Can Zanaco Beat Pirates?

Share

Zanaco are 90 inuytes away from glory or faliure when they face Orlando Pirates on Satuday in Johannesburg.

Pirates lead zanaco 1-0 from the first leg tie of the CAF Champions League played on March 16 in Lusaka.

Zanaco must beat Pirates 2-0 to be certain of advancing to the second round of the competition on April 20.

It hasnt helped that Zanaco’s form since that first leg meeting continues to be the leats patchy after two defeats and a draw inbetween for the 2012 league champions.

Goals too have been hard to come from their strikers and the burden has been heaped on midfielder Roderick Kabwe and Henry Banda.

However, Zanaco will feel they still have a shot at upsetting Pirates at FNB Stadium going by tgeir hosts form.

Pirates have failed to muster a win since their victory over Zanaco.

The South African side has picked up two draws in the league giving.

However, void in class between Pirates and Zanaco was stark for all to see.

The onus will be on Keagan Mumba’s side to cnvinvce us that they have overcome the stage fright of facing brand Pirates.

  1. We failed to beat Pirates here at home and u ar even thinking we can beat them in their backyard. Zambians are BIG DREAMERS: Total Muppets.

  2. the problem with zanaco is their coach.
each time looses,he blames everyone but himself.
and he talks too much unnecessarily.

  3. Anything is possible in soccer. Pirates were recently humiliated 4 -1 by a 3rd division
team in the NEDBANK challenge. I still fancy ZANACO if they go in with a good game plan. I will watch the whole game.

  4. Granted, anything is possible in football but Zanaco will need to seriously up their game if they would have to score two unanswered at the FNB stadium. I watched Pirates play Amazulu recently and although they didnt win their standard was high.

What i find missing is hunger for success. As a Zambian I remain cautiously optimistic that the boys will rise to the occasion.

  5. Wouldn’t put my money on a Zambian club winning away on international level or let alone the national team…no way.

  6. Do we have to answer that question when they couldn’t make use of home ground advantage and lost? Awe natulelota…

  7. It depends on their approach and conviction today, if they ambush Pirates and score early to dilence fans, they have s chance, but the moment Pirares scores girdt, that’s yhe end of their tpad. I will watch out of patriotism but with abated breath!

  8. The answers is a “BIG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOÃ’OOOÃ’OOOOÃ’OOOÃ’OOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOÃ’OOOOOOHHOOOOOOOOOO”

  9. They should contact Patrick Phiri. He reversed a 0-1 home loss for Chipolopolo against Bafana. With the help of Chris Katongo

  10. Zana has equalized. Its one all in the 50th minute. I’m wishing these boys the best. Hope they turn tables as another goal wud make it up for them

  11. This is the first I’ve seen of this goalkeeper (actually goal-giver called) Racha Kola and I’ve a problem believing how he even makes it into the national team’s line up. He leaks worse than a basket…!!! The fact that he is part of the national team is a true reflection of the decline of soccer standards in Zambia.
