgment which found the former head of state quilty of looting national coffers.

Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba has told Parliament that it has taken government too long to register the judgment because of the demise of Dr. Chiluba.

In response to a question raised by UPND Kabompo West Member of Parliament, Ambrose Lufuma who wanted to know whether the Government had any plans of enforcing the London High Court judgment involving Dr. Chiluba and others.

He restated that the Patriotic Front is too allergic to corruption hence the reason to pursue the matter in the coming months. He has, however, said that the process will be time consuming because several stakeholders will have to be consulted.

Mr Kabimba said Government was still reviewing the matter and would inform the House at an appropriate time.

“The issue of the London judgment is a matter of great importance and we agree with the apprehension on this issue, we are actively pursuing it and we will not speculate on the timeframe,” Mr Kabimba said.

Others accused in the matter, were Xavier Chungu, Stella Chibanda,Attan Shansonga, Aaron Chungu, Faustin Kabwe, Ireen Kabwe and Francis Kaunda, who were accused of embezzling US$46million.

  1. Tell us something else. Havent we heard of this before? It is like someone telling you the results of the Africa Cup when you watched all the games yourself. Isnt this stale news? When will this ever come to an end? Cmon Kabimba tell us something new.

    • the funny thing is before FTJ fled the PF to Join the RB camp, Sata said he would free FTJ from all this. RB freed FTJ and the PF cried foul. Politics are a pure mess

  2. London case,RB,Nevers,HH are all cases engineered by Fred to sort out his perceived enemies, this is why there have failed.Winter with his Sata should concentrate on the economy for now.4 years will make this administration look like FTJ,Levy,RB look more wiser than our Micheal.

  3. Let FJT rest in peace. The supreme court of zambia has rejected registration of such judgements before and which law are you going to use now. Chiluba was in zambia but you decided to have him tried in london becuase you wanted a judgement that could be enforced in london and europe as whole. You convinced levy that chiluba had so much asserts in europe and hence the need to have him tried thier becuase you knew a zambian judgement could not be enforced in europe and the opposite is also true. You have the judgement now, go to europe and grab whatever chiluba had there.

People pushing for registration of the London judgement are merely trying to justify their own plunder through the task force. Your time will come to answer questions also. Never ever imagin that you are off hook

  4. He really takes Zambians for fools, he is running away from questions about his OIL corruption and says he is allergic to corruption. He would have died a long time if he was.

  5. This place is tiresome. Iwe MP don’t you have better things to ask about? why are you taking us round in circles? surely what has the London judgement got to improve your life or mine?

  6. imwe BAKOLWA BA PF concentrate of developmental issues rather prentending to be clean when you are already stinking maggots of corruption! what are you talking about iwe KABIMBA? Just tell COBRA to fulfill what you promised people. Busy Busy muma newspaper, this is utter Rubbish. You are the worst government Zambia has ever had. Rubbish and nonesense.

  7. Mr New Red Lips aisa! Muka kumana nombaline na Chiluba. In yo consultation find out if u will exhume ftj and jail. His grave shud b turning. I understand Chiluba believed that if Sata takes over, chawama no ku fwa! Red Lips go back to ACC and face the charge of failing to report corruption

  8. At this moment I would rather hear from our blogger, the one and only Mushota. That is how baadi it is Mr. Minister. Where is Mushota to grace us? This judgement is expired-passed its due date of sell. I am on my knees begging, tell us something new for example how far the Link 8000 has gone, the universities that are in the pipeline, the UTH oxygen issue, how the police are dealing with so many murders especially of taxi drivers (proactive measures) and many other important developmental issues. Please pity us and keep us updated on other matters other than the late Chiluba’s failed judgement.

  9. This Kabompo west UPND MP is too dull to ask this stupid question, Chiluba is died and our own Zambian courts failed us as zambians on his case, they had enough evidence such that even his immunity was removed but of course corrupt courts and judges did nothing about chiluba and friends case. Besides some corrupt people like Xavier Chungu even left the country for fear of been prosecuted only came back after another corrupt president RB came in power. Chiluba case annoys alot of Zambians so please Kabimba dont even bother wasting our time answering this question from this MP because we all know by now that this case is a non starter, case closed period. Give us other news.

  10. iye mayo!can they please focus those efforts with dealing with pending crruption cases we have now..started with his own case..london judgement for what?for who?

  11. PF and its failed governance. Serpent Cobra Ukwa Sata stole and he wants to play the black Moses. Wynter is a failed dog and Chungu must be smiling.

  12. CONDEMN YO UPND MP FOR THAT USELESS QUESTION. KABIMBA U SHOULD NOT HAVE WORSTED YO TIME TO ANSWER IT. C HOW THE DEMONS ARE HAVING THEIR FIELD DAY.

  13. this imbecile always day dream. what will the London judgement achieve when the accused persons are either dead or bankrupt? i have been on the sidelines because i have been accused of insulting these PF thugs. but am forced to comment when i see how ARVs have turned some people in this government to scrap. kabimba is the most corrupt minister in CNP cabinet yet he claimed to be allergic to corruption. he is mistaking his medication allergy to that of corruption. shame on you wynter.

  14. As usual poor and unconvincing statements. Do you really think that Zambians are dull? That judgement was on the threshold of being registered before RB scuppered it. Does require time as Mr Kabimba puts it?
Finally the PF have shown that they are not different from the people they used to condemn when they were in opposition. They have grown cold feet. But time will catch up with them

  15. AAC has cleared kabimba ang GBM. I am wondering, when was Kabimba interviewed? This fight against corruption is a circus. We caa as well say hands off RB the state is allegic to prosecuting itself.

    • I am also wondering how Kabimba was cleared by ACC. I am actually shocked. Maybe he was cleared at Bwinjimfumu road! This is pathetic.

  16. Uko! The Bwinjimfumu Cartel of Plunderers of Plundered Loot at it again. What ever they are trying to cover up or plunder again. Mind you they also want RB’s properties for themselves.

  17. In Bemba we say umulandu taubola. It’s true chiluba is no more but what he stole is still available. Once this judgement is registered in Zambia the government will recover the loot. So those saying Winter is worsting their time are just ignorant.

  18. Who can trust PF especially the Nkoya man Kabimba and his boss Sata. How can athief be trusted to judge another thief. Sata and Chiluba were in the same league and Kabimba is fast catching up. By the way I pray for my brother LUBINDA who has been accused falsely by this Nkoyaman masquerading as a Bemba , as he nears his expulsion from PF.

  19. When I was in UK I heard:
“… The only way the Government will act it is when it hear a sound of gun-fire…”
Is the investigation by Commonwealth a “sound of gun-fire” which make Mr. Sakeni almost “sensible” and Mr. Kabimba resurrecting registration of Judgment?
