Coach Keagan Mumba has lamented Zanaco’s elimination from the CAF Champions League.

South African giants Orlando Pirates booted out Zanaco from the Champions League 3-1 on aggregate after winning last night’s return leg 2-1 in Johannesburg.

In a post-match interview, Mumba told SABC that Zanaco tried their best in the Champions League.

He, however, congratulated Pirates fror advancing to the second round.

“Firstly, congratulations to Pirates. It was not just our day.
“In the first leg, we gave too much respect to Pirates,” he said.

Zanaco’s failure in the continental competition follow’s Power Dynamos’ elimination from the CAF Confederations Cup last month.

  1. It is a BIG lesson to all Zambian SOCCER FANS, footballers, officials, coaches FAZ and GRZ. They all need deliverance starting with Kalusha. The tactics they used to start playing football of using muti is absolute now. Imagine one still believing in juju playing one who came from T B Joshua and got delivered. The juju footballer sprinkles himself with concoctions and the delivered player sprays himself with annointing water in Jesus’ Name. Which is stronger between light and darkness? All big names of African soccer have sought deliverance including Drogbar but no Zambian player or official bothers apart from turning away from God. Zambian soccer fans I read from blogs that they celebrate with sex with sex workers whenever Zambia wins and we think GOD can be happy with that?

  2. if zambian clubs are to start performing well they should hold on to players. if power had kept players like luka lungu , joseph sitali etc they would be a force on the continent. soon mudenda and mukuka will leave. surely sponsors like zanaco bank and CEC who are making huge profits can meet their wage demands. if a player is to be sold it should be a good european club not just SA and Congo.

  3. I’m still surprised as to why gullible people still continue to be amazed by the under performance of our club teams at international club level. When a national team wins a major tournament trophy that glory has to trickle down to the grass-roots if that doesn’t happen then the FA is to blame.
Until recently most of these clubs in our top flight were run like a weekend pub teams for mudalas; no physical offices or permanent administration staff, no website etc do you honestly think a club from such a shambolic league can outshine on the international platform. C’mon guys this 2013 club football is a million dollar business run by savvy business and marketing professionals not by clueless former footballers in it for the quick buck.
    Wake up people!!

  4. I thought Zanaco played better than Chipolopolo and the goal they scored was better than any the bullets have scored the last 3 years
