Ruling Patriotic front candidate Gabriel Namulambe is headed for re-election in the Mpongwe by elections.
Out of the 39 polling station counted so far, Mr. Namulambe has taken a comfortable lead with results from 9 polling stations remaining to be counted.
Provisional results indicate that the PF candidate has so far amassed 4, 167 votes while his closest rival Rabson Chilufya of the UPND has polled 2, 699.
Mpongwe has 48 polling stations but the contest is between the two front runners.
Other candidates are MMD’s Miniver Mutesa who has polled 815 while Reagan Ndhlovu of NAREP has only managed 554 votes.
Kenny Kuveya of UNIP is trailing behind with 95 votes.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is this morning expected to announce official results.
THANK YOU PEOPLE OF MPONGWE
Thank you keep it up Mpongwe pipo show MMD & UPND your powers not their formulas of killing innocent pipo,Lstone pipo think twice you need to change.!!!!!!!!!!
I knew it.PF is the way to go.Seleni tubombeko
We will petition these results. PF should not even cheat themselves that they have won after Namulambe sent PF cadres to intimidate everyone including burning Chilfya’s house. The police coudn’t go and help the villagers retrieve their voter’s cards from Namulambe which he used to rig the elction. We are very much aware of the violence that intimidated our people. Two cars belonging to UPND were destroyed by PF and the police were very unprofessional in that they were very partisan. They mounted a road block so that genuine voters should not participate and allow for rigging.
PF development! Let more MPs resign so that more areas be developed. I say so because our president is only developing areas there are by- elections through rallies. You will hear him order roads development to make a road from some place to another area at a rally. Somebody help what do you call this?…
So just changing from MMD to PF of one Individual, how much has it costed development or Maybe this is also development but for whom????
Great News.Thank you people of Mpongwe for
Well done to both the winner and the runner up! Congratulations to the UPND for increasing their share of the vote as they consolidate themselves as the main opposition party. This has not gone unnoticed by the PF judging from the increased harassment been meted out on the UPND rank and file including been framed for murder. Stand firm as most Zambians are scared of a tribal dictatorship that Sata and his minions want to impose on the nation. Its not a crime to be born none Bemba and to lead a political party!
Shame upon you Tonga cowboy with your bitterness on Bembas pipo sleep well
I thought Commonwealth was going to pressure poeple to Vote for your Party. Take a long walk back to South!
Neroi or neon whatever you call yourself please be realistic in your comments. To be honest the UPND only exists in Southern Province and only has traces of its existance in western province and is almost invinsible in the other provinces.Do you remember these words spoken by HH?”UPND IS ME AND AIM UPND.I WILL BE THE LAST TONGA STANDING”When HH left the pact with the PF he said he would make sure the PF does not win but he was ashamed when the PF won.He went to bed with RB thinking he would use MMD to get to Plot 1.Sata has appointed people that supported him when he formed the PF and if the majority are from his tribe it does not make PF tribal.UPND is a village council headed by a village headman, period!!
BEMBAS ARE FOOLS!
Well done PF, the approach of making the country ungovernable just because the winner is categorised as less suitable by a few opposition political leaders with huge over inflated egos and tribalist supremacy complex needs to be out right rejected. Neroi, I am married to a Lunda from North western and I am Bemba! Who told you that Bembas are concerned about people being born other tribes? UBUBWA!
Mpongwe is not choma or sinazeze HH should know that imwe mwe fi ba Tonga
BANYOKO OBALYA! CROOKS HAVE RIGGED THE VOTES. UPND WON MPONGWE. COME 2016 WE WANT SATA GONE OUT OF STATE HOUSE. CHANGE IS COMING TO ZAMBIA, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.
WELL GUYS THE TRUTH IS THERE FOR ALL TO SEE.
YOU CAN KEP YOUR THEORIES. REMEMBER THOSE OPINION POLLS BY SOME
DR. FIMOFIMO IN 2011! YABA IT WAS A DISASTER.
Well done this is not bantustan ,show them pf ka hh will never ever rule this nation period
Congrats more seats in our bag three more to add on. Thanks Mpongwe Pipo
Indeed Namulambe was already on your side even when he was in MMD – no difference, same difference!
Congrats indeed! I think thats why UPND wanted mapatizya formula because they knew they will be losing and they are losing ground. HH has to come up with a formula to win otherwise with his hate towards Sata, I wonder!
Pabwatoooooooo!!Livingstone here we come.
ZAMBIA DOESN’T NEED BOATS! WE ARE A LANDLOCKED COUNTRY. WE ALL NEED HANDS SO WE CAN WORK HARD TO PRODUCE FOOD. VIVA UPND. KICK OUT PF FOOLS AND CROOKS. SELFISH PARTY. ZAMBIA IS FOR ALL OF US.
Ala mukalanda mukanaka lyonse fye chikalaba fye ififine! Most will understand this than the insults have seen in Tonga!
yaya a big thank you mpongwe people for rejecting masons and serial killers.too good for mmd to be relegated to division three sleep together with UNIP mukaziyendela pamodzi ndimutima umo.
one wonders how HH is feeling right now…..change your NRC HH: under ‘names’ please write in bold and readable handwriting ‘Akainde Chilema’, this sounds a little more like a name for umuntu not ing’ombe…..this way we may consider voting for you in 3016….Good Luck! in the meantime, CONGRATS to the well-deserved winners & to myself!!
Your ukwa is sick.1968 blabla.KK AND HH SIGNED CHOMA DECLARATION. VERY SOON BY ELECTION.
i know you, you are from Chingola….wapya we shall send OP guys to track u down…makaka!
My Party came out Third……..congrats MMD…….keep it up,UPND,mapatizya can’t work in Copperbelt……remember, kill one of us in southern Province, will have u all around the country…
Its a pity we have lost so much money through this unnecessary by election. If I were a mpongwe resident I wouldn’t have voted for Namulambe for causing this by election which is a drain on the national resources. His reason for causing this by election was that he wanted to bring development to mpongwe which he cant do in opposition. My problem is this man was once in the ruling party, and did not do much. The guys he is joining were in opposition for ten years and did not cross like him. People lets us be realistic…. Its a pity for our Nation…..
SOMETIMES BYE ELECTIONS ARE GOOD IN ORDER TO SHAME THOSE WHO MAKE IRRITATING NOISE. THOSE WHO WANT TO DISTABILIZE THE PEACE OF ZAMBIA CLAIMING THAT THEY HAVE A BIG FOLLOWING WHEN INFACT THEY DONT. WE SHOULD NOT FEAR BYE ELECTIONS. THE PEOPLE OF MPONGWE HAVE A VERY LEGITIMATE RIGHT TO PICK A LEADER AND PARTY OF THEIR CHOICE. THEY SHOULD NOT BE FORCED TO REMAIN STUCK WITH A PARTY THAT THEY NO LONGER WANT IN THE NAME OF AVOIDING THE COST OF BYE ELECTIONS. AND MOST OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE TALKING ABOUT THE COST OF BYE ELECTIONS ARE ACTUALLY THOSE WHO LOSE THESE SAME BYE ELECTIONS.
Well the people have spoken, he has the votes.
OUR FRIENDS IN THE UPND NEED TO TAKE VERY SERIOUS INTROSPECTION AS A PARTY AND AS INDIVIDUALS. THEY HAVE TRIED TO RIDE ON THE BACK OF THE FOLLOWING BUT HAVE STILL FAILED:
1. SATA PROMISED JOBS IN 90 DAYS
2. SATA PROMISED TO RESTORE BA64
3. M/MEAL SHORTAGES
4. FUEL SHORTAGES
6. CHIKOPA SHOULD GO
7. MUTEMBO IS BAD
8. MEETINGS WITH SOME MEMBERS OF DONOR COMMUNITY
9. ARMSTERDAM (WHO ENDED UP CALLING ZAMBIANS AS *****S)
THEIR EFFORTS HAVE INSTEAD BOOMERANGED AGAINST THEM. THEY HAVE SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT. THEY HAVE ENDED UP PROVOKING AND IRRITATING THE ZAMBIANS WHOSE VOTE THEY ARE LOOKING FOR. PLEASE UPND ASK YOUR SELVES? WHY ARE ZAMBIANS STILL VOTING FOR SATA EVE IN THE LIGHT OF THE ISSUES YOU WANT TO RAISE? OTHERWISE L/STONE IS ALSO GONE TO PF.
CONGRATULATIONS MPONGWE PEOPLE. WE DON’T WANT KILLERS IN OUR MIDST.
Fellow Zambians we are one in the eyes of God Almighty.Personally I see nothIng wrong to have our President from Mpika.Late Mwanawasa was from Copperbelt Lamba land yet he had support from Northern Province and Luapula.
Am teribly disapointed with zambians. So in all honesty tell me what namulambe has benefited from change of parties? Anyway us black pipo have a problem accept it or not. Such a thing can never hapen in develiped world.
Yep that is Zambia the real Africa. Huge sums of unbudgeted money have been spent on bye-elections because of selfish motives. Foolishly people of Mpongwe vote for this C.O.C.K.S.U.C.K.E.R. will continue to enjoy government privileges and tax payers money while they continue to wallow in poverty and live in squalor. What a shame. There is no hope for this country and I am having second thoughts about coming back home and having to put up with this kind of nonsense.
Faka pressure iwe at commonwealth, faka pressure from a posh hotel in Pretoria!!!
Guy’s is it true PF has won local government seats in Southern Province?
Even MMD used to do the same but alas, one day is one day.
Yes but after 20 yrs so if we are to use historical data to focus as you are trying to, how about adding 20 to 2011.
RIGGING,CORRUPTION, VOTE BUYING, INTIMIDATION, ABUSE OF GOVERNMENT RESOURCES,THEFT ARE REASONS WHY CROOKED PF AND NAMULAMBE HAVE WON. NAMULAMBE DID NOT WIN THE ELECTION. CHILUFYA AND UPND DID WIN. THIEVES STOLE UPND’S VOTES. CROOKS.
sore loser! You really believe HH can win elections on the kopala? You are demented!
So we have seen who the real looser is. We have seen who the genious is .BRAVO PF ! Upnd where are u.
In 2011 Mpongwe elections MMD got 7,843, PF 5,143 and 1,422. Now MMD 815, PF 4167 and UPND 2699 Comment
I am surprised UPND scooped such a big number of votes in an area I thought was a PF/MMD stronghold. What does this tell you? Lets analyse these numbers as well.
6725 stayed at home…
81% of PF voter share got them the seat… about 1000 less voters from 2011
MMD lost just over 90% of their support…about 7000 voters from 2011
UPND almost doubled its numbers…over 1200 voters from 2011
Nutshell – lower turn out. Those who did mostly voted PF and UPND made some gains. Either UPND chipped vote share from the other two or gained votes which dented PF but eliminated MMD. I don’t know. Not a statistician. My guess would be MMD lost out big this time if only judged by numbers. The voters who stayed away are the ones who will decide in 2016. Even little NAREP if it won their hearts could take this seat. I’m sure all strategists are looking at the figures.
MMD lost just under 90% – I was looking at a turnout of just over 10% of their vote and reversing it.
UPND will keep dreaming while PF will keep winning…. Bapya baisa!
congrats UPND, for becoming second in that area, i for sure thot it would be PF/MMD. Keep it up UPND and people of mpongwe. am sure PF is having a diarrhea of the mouth, cant believe it after intimidation and threats. You guys in UPND are SMART MAN. COGRATS AGAIN you have scoped 80% out of 100. now do mapatizya formular and more bricks pan please. COGRATS
Mu-Zambia you are truly a demented UPND supporter! Voter turn out was very poor for this election because of disoriented MMD members under the mismanagement of Nevers Sekwila Mumba. These voters will most likely vote PF in 2016 than UPND. The confusion in MMD will reshape the political landscape with gains by both PF & UPND, however, in most areas of the Copperblet, PF will gain. This is a genuine analysis not UPND hot air!
@MundiaM, You cannot dismiss UPND performance on account of poor voter turnout. You might as well dismiss the PF win as hollow because the same poor voter turnout affected the PF. Namulambe got fever votes than he got in 2011. And since this is the case ; he would still have gotten fewer votes if the turnout was higher because most of the people who didnt turnout are the ones who voted for him last time and presumably they are fed up with him! . In terms of votes gained the UPND has almost double its votes compared to 2011. Both Namulambe and MMD have lost votes. These are simple statistics . There’s no need for biased opinions.
Ruling parties will continue winning in rural areas because of poverty. Just give those fellas sugar and you have their votes. For me, its not anything to get excited about.
But PF has the support two most developed areas urban in Zambia Lusaka and CB.so I do not know what you are talking about , so in your thinking PF is slowly winning the support of all Zambian being in rural areas or urban.
@Kantanshi please read what Jairos has written….
Truth your comment is so shallow, not all Bembas are fools. The upnd lacks proper leadership that is the truth. their president is enjoying all these killings ,its not funny at all these are pipos lives we are talking about. No wonder they don’t even deserve to be in power.
And you think Sata is a proper leader?
You tribalists, Mpongwe is not Bemba land. Nabamisepafye. May be if it was slaughtering people, you would have won pantu ifwe tatwaba good muli ifyo,
UPND the killing party is reaping what it has sown in the MAPATIZYA FORMULA. We told you that you are losing support coz of your shedding blood of innocent people.
Continue behaving like children and come 2016 you will be again last. I pity UPND.
Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.
One tribe, one province one party one HH, You think they can get Mpongwe
Ife ba UPND ndifee chabe vipubaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
