Peter Chitila says Renard Should Be Sacked

Share

Ex-Chipolopolo defender Peter Chitila has called for the dismissal of Coach Herve Renard following Zambia’s 1-1 with Lesotho in an away 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

Chitila, who featured at the 1998 Africa Cup in Burkina Faso, charged that Zambia won’t qualify to the World Cup if Renard was maintained.

The former Power Dynamos defender stated that Renard was not good at analysis matches whenever Zambia was playing.

“It’s a déjà vu Lesotho 1-1 Zambia. I welcome all my critics reacting negatively to my comments but I will remain positive and stick with the same comment Zambia won’t see the World Cup as long as they keep this coaching staff,” Chitila wrote on his facebook page.

“This coach has proved time after time that he doesn’t know modern soccer movement on the pitch and its proving. We bowed out of the AFCON by drawing with 10-man Ethiopia .Now its Lesotho, we don’t deserve to go to Brazil not even by luck because it will be an embarrassment to play the World Cup in South America,” he added.

“Kalusha Bwalya should we say he is getting rusty or relaxed not realizing we are not going to the World Cup. It looks like the $100,000 they made over this last year has made the entire group big headed and think they can beat any team by showing pictures of lifting the Africa Cup,” Chitila said.

He claimed that a local coach would do better.

“Who ever is responsible please give this technical bench a rest .We need a local coach to take over now not later while we wait for return match in Zambia. Pick a new coaching staff and pick a local coaching staff.

“We have Charles Musonda he lives and sleeps modem soccer he’s career was over shadowed we know how please bring him in. Peter Kaumba, Dennis Lota, Tenant Chilumba, Martin Mwamba, Steven Mwansa, Elijah Tana. Give these people a chance while we take time to find a new advanced coach.”

Zambia leads Group lead D of the World Cup qualifiers with seven points while second placed Ghana are a point behind.

Lesotho, have moved into third place with two points, and bottom placed Sudan have one point.

  1. Herve Renard must be sacked. He has failed to cum up with his own team that can bring glory to Zambian soccer fans. The current crop of players are from Kalu and Dario.
    Honestly, William Njovu?

    • You seem to have a very short memory. Dario came and found the same group of players which Herve had built for Afcon 2010 in Angola. Dario never drafted in a single player.

    • You speak as if Dario was winning all the games we played under him, be remindered that it took up to the last qualifying game for Zambia to book a place to the very tornerment we won. Lets face it, Zambia has no quality players who fail to raise to the challenge, thats why they do not make it to big european teams, the players have just lost form not even clifford can come and make changes, Fwayo did nothing, lets just pray they find that form that worn us the cup

  2. thiscoach cleraly lacks skills, let him go and continue with his furniture bussiness at Mandevu Market of France. The chap is a chancer and expects to go on. Shame on Renard

    • We lacked “tactical displine” means the player could not follow instrucations, depending on one player being in good form takes a team no where, thats why Zambia won nothing when kalusha was at his pick, Sunzu who marked Drogda so well was a shadow of himself, kalaba’s creativity was no where

  3. It is true that we really need a change in the coaching staff.
But chitila don’t call your friends big headed. They brought glory to Zambia by lifting AFCON 2012.
What did you win for your country your self? Infact you were a stirker, how many goals did you score for the national team?
Chitila you are one of the flukest and mediocre srtikers Zambia has ever produced.
You should be the last person to comment on Zambia’s performance because you have left nothing to be remembered for except for those critical misses in front of goal you subjected us to watch.

    • its you who should stop lying here.
      chitila a striker? my foot.
he was a defender, a porous one for that matter.
i remember when that coach ziese played five defenders in one game.
      2. mordon malitoli
      3. alan kamwanga
      4. harrison chongo
      5. elijah litana
      6. peter chitila
that was what one would call ‘comedy of errors.’

    • Which local players, look at their performance in the CAF continental competitons, what do you expect them to do at national team level

  4. The call for a local coach is vital. Look at South Africa who have Gordon Igesund (born 26 July 1956 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal) is a former South African football player and coach who is the current manager. He has rejuvenated the SA team to be a winning team. Wath them whey play the boys are inpsired everyone goes in whi a purpose. He has mentored the boys like the way Jose Morinho does. Zambia needs a Local Coach like Charles Musonda who the guys have proposed or anyoe who they see fit who has been vested with current trends of world footbal. HR is a finished and fluke coach. We may still have a chnace on condition that we re-structure the entire coaching bench

  5. I never watched the game since iam in Diaspora just checked comments, i concur with the writer although i dont remember him in zambian football. Let that man Lucky Msiska take over ushe ulyawina aba kwisa? he appeared shotly on zambian scene at bonita time and disapeared

    • he nearly fought bonnet after they differed on each one’s preferred player(s) and general team tactics.
thats how muchofe called it quits.

    • This comment reminds me of what i read of FB on Zambian jokes”How to know that someone lives outside zed”….didnt watch coz i live in diaspora….damn

    • Were is he in the first place and is he doing coahing wonders were he is, all the coachs in the premier leaque are been encourage to be qualified coachies in the first place, then we can move forward.

  6. Simple, football is a results business as Sir Alex puts it, you cannot go four games, almost five without a win without a coach being sacked!

  7. Funny you mention Charles Musonda. As much as I agree with most of the stuff he said , I don’t think Musonda should ever be allowed to do anything with our national team. I mean, this guy is the most unpatriotic person I ve ever seen. He doesn’t like anything about Zambia. Charles Musonda is more Belgian than he is Zambian.

    • i almost ignored your post.. but on the second thought… i think i should just ask you to earnestly find out why musonda seem to be unpatriotic.
by the way, are you privy to the fact that all his three children were willing to play for zambia but for kalusha’s hatred?
      let me end here otherwise……

    • The Kalusha excuse is lame…on the other hand,it’s people who hate Kalu who bring that nonsense up so they can portray him as a bad person. This guy(Musonda) run away from playing for Zambia like a coward. You should see the video on you tube were he give reasons why he couldn’t play for Zambia anymore and stop speculating and spreading that Kalusha nonsense. Kalu is a patriot,he’s been there since day one and he should be respected for that.

    • Why pick on Charles?? How about Kalu??? Simply becoz he lives in Belgium & don’t see eye to eye with Kalu & others in FAZ, doesn’t mean he is unpatriotic!!!

  8. Renard should stay. Its the players who are to blame not even Sir Alex can make them win some of them have grown too big headed, remember this same thing happened to Real players at one time when the time was full of stars and had very little respect for the coach

    • My Friend what is the duty of coach if he can not select players on merit. How many times have we told him to include players like Clifford Mulenga? This Swangapo coach you can give a talented team like Barcelona all he will get is a draw.We are fed up with his draws and 1-0 results.Herve Renard should go there are many coaches who would like take the job. If Dario Bonneti was fired for draws when he qualified the team to AFCON 2012 why can’t FAZ fire Herve Renard as well?

  9. HR is a Frenchman and these guys are not known to go down quietly…..our incompetent FAZ chief is well aware of this trait; the minute he sacks HR that’s the moment when he will spill all the beans!!

    • You are right, what is the altenative? Patrick Phiri did he win us the Africa cup or was he even nominated for best coach in Africa, recycling just like the politicians

  10. With due respect to winning the AFCON Cup for the first time,by the team assembled by Dario Bonneti.Herve Renard the Swangapo coach should be fired. Please FAZ you fired DB qualifying the team to 2012 finals through draws why can’t you fire this Swangwapo coach HR who has only managed four draws in a row and putting the chances of the team to qualify to our maiden world cup appearance in Brasil 2014.Please get a coach who will qualify the team to the world cup please. We are tired of this re-based Swangwapo coach HR.

  11. its the players not HR, why put blame in the wrong direction. No need to fire the coach, ban the team just dismiss kalu and erick mwanza.how can a nation ve a foreign based football association president a man so detached from reality.

  12. the coach is not the problem. just find strikers who can kill games before the opposition even think of fighting back…thats where the local coaches can help. our local coaches can not lead chipolopolo bcoz if anything..they have the worst record in continent club football..already zanaco is walking on thin ice before groups games even start..the team is just in free fall and thats football..they need to keep working hard and believe that they can win the group. ghana is not invincible..we know them..as chokers when they meet their match..they will not walk over as if anything the match could be a decider or a formality by the time we play them. just bring back Given Singuluma..Coach..!zambians forgive..you are very sheety lately..forgive clifford Mulenga..He is a game changer.. Do it

    • You have contradicted yourself. Who picks players, is it not the coach? After our bad performance at AFCON 2013 we all expected HR to look into the issue of strikers. The other issue is our players can run, they have no speed. HR is a total failure, he has completely failed to revamp the team.

  13. I’ve always said it. RH is a PE teacher let him go 2 France what he knows best,High School PE teacher. Our players are not great, but a good coach can get the best out of them.

  14. Charles Musonda is the right man for the job, as Peter Chitila says Charlie is all football about him, he can even hook up some of our players in top Beilgium clubs like Anderlect nd Gent, heed this call Kalusha.

  15. Let renard just resign coz firing him it will cost us alot of money HR is being ornted by his failure to forgive an innocent and genious Clifford Mulenga

  16. Awe mwandini, but naikosako qualifying. Because this ka coach with his form we can draw one of the next games. the posibility is very high

  17. Our coach is a PE ( Physical Education) specialist and cannot read the morden game. There must be someting sinister between Kalusha Bwalya, Katongo and the coach. Time will tell.

We need to change the coach now and bring the Claude Leros ( DRC coach).

    • Continue dreaming #Lenar,Zambia will not be beaten by Ghana in Accra but will be butchered, and embarrassed, .Ghana 8 – 0 Zambia

  18. Rebate is taking Zambia to the world cup for the first time… And haters like this chitala will be the 1st one to jump.. Go chipilopolo Go…Renard U are the man.

  19. Why do u have to leave out the zambian leage top scorer…u ask this qstn,is it coz kalusha doent like anything to do with Nkana football club?
Let us change the way we select local player,Kampamba,Satesate from Nkana is a hot pair……..but why not consider them in the national Team?

  20. HR has to be fired. We have a population of 14 million plus and we can’t find players to replace the under performing ones. He has been playing names no wonder our performance has been bad. The following are the problems we have

    1. FAZ is also a letdown as they are not doing their job of scouting players from 10 provinces. HR is just always watching teams like Zanaco, Zesco, Nkana, Power just to mention a few.

    2. Education is very important and our players, sorry to say this but are very shallow in reasoning. We need to have a plan of them(Players) attending night school or evening classes just to help them make decisions on the pitch.

America has attached school with sports. If you don’t have such grades you wont qualify to play in this competition.

  21. Peter is right, he did not have to be a good player in his days to be able to note the flaws in Herve, by now we should know that the best coaches were not necessarily the best of players. Morinho, ferguson, wernger, andre vilas boas etc are some of the best readers of the mordern game when in fact some of them never even kicked the ball in their lives. So lets heed peters valuable advice

  22. If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.
IF WE CONTINUE WITH RENARD THEN EXPECT THE SAME RESULTS

  23. I am not sure it is the coach but I think the Zambian palyers need to be very agrasive I have a winning mentality. At the moment the chaps seem too casual. At the lats Africa Cup in SA I liked that young bemba fella who the coach kept briging in as a sub. He plays local soccer their in Zambia. That young man has a future. Mweene is still fine so is HH Sunzu, Chisamba Lungu and Mbola. As for midfielders and strikers we are lacking other than that very young bemba boy. We need a very qualified European coach. Most Zambian ex-players are semi literate and they cant grasp the game’s morden technics especially if taught is English. They have not done much learning themselves beyond the natural talents that have.

  24. Zambia’s flaws are in the midfield and thats where we keep losing everything. Our midfield is not mobile, they lack sense of urgency, no direction, they are always lost.

The same midfield is supposed to be good at blocking balls and protecting our defence but not our midfield and in the end they expose our defense to many attacks. It is the same midfield that is supposed to feed Mbesuma upfront, but not our midfield and in the end we find Mbesuma coming to fight for balls in the middle.

Where has our speedy flashy football gone kanshi………? Do we need Wisdom Chansa or Derby Makinka to come and show us how to play foootball in the middle of the park. Shame Zambia, Herve Renard has only one game left to draw and he will be sacked…..However if we could act faster be4 June the…

    • Secretreval,
I agree with you 100% that the midfield is where the problem lies. For me though, the biggest problem is paralysis of analysis. In other words failure by Renard to identify that our middle field is where the problem lies.None, be it our local coaches and the so called analylists brought on ZNBC TV has come any where close to identifying the problem. All you hear them talk is the frontline this, frontline that.
The middle field is the engine room of any team with the duo role of winning balls and creating defense splitting passes for srikers. Since winning the AfCON our middlefield has been too pedestrian .They have become too porous, and instances when they win possession they lack vision in passing, urgency and at times make unforced errors.
Wish had more space to go on.

  25. HR sold the game to Ghana, his former employers. That is why he removed Mbesuma when he saw that his deal was going to be lost

  26. Let the coach stay. He did his job though the players failed to deliver though one mistake he made was the Mbesuma substution. Firing the coach will not help. Dario never assembled the team, this team was assemble by HR and its the one which took us to the quarter finals.

  27. Let’s look at a big picture … I don’t know if most of you even realize how much Zambia as nation and the youth will benefit from just Zambia going to brazil it’s crucial than y’all think .. We can’t let this sleep away all we needed was a draw in Ghana and off we go to brazil .. I was talking to Joseph Musonda during the afcon hinting him . Saying beating Lesotho home and away is the key to the world cup… Now we draw while Ghana doing what we suppose to do … Messy! It’s not about how much soccer you played it’s just how much you can read the game .. Zambia has players to deliver if proper coaching in place .. Still saying this HR has his own coaching he stayed too much in Africa losing the touch .. We watch movement running game even at age 16 now how bout national team

  28. I don’t even see what the debate is about ! Football is results oriented ! Most importantly winning games , but additionally playing well ! The Lesotho game was pathetic ! An alternative ( to firing HR ) is to have these guys camp longer and add a few new faces in the process !

  29. We have no better alternative at the moment. U make Charles look like a hero now when he used to refuse to play for Zambia when he was at his peak. Let him rot in Belgium.
Zambian coaches are too corrupt nothing will work. Let’s look for a coach who can read the game and plan well after half – time. The Ethopia game we lost due to lack of an analytical and tactical coach.

  30. The Technical bench have a job of coming up with a creative midfield. We need a good stopper and distributor of the ball at number 6, a number 8 who is mobile, creative and good passer of the ball to Mbesuma, a number 7 who is quick, with an atitude of no retreat no surrender as he moves the ball upfront and a number 11 that is good at spliting defences and seeing where Mbesuma is in order to feed him with the ball.

Zambia’s defence is just ok, its only that due to lack of a good midfield, our defence is exposed too much and become vulnerable to attacks. The same can be said about the striking force in the name of Mbesuma, it is very effective and only lacks feeding from the midfielders. In short the coach needs to go out in search of these 4 players,Chisamba,Mukuka can be included…

  31. local coaches are the worst fellows one can let try especially the names this guy has flaunted.Of course renard must go.He really has a poor reading of games at crucial times.
